Good luck to you people who are starting school again!
Holidays start for me in 3 or 4 weeks :D I spent most of the last holidays catching up with school work, so I'm making sure I can relax during these hols (even if they are close to exams and we are supposed to be studying. >_> )
Edit: FOD, I love your signature. *Has an obsession with pink Gundams*

My classes start the second week of september, but the first day's a half-day. It's like they just stop you for a moment and say "Ha ha. Your summer's over. Let us rub it in your face and make you buy our overpriced books." I'm not buying their stupid 15.00 bibles, I'm buying a less-stupid 1.00 one!

I had a teacher do something similar to that one year ago...She was like, Ha Ha, Your summers over, now these are the things you must buy befor tomorrow, or else you will get a 0% on your first grade + a phone call home ...
Screw those Summer hating teachers... <_<

15 dollars is nothing for a textbook.
...I need to see if there's still space in the Japanese class I wanted to take. Or German. Or Russian. AUGH TOO MANY INTERESTING THINGS.

you have a japanese class in your school.. cool, my school doesn't.. for languages it only has French, greek, and spanish.. then tons of art classes..
PlushRayseTiger - August 28, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
...why can't any of the schools around here have Japanese classes. All I got are the basics and religion (which I will most likely fail. :( ) Art class is more like 'color hour'.
Tilly - August 28, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
There's Japanese (and many other language) classes for adults at the university here, which are rather expensive and require also-expensive textbooks. I don't know if they'd count for proper credits later either...
So it's not like being able to take it in high school or something, hence my flailing over what to do.

heh we don't even have any classes on religion.. just lots of art.. lots.. and quite a bit of technological stuff.
I think Chinese classes are gonna start up, hopefully. we had them for half of last year but not many people went.

Are you in high school yet? If not, Laguardia and Bronx Science are both offering Japanese classes, you might want to consider trying out for art at Laguardia. I assume you know that those two schools require you to take the "Specialized High School test" and get a certain score. Tech is okay-I go there, wouldn't help if I told you my score since they change the required scores to get in every year. I forgot anyway.

I wish my high school had Japanese classes..
I would run to the class every day, instead of beating kids up in the halls every period.. :D
Maybe I should look for a college that have a japanese class...*oneofhisdraems*
Wind - August 29, 2006 04:20 AM (GMT)
you beat kids up? O.o
oh well, but yeah it would be cool if my school had japanese classes to.. i could run on the ice on the track, even faster during the winter time*has yet to fall on ice*
I think there's a college that has japanese classes in New York, wich isn't that long of a car drive from CT, I have a friend who's going there this year
Momonga - August 29, 2006 05:17 AM (GMT)
My high school has a Japanese class, and the only reason I started doing it was because I couldn't do Chinese. Despite what people think, for me the anime love came after the learning Japanese.
Wind - August 29, 2006 05:25 AM (GMT)
hm lucky, most people at my school have no interest in learning japanese or chinese..
My love of anime came when i met my friend laura a few years back, she introduced me to all kinds of diferent stuff, but truley the first anime i ever saw was pilot candidate and that was when i was little and could barely stay up till midnight.

@ Wind: only the dumb gang banging kids who messes with my school...
Yes, Yes..Iv wanted to learn the language for a long time..Even got books, and CD roms, but my laziness catches on me, making my Japanese dictionary very very small...
Wind - August 29, 2006 01:58 PM (GMT)
ahh ok
same here, i got the dummies guide to it and i use online sources but lazyness makes me stop reading afer about 15 minutes.
Tilly - August 29, 2006 11:35 PM (GMT)
What I know I've absorbed through sheer drive toward wanting to read stuff. I suspect it'll make taking classes very strange as what I do know collides with what I don't...

I started school today. Im hoping I get to write a paper on Zoids this year in English 10.
