I'm thinking of actually purchasing a domain for ZE. I know there's not a whole lot of you left here, but just to be nice, I'd appreciate your input on what you'd prefer as a domain name.

zoidsevolution.com and zoidsevolution.net ARE TAKEN.

So aside from silly little ones like .tv or .info, the next best is zoidsevolution.org

Aside from that, all I can do to get a .com is put in a hyphen for zoids-evolution.com

I just can't decide which I like better. o_o

I know sometimes my opinion is glossed over and seen as trite and meaningless because I haven't been with this board forever, however, I'd like to see the hyphenated dot com rather than the org. It's easier on the eyes, in my ever so humble opinion. XD

The .org one because the hyphen key on my computer sticks sometimes and the minus key is missing altogether :blink: .

zoidsevolution.org would be my vote, as it's simple and most of the time, hyphenated domain names are hard to remember. For example, pretty much all the 2 word domains that are at all popular, are not hyphenated...

myspace, youtube, livejournal. .... ligersunion... :P

Jammer, if you're looking for a place to host it, you can grab a really cheap hosting package from 1&1 (thats who I use)... And if you register by following some link they gave me, they'll cut me a break for hosting for a month or something... :D

Lets see... you can acutally register both domain names, zoidsevolution.org and zoids-evolution.com and it would still be dirt cheap. Through 1&1, I have ligersunion.com and rhysman.com registered under the same webspace... Proof: http://www.rhysman.com/lu/ X3 They'll take care of renewing the addresses and stuff. It's pretty slick :D

Alternately, you could set up one domain (like zoidsevolution.org) to point to ZE, and make another (like.. jammerlea.net) point at your home page. Eventually, thats what I'm going to do, I just haven't got the motivation to create my personal website.

I get a bill of like $22.46 every.. 6 months I think.
The closest to my plan they offer is the 1&1 Home Package.

Hatch, she already has a host and knows who she is registering with. :D Don't worry about it. Relax. I'm sure she'll be happy to take any content and coding suggestions, though.

I don't like .org, it makes me think of charities and such. Then again, .com makes me think commercial.

zoidsevolution.org makes more sense and reduces the chances of making an error when it comes to the - in zoids-evoution.com. That's just my opinion though. Plus I could go into the whole meaning behind the .org extension cause it implies that the website is the byproduct of many people, thus .org=organization. Instead of the one. Or something like that. :lol:

I do like both. And Jam made a point to me the other day that if dot com became free, it would be easier to make the transition over to it from the org, rather than the hyphenated version.
I honestly don't mind either. And I think most people here don't mind. I don't think anyone will start sobbing if the end result is not the way they voted for. XD

As I have previously said, I am not as interested in Zoids as I once was, however this is a nice turn around all the same. :D (And quite a surprise when I came back here just to get the URL to my reminiscence post)

If only to be a memorial to what ZE once was, I feel that this is a great turn of events. While I'm a terrible web designer (never could get the hang of it), if I can get my butt into gear I'll help in any way I can. :)

I like the hyphen best. Org would be ok, but I dislike the words smushed together.

I dunno. I personally would say go with zoids-evolution.com because it looks better, and its a .com so its easy to find for newer fans.

But meh, Google will find anything, so i dunno. Which ever you choose should work just fine.
