Title: Mc Donalds Toys

Hdorriker - February 26, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
Some of them are based of another toy which evokes impressions of light zoidery (by the mere fact that it involves mechanical animals).

They are miniatures of those Roboraptor/reptile/hulky golem things.

Looks like McDonalds finally found a way to get me to actually go there and order a happy meal.

Those Fiends.

JammerLea - February 26, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Hey, how about saying what the toyline is called? XD *looks it up*

WowWee Robotics? o_0 Haha, those things. XD Aww, the raptor is so cute! I wouldn't mind getting that one. XD

Ohh, My Little Pony too... I love MLP... EXCEPT WHEN THEY HAVE THOSE BIG SCARY HEADS. *sobs*

Geno Saurer - February 26, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
So do these miniature versions actually walk around?

JammerLea - February 27, 2007 12:15 AM (GMT)
Check it out :D

http://www.happymeal.com/robo-mlp/

It says what they do and has demonstrations. :3

Geno Saurer - February 27, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
For some reason, I prefer the regular roboraptor thingy to those wones. They've changed it considerably.

Void Dragon - February 27, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
Too bad the actual Robo-raptor is $100. I have nada, and only get money once a year.

Fury OD - February 27, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
7 years ago, I would have black mailed my parents if they didn't take me to MDs every day for those things....

But now Im all grown up, n will only threaten them.. :)

LolZz..J/k...

Hdorriker - February 27, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
I didn't need to blackmail mine. I don't even live with them.

All I did was just go to the McDonalds near my house and say,
"Hi, I'd like a happy meal, with extra meat, hold the happy, and make sure the toy is dinosaur-shaped"

I didn't even get a weird look.

HaTcH - February 28, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
Lol.. Dude, I work as a cashier, when you've been there long enough, you've seen EVERYTHING. (You probably got some looks from the n00bs there though ;))

JammerLea - February 28, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
Lawl, I'll agree with Hatch on the cashier statement. A comment like that would probably make my day.

Hahaha... my mom brought me home one of the My Little Pony toys. XD;; Oh well!

HaTcH - February 28, 2007 04:44 AM (GMT)
Lol, when my mom was in Vermont, she stopped at a McDonalds and got a toy from that one movie.. The Wild or something? With the bear and teh deer?

The toy she got was the deer XD

Damn... some people in the UK want to ban McDonalds. For some reason they think there's nothing wrong with trying to force their lifestyle on everyone. Well, the Burger King most convenient for me to use ran out of burgers a long time ago, so it closed. If they succeed, I guess at lunch breaks I'll have a lot more spare time than usual. But I guess I'd have more time to think of ideas for the Bakuryuu Photo Comic site (when I make the site).

Speaking of which... Hatch, is it okay with you if, on some kind of links to other sites section of the BPC site, I put a link to your site? I'm asking because you (and Hdorriker, to an extent) inspired me to make BPC

HaTcH - March 1, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
Definitely, and once its done drop me an email and I'll stick a link up to it :)
(Though, is this to be linked to LU or the other site?)

When it comes to Burger King/McDonalds and forcing of lifestyle on other people..., I dunno, I think thats a load of bull crap. If you don't want it to change how you live, then use the most powerful thing you own, your $$$! People vote with their dollars, a business that does not receive money will not last! Same with Wal-Mart. If it was such a bad thing for small towns, don'tcha think that would only be the case if EVERYONE in the town was anti-Wal-Mart?

"Oh noes! The Wal Mart has destroyed our small town values! Aiiiiee!"
Feh, wake up.

JammerLea - March 1, 2007 05:01 AM (GMT)
I don't like the Wal-Mart in my area because it emanates an aura of EVIL. So I go to Target. <3 (BIG difference, eh??)

I liked McDonald's, then I really liked Burger King (which was good for when I worked there), but now I'm sort of in between.

I remember my mom telling me that when she was young going to McD's was a special event, it didn't happen often. Now there are people who go there daily... I wonder how that lifestyle DID change?

Thanks... and, it's to be linked to the KSZ site

Yeah, I used to like McDonalds, never really liked BK, but then only a few years ago, I re-discovered Wendy's. Now if I want some fast food, its Wendy's baby!

@ GS: k

JammerLea - March 2, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
Wendy's is good, but a bit $$ for me (and not as close), but I LOVE their broccoli & cheese potato! SO GOOD. <3

Haha, my mom got me another My Little Pony toy from McD's. XD;;

Targeteers UNITE!

I too choose to shop at target, it's so happy and I love the strong branding they have.
It's like walking into some kind of postmodern Superflat-style animation except with real people in it. Or at least, it does not interfere with my desire to see it that way.

As opposed to Wal-Mart which, while cheap as hell, is like being slapped in the face with a stale slice of ugly reality (and not in a gritty cool way).

Sorry Wal-Mart, but having an elderly, emphazema-addled guy trying to suplement his subsistence social security income by working as a 'Greeter' does not put a smile on my face. In fact, it forces me to think about tragic situations and presents me with a dilema:
Wal-Mart is an unpleasent place to be in BUT, Wal-Mart is employing this tragic greeter, which may have been the only thing the individual could have gotten for work that he/she can do in their present health, and so my shopping there helps this person out indirectly.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the Target branding is starting to feel so very false. Like a lot of sugar to distract from something else.

I was much happier before I actually *thought* about this.

And that's when I go to places like McDonalds and say: "I'd like a happy meal, with extra happy. Lots of extra happy. Just pile the stuff on. More happy than actual meal... I don't even care what it's piled on, I need that happy." and end up with a small cheeseburger topped with hallucinogenic substances.

Which I swear has never happened before.
:ph43r:

BTW: Zeke-esque mini roboraptor toy is currently Zork the Pteras' significant other and has joined with him/her/it atop one of my speakers in a platonic relationship.
They discuss how totally inappropriate and revolting KSZ is.

while sipping tea and clearing their 'throats' every other sentance and saying, "Oh dear my"

Geno Saurer - March 2, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
Is it true that Wal-Mart and Target sell almost anything? I don't think either exists in the UK. I heard somewhere Wal-Mart bought Asda and Asda is now part of Wal-Mart, but I don't remember seeing an Asda in the last few years either.

Fury OD - March 2, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
Lol..I think so..You could buy Games to food there...I think..

Im begining a job there...

JammerLea - March 3, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Target and Wal-Mart are department stores. Basically EVERYTHING under one roof. Food, clothes, furniture, entertainment/electronics, toys, office supplies, gardening supplies (and plants!), pet supplies/small pets, tools, car repair, etc. etc. etc.

They don't have as much selection as specialty stores, but their CONVENIENCE is really giving specialty stores a lot of trouble, which is why they are sometimes looked down upon in smaller communities.

*EDIT*

Ahh, Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discount_department_store

I guess they count as DISCOUNT department stores. And most of them are becoming Supercenters - it's the supercenters that have grocery aisles.
