Title: Going to be a very bad day

When your old faithful office chair throws you, you know your not going to have the best of days.

Wow, Gen, that's really... uh...talented. o_0 Though something like that would probably make my day. XD But then again I was know for falling off of/over chairs for a while. ¬_¬;

hehe, I can't help but picture some guy sitting in his office chair, doing something of a seeming importance. He is in good spirits and having a nice, cold can of soda (saw the can of soda). Then all of a sudden he hears a small sound and BOOM. He is on the floor bewildered, yet able to marvel at the new appearence of his beloved office chair that had seen many a loney day with him.

Thats great, Genisis. Hope you're all right, but thats just bloody halarious. Don't mind me though... I find amusement in people falling out of stationary chairs, or any type of chair for the matter. Seeing as how I fall out of chairs all the time you can imagine I laugh at myself on a near daily basis. hehe... Gotta love the appearence of the chair. it looks so... Sad? That being if chairs were capable of emotion. It's depressed it will no longer be able to "your" chair. now it's the garbage raider's chair. Some idiot will probubly take it too. hehe. Oh well.

Well, I suppose you will be treating yourself to a new office chair?? hehe.. Lycan

I have to agree with Lycan...so long as you're okay, that's the sort of thing that's amusing along with annoying. And the poor chair...

I've got a plain wooden chair myself...not very comfortable, but it seems sturdy. And I think I have almost the same keyboard...

Cant say, too many youngins around here hehehehehe
Chair was only two years old, but it sees a LOT of use. And no, havent been gaining any weight, losing quite a bit actually.
Yes, my son, somewhere buried in the computer and technology section there is a better picture of the desktop background on that computer.

DUST?? Where? That office had just been ccleaned that afternoon. Probably some on the camera lens, it was the nearest one at hand to snap the pic.
Nope, was a standard $150 office chair from Staples.

Now I have seen it, what does it exactly do? (I'm not a computer nerd)

The quad monitor set up in my workroom/ofice is mainly just to keep an eye on various sites(hence the reason I shut off one of the monitors before taking the pic, lots of young eyes here lol), chatrooms, and forums I run, plus keep track of various Ebay auctions I am interested in or bidding on at the time, while I work on Zoids or various other projects.

My primary computer systems are in the upstairs office ajacent to the studio where I do the majority of my work. Those each operate 6 monitors each. One of those systems monitors the security cameras thru the house and outside. The other is my primary working computer for various projects, photoediting, and other work I do.
I cant work on a single monitor, I prefer being able to work on several things at once and would go nuts if I couldnt multitask my day.
That and the need to be able to keep track of various site simultaniasly requires a lot of screens hehehehe

Does drive the wife bonkers trying to keep up though

lol... 4 monitors and only one tower.. It isnt even a server tower... XD C'mon man.. What good is having that much desktop space when you only got one task bar? Ask an uncle if he has an old Gateway2000 or something (thats what I did... twice.... and it worked twice..).. Slap a copy of linux in it and you could make a file/print server. Have maybe instant messengers run on it. Give your other comp a break from a few processes. (Oh yeah, I highly recomend you take your system and get it blown out with compressed air of dust. I hit my computer and powersupply outside and so much dust came out I couldn't even see... I have 2 monitors at the most when I need it, but then I have multiple systems. (I wish I had better wireing and outlets in my room.. Its horrible to have so mush potential but have only 3 and a half outlets... Thus, I'm forced to keep 2 of my comps down in my basement... The one needs a hard drive, the other needs a BIOS. (which despite my hardest attempts seems to be flashed beyond repair... Oh well... its only a 75mhz XD.

Remember them pictures from grade school of like one plug with liek 10 cords comming out of em? I'll have to get pictures and show you how overloaded the wall is. XD

Genesis, a question: how do you manage to have 6 working desktops? I can see 4 but 6... Multiple video cards? A splitter really won't do it.. Oh yeah, if you like having multiple monitors, you should seriously check into Linux. It has a neat option where you click a divided square and it take you to a different active desktop. Windows XP may have something like that, but its probably too far buried to be of any use..

~I just realised... I forgot to mention the reason I was gonna reply to this thread! There was this 129.00 chair I saw at Walmart... I fell in love with it. Check it out.. might be worth it. Really.. SOOOO COMFORTABLE.

TheBlackCat - September 5, 2004 01:47 AM (GMT)
There is a free windows powertool that lets you do that. You can get it off the windows site, it even gives you a little taksbar toolbar that lets you navigate easily. It is limited to four desktops, but that is more than I need.

My systems get blown out weekly without fail. Wasnt in the computer business for 15 yrs before selling my company and retiring to have forgtten even the basics already hehehe

I have used Linux in the past, and I dont care for it.
Any version of Windows contains programming and is set up to run up to 9 monitors and individual desktops.
Personally, I run XP, I find it manages multi-monitor and multi-desktop much more efficently then previous versions.

The tower in the picture is my baby computer, single P4 3.0ghz chip with only a gig of ram to work with. This one has two video cards, both ATI Radeon dual monitor cards with 128mg ram each, running XP home edition (gutted and refurbished by me, originally an E-Machines system, though I doubt they would recognise the interior now :D )

Both main systems upstairs run dual P4 3.0ghz procesors 3 gig ram each, and and three ATI Radeon 9800 Pro's, 256mg ea, one AGP, two PCI, running on XP Profffesional (both built by Alienware)

Now please, I have a question of you. What the heck does "XD" you put on everything mean????

Thanks for the chair tip, didnt get a chance to go looking today and was planning on going tomorrow and looking at walmart and staples. (My Terox arrived today so I spent the afternoon stripping it done, removing the excess sprue and cleaning it.)

It is an ok application, but I much prefer the Hydravision software that the ATI Radeons use. no limits on desktops and infinitly configurable.

XD is a smiley face...turn your head sideways and look at it. XP

...*smacks you*...

GIMME YOUR PC! NOW! THAT ALIENWARE ONE! RIGHT NOW!
