Title: A request, this is kind of a long shot though
Geno Saurer - October 4, 2006 11:50 PM (GMT)
This is kind of a strange request, and its a long shot but by any chan ce idd anyone happen to watch that "Dinozaurs" TV show that stopped airing a few years ago, and happen to record it? And if so, would you be able to be able to upload the pictures onto the internet and/or onto replies to this thread*?
I really wouldn't be asking if it weren't for the fact that Google results on that TV show found notihng but generic TV show sites, generic anime sites, and generic action figure sites.
* - I know this part isn't really written very well, but I have no idea how the act of uploading images onto a message board should be referred to
P.S.: And side from viewing this thread to see if people replied.... I'm leaving this board, although I haven't been posting on it very often so that's basically meaningless.
But, I would like to say thanks to Tilly (on the off-chance that she reads this thread) on account that without her I would never have found the Amenbo site, and would never have found a Bakuryuu Sentai Abarenger merchandise (which sold out on most sites a few years ago)

I really shouldn't post things late at night because I forgot to mention something... two things actually.
Firstly, thanks for trying to help, but the show is 'Dinozaurs'. Note the Z.
Secondly, on the off-chance that anyone from here wants to speak to me, my screenname on Japanhero.com is 'BakuryuuTyranno', which is also the screenname I use for basically every message board I've posted on in the last two years or so except for this one.
'BakuryuuTyranno' is not technically a unique screenname, but since most people outside of Japan haven't seen 'Bakuryuu Sentai Abarenger', it's highly doubtful that anyone will be using the screenname 'BakuryuuTyranno' written in English, so its close enough to a unique screenname. I don't think I found anyone besides me when I entered it on Google anyway.

Quit acting like we all hate you. :) We aren't evil when someone asks a question.
What was the show about? Any main characters you can describe? What channel and country did the show air?
I'm a tv whore, so I might remember it if you describe it a bit. I was raised on television, and late night infomercials.

It sounds familar, I will have to think about it.

I have one episode... though it's horrible quality waaaay back like five... er... seven? years ago on a VHS. Not sure where it is at the moment, but give me a few months... or maybe years to sort it out...
Hm... was it in my Escaflowne Record too... gosh... can't remember. Damn I feel old.
Anyway, in teh episode are three tricera bother that can combine (what is this? Cross between transformers and bio Zoids?) into this big guy with a big big big sword. And fights the black serpent dragon.. (I love the black serpent dragon).
Enough with my rambing.. I'll see what I can do.

wow, for some reason i got a flashback of that tv show cartoon of four dino people that are good, adn have to fight this Raptor bad guy and his hundreds of raptor minions... I forget what it was called, but there was a T-rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and some other dino.
And, THAT reminds me of the tv show where there are 4 shark guys, that battle evil.
And THAT reminds me of a cartoon where there are dogs from different countries that work together to fight evil. One dog was a Godlen Retreiver from the USA, and another was a Collie from Scottland or something.
Wow, you guys are making me remember the good cartoons, from before they started getting boring. :P

I didn't think everyone here hated me, exactly.. thats clsoe though. I thought some responses to some of my posts seemed agressive, and since I didn't see anything like that in threads from before I got here, I thought it would be better if I left.
Thinking about it, I think maybe I just over-analysed some posts until they seemed aggressive. Or maybe the people who posted them had a horrible day in general.
Anyway,as for actual description
The series involved these strange warriors, they could have been robots, or their visual attributes and ability to transform could have made them seem like robots.
Anyway, they had the ability to transform from a humanoid form, into creatures that were usually dinosaurs. I think there was a Smilodon and something else though.
The villains had something of a dragon theme, but I remember it not being much more than a theme. A couple of them were dragons, but the main villain was an Ankylosaurus or something similar. I think there were a few Allosaurus-like things that were part of their army.
Those characters were all animated using CGI, the human characters and everything else was the animation style used in most anime
I'm not too sure about the characterisation. My memories of it have probably faded slightly, but in addition to that, I remember getting home from school once and seeing an episode not from the start, and a ot of the character development stuff is usually towards the start in these shows. Maybe on weekdays, by the time I got back, that part of the episode was usually over. I remember watching an episode on a weekend day at least once, but that was the second part of a two-part episode.
The country the show initiaally came from was probably Japan. I don't think America made anime style cartoons back then. I think I heard somewhere that the series got to episode 20 in America and then they didn't show the others*, but in many other countires they finished the series.
* - It didn't necessarily get cancelled in America. I've heard of the final episode(s) of TV shows not getting aired in America, the 'Godzilla' cartoon for example, but the channel still showing repeats.

Thats just because members here don't know how to behaive, or talk like adults, but given the age range of the forum, its a wonder...
I've never heard of the show. Wish I could help you out. try looking up archives of the cahnnel it airred on. Usually there are fan sites for older cartoons. :)

The shark one was "Street Sharks", who fought Dr. Piranha. I remember that show. I used to get all the fruity gummy snacks. :D
The Dog one was "Road Rovers", but I never liked it. Now "Pirates of Black/Dark Water" was good... :P

Thanks to the people who tried to help. And thanks to Atrophy Within for kind of explaining things about this board (I say 'kind of' because I think I'll never understand most of the peope on this board in general). I'm also confused as to whether I should leave or not now.
The name of that doctor in "Street Sharks" was actually "Doctor Piranhoid" or something like that. I don't remember the exact spelling but I remember that they made a pun from "piranha" and "paranoid"
And the dinosaur series mentioned by Atrohpy Within was either "Dino Avengers" or "Extreme Dinosaurs" I'm not sure which, but they used one name when they made their debut on "Street Sharks" and the other when they got their own series.

Hmm... I browsed Wikipedia and read about it a little. Sounds cool. It makes me wonder just where the heck was I in 2000? If I recall corrrectly, I was a TV addict. Oh well, some things go under the radar, like Zoids, for a while (otherwise I would have 20+ technozoids, but that's beside the non-existant point) . Uhh... I know little about it except that I saw an action figure on a website next to a Bio Megaraptor. Yeah... I'm soooo helpful. Was there ever a DVD or VHS release of it? Oh, and before Plush forget, *waves bye as she munches on a fig bar, staring gloomily out a window facing a highway with Super Mario Brothers Z playing in the background* I'm not sure what it means either. ;)

Only old cartoon shows I really remember well now are the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Biker Mice from Mars, although Swat Kats sounds familiar.
EDIT: And Centurions!! I can't believe I forgot to include that show...I used to LOVE that show...

Ooooh yeah. Johnny Quest. Am I alone in the belief that the remakes of Johnny quest with "Quest World" were alot cooler than the originals?
