The past couple of days I've been craving new video game action, so I started jocking my brain for some ideas and I came up with Half Life 2, Mechwarrior 4, or some racing game capable of online play.
Prologue: So after work I took a drive down to the mall to look in the Electronics Boutique for a used version of Mech Warror 4, but it turns out that on Sundays, the Mall closes quite early, I was there at around 7:30 and it was completely DEAD. Ok. No big deal. I'll just head over to the Commons and check out what Game Stop has. BAM they're closed too! Ok, beginning to get annoyed, I shot over to Circuit City. I walked in the doors and looked at my phone and it said it was 7:55. As I walked in I noticed their sign said they close at 8 XD. DANG! Well I walked into their video game isle and didn't see MW4, I saw Half Life 2, but it was too expensive. So I left, just as they shut down. Now, I decided my next best bet was Best Buy, drove up the hill from CC and turns out Best Buy closed at 7... >_> And now, on the brink of going home I figured I'd check to see if the outlet Radio Shack by Walmart was open. They were, but I figured I'd check Walmart first. Believe it or not, Walmart has a bigger selection of games than Circuit City! XD Turns out they didn't have Mech Warrior, so I perused their choices for a bit and came across one game, GT Legends. Looked promising, and I could use a new Computer Racing game.
Initial Thoughts: The game itself is based off GT cars and tracks from the 1960s-70s, so I thought there would be quite a limited number of cars and tracks in game. Boy was I wrong! Theres over 90 different authentic FIA cars and 25+ tracks to play on! Also, it has a play online feature where you can challenge up to 15 people over the internet. SWOOT. It has authentic recorded auto sounds and all kinds of SICK graphics.
Install: The game takes 3 discs to install and took just a few minutes. Configuration was a breeze and it even supported my
AIRFLO Game Pad along with my joystick, though I don't think its very useful to have a joystick in a car game O_o (well except maybe if the car has guns and crap like in Streets of Sim City).
Verdict: I like it,
GT Legends is a great game from what I've seen, excellent compatability, great graphics and free online or network play. I found it at my local Walmart Super Center and it was under 20 bucks. If you're a motor head and like GT style racing, grab a copy of it and maybe we can play online!
