Title: The games of our dreams....
Vega - September 7, 2004 04:03 AM (GMT)
ok here is the basic idea. If you could create your own video game what would it be like.
Would it be a fighter, RPG, or some combination of genres.
Would it be based off an already existing idea (anime, movie, ect) or would it be completly origional.
Describe the story if any and list some options and modes of play.
Well, have at it

I reallllly would like to see a Digimon game that isn't somewhere between 'average' and 'sucks ass.' Bandai has been the publisher and developer for pretty much all the Digimon games, and well, they're not exactly one of the best game companies around. My dream game would have characters in it that Bandai simply refuses to put in, including WereGarurumon (he's my fave and he hasn't been in a single game, and no, Card Battle doesn't count), AeroVeedramon and Cyberdramon! Helllooo, at least have Cyberdramon in -something-!!
Actually, I've never played Digimon World 2 so these guys -could- be in that game. Anyone care to confirm for me?
P.S. I'd prefer a fighting or an action game, but I'd take anything, as long as it's above average. I thought they'd do a good job on Rumble Arena 2, but the lack of any characters sorta dampened my interest. Regardless, I still want to get it.
Drk-X - September 7, 2004 05:20 AM (GMT)
um, i think WereGarurumon is in World2, considering he's hidden in the boxart..

Any type of game? Well, I've always been prone to a virtual reality simulation.. thing. Ya sit in the chair and can pick your game (personally I'd pick something like pokemon or zoids, mainly because of the fact that actually living in a world like that would be really cool).
So you sit in the chair IRL but can walk around the world and do stuff, meet other people who are playing and stuff like that, combat and weapon sims and stuff would be cool too.
*Drools* I know it's not exactly original, or a game really, more of a system.. but still. *Drools*

You 'think'? Well that's not good enough. You can see pictures (not in-game) of WereGarurumon in the strategy guide of Digimon World 3 but he's not in the game at all! They like to deceive you!!!

My ultimate game would have to be another 2D metroid game similar to Super Metroid or Zero Mission. You would be able to play as Samus, but you also had the option of switching to Dachola or the Etecoons as save rooms, and each had their own abilities. At the end of the game you could free an omega metroid, and be able to play as it the next time you played the game. If it was 3D, it would be cool if you could fly your ship to different areas, and there would be pirate ships and airborne creatures you had to fight on the way.
Alternatively, a third person 3D Loom sequal would be awesome. Loom was a really good (IMO) SCUMM graphical adventure game released in the early 90's. They ending set up for a sequal that was never released.

Loom was the only LA adventure game that I didn't like. I guess it's because it sure confused the heck out of me. I'd prefer a sequel to DoTT, Full Throttle or even another Indy adventure game (by that I mean 'point and click). Unfortunately, the genre is dead. The public doesn't want to play those types of games anymore.

That is why I liked .hack//SIGN so much. A VR interactive game would just be fun. I like the idea of MMORPGs, where you can meet up with friends and kill things. XD
Yet in the "Reality Check" comic book by Tavicat, they have a VR system that can be used to create your own house basically, and then network it together with your friends' places so it'd be like a neighborhood. I think that'd be pretty darn cool too. <3 Though not exactly a "game" per se with any set goals, just for fun. (Makes me think about what Wolf told me about Sims Online too.)
The game of my dreams... well I can't think of anything original, but I'd love to have a game with O'Connell in it. <3 I sure have my priorities straight...

VR games like that would be incredible. Monster games (pokemon/digimon/YGO) would be perfect, so would FPS games. What I think would be funny would be VR sports games...what would be the point, you could just go outside and play.
A game that I would really like is a Transformers game. Preferrably one based off either Beast Wars or G1. The Armada game I heard was ok but there was a sever lack of characters (only OP, hotshot, and Red Alert were playable) and there was some issues with the controls and overly hard boss battles. An absolute must would be the option to play as the Predicons/Decepticons.
Oh, and a good Gundam game might not be that bad an idea either. None of the ones I've played have been that good.
BIGPHISHOWNSYOU - September 7, 2004 11:51 PM (GMT)
Umm..Any type of Game except the typs like:Mary Kate and Ashley Mall Mystery..A game that would be REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY long..Like it would take more then 1 hour to beat..1 hour being the time I can beat most games these days :-D

I would like a Zoids Game that would be held online. It would be like VS but with online play against other people, and tournaments would be held and such. Also there would be updates every once in a while for new zoids, weapons, and such.
MrGuy - September 8, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
My perfect game...
One of them would be kind of like an action/RPG game. You'd be able to completely customize your characters, so that it was almost impossible for two of the exact same players to be seen. Next, the graphics would be superb... like, blow your socks off good.
Now comes my favorite part. Fully reactive environments and news places to go everytime you turn on the game. There would be wild life to see... and they would act as an ecosystem, not just always come to kill you. Kind of like you're exploring...
I have other ideas... but I'm running low on time. I'll maybe post a followup.

As long as it also came with some sort of plug-n-play controller to make things easier. I don't like playing with keyboards (hence the reason I don't generally play PC games).

A VR Gundam or Zoid game. One with exquisite detail and 100% correct in any storylines stuffed in. The ability ti fully interact with the world. Exactly like you live in it. Even live an entirely different life in that world. That would be the game for me... not to mention multiplayer and full sensory perception.
