Interesting eh? Well, not really...

Drk-X - September 22, 2004 12:13 AM (GMT)
hmm, did you use a rain tutorial to get the rain? i remember seeing one...i experimented and got something similar

user posted image

yup, they look similar cept i had less rain

The Zombie - September 22, 2004 12:30 AM (GMT)
I used a tutroial to find out how to do rain. I chose to use that much though to resemble the storm I was portraying. The lightning I figured out myself by messing around. I'm still not good at removing objects from backgrounds though. There is a lot I still don't know how to do. So foar I'm just readng the tutorials and doing them to increase my knowledge of it.

That way whenI get to that class in my college that does that I will be ahead of everyone and get better grades!

Drk-X - September 22, 2004 12:34 AM (GMT)
lightning is fairly easy, just use clouds > difference clouds > then invert to get a basic lightning effect...

The Zombie - September 22, 2004 12:36 AM (GMT)
Tell me about it. I was just messing around and found the lightning thing by mere chance. Glad I did though, means I can make my own lightning! XD

Blade - September 22, 2004 12:46 AM (GMT)
Hmmm I like it :)

I wisH I had ImageReady...:(

VegaObscuraTheKing - September 22, 2004 01:01 AM (GMT)
Vega: *big smirk*

The joys of downloading....XD

Vega: *hides from the FBI, RIAA, and Adobe*

Vega: I didn't take it I swear!

0.o Good job, laddie. I'll have to try it.

The Zombie - September 22, 2004 01:05 AM (GMT)
ImageReady comes with Photoshop I think. At least it comes with the latest version.

Vega - Like they can really stop people from dling it. I dl stuff all of the time and you think I care if its illegal?

Blade - September 22, 2004 01:08 AM (GMT)
See I don't have Photoshop; I have Photoshop Elements. Cheap version XD

Cheapskate. :ph43r:

Like I got room to talk. I borrowed the instillation disc(s) from a buddy of mine.

Blade - September 22, 2004 01:33 AM (GMT)
Heh and that' isn't Cheapstake? At least I paid 50 bux for mine!

Drk-X - September 22, 2004 04:37 AM (GMT)
Photoshop 7.0 costs $300....along with ImageReady.....hmmm.....

Capitila - September 22, 2004 06:15 AM (GMT)
Damn all you people with your fancy "Photoshop's" and "PaintShop Pro's". *Glare*

Looks pretty cool, needs a border though and the rain is a little thick. But still, good for a first go.

I hate using tutorials, never remember anything from it and I just gotta keep going back and doing it step by step, so I never use them. I rather to just look at the final result and see if I can accomplish the same effects in GIMP.

The Zombie - September 22, 2004 02:37 PM (GMT)
The reason it is so thick is its supposed to be a storm.

Blade, I paid him 20 to use the disc(s).

Blade - September 22, 2004 04:39 PM (GMT)
That's still much better off than a full price lol.

Caps, GIMP is basically the same thing as Phtosohop except harder to work with :\ So really, you're in the PS club :)

Capitila - September 23, 2004 07:32 AM (GMT)
Eh, I always thought that PS had a lot more effects and stuff for using filters and stuff. I'll get it.. One day.

Tilly - September 23, 2004 08:14 AM (GMT)
That, and GIMP is free and runs well on my old computer...I bet Photoshop would give it problems.

Although I do kinda want to send the GIMP people some money...it's just that cool.

And yeah...GIMP has tons of filters and whatnot, but a lot of them are just kind of hidden places and you have to poke around. That's half the fun-finding things you didn't know existed. *pats levels tool*

Blade - September 23, 2004 03:59 PM (GMT)
Yeah well Photoshop is more advanced than GIMP, but if you can use GIMP to full extent, you've beasically got PS.

HaTcH - September 23, 2004 05:22 PM (GMT)
The lightning looke really fake... But something you could try would be a disolve effect into the following frames to make it sortof fade-out. Having it for one frame every like 3 frames is in essence too flashy.. Id say add more rain frames and less lightning and then it would look awesome. Though its a start and is something nice to work from. Nice job.

The Zombie - September 23, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
I get you HaTcH. I was just fooling around wheni made it. I've progressed a bit since iI made that and could probably make what you are talking about now. I still have alot more to learn though... like removing objects from pictures with out deleting part pf them be accident... <_<

Blade - September 23, 2004 11:59 PM (GMT)
Well when you can make things independently and without tutorials, that's when you are ag ood graphids designer.

And when you can spell, 'a good graphics designer', you're a decent speller. =P
lol, only joking Blade, you probably typed quickly or some other random list of things to have reason for including a typo, I just like to stir.

You should try and add a house or zoid or something behind the rain and lower the opacity of the rain layer and then merge the two for animation. To make it look like it's really raining.. You know.

Blade - September 24, 2004 04:15 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm typo king XD. It's just an experimental effect I assume, so there'd be no use for him to add more designs to it unless he was going to put it up or something: \

But wiat...did you use CS for that or IMageRedy?

The Zombie - September 27, 2004 02:05 PM (GMT)
Imageready

Blade - September 27, 2004 06:40 PM (GMT)
Ah okay, I woulda suspected something if it was CS X_X

At any rate, I'm saivng up for CS start now...or maybe after I buy some Zoids? Or now...I can't choose! Okay, now!

The Zombie - September 27, 2004 11:14 PM (GMT)
Just use Kazaa... <_< Makes it so much easier. That or find someone wtih the disc and bum it off of them like I did... XD

K-62 - September 28, 2004 01:33 AM (GMT)
You can always download the trial, and do some cracking. *CoughIdiditcough*

HaTcH - September 28, 2004 02:06 AM (GMT)
Argh, and you guys wonder why PS is so expensive!

So much illegal copying...

Am I like the only computer saavy person here with legitimate imaging software? (PSP7&8)

Yes.

>_>;

Though I do have legit software for Adobe Photodeluxe 2.0. Yay?

And MSPaint. MSPaint r0xx0rz your s0xx0rs. XD

I agree with Hatch about the lightning. It's just too... constant? Like beats in a song, lightning should be more random. XD But other than that I like the lightning. File is fairly big though. @_@ But whatever.

What does "CS" stand for anyways? o_o

Capitila - September 28, 2004 06:28 AM (GMT)
CounterStrike..? *Runs*
It says on the site that It's Creative Suite... That doesn't exactly mean too much to me, if anything at all, just the full name of the software I suppose. X_X

Blade - September 28, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
Naw, HaTcH, I'm legit with Photoshop Elements 2.0 (soon to be 3.0)

And I'm going to buy the legal copy of Photoshop CS.... ::coughcheapstakescough::

The Zombie - September 29, 2004 01:10 PM (GMT)
I suppose the lightning IS too fequent but it was my first time using ImageReady.

Tilly - September 29, 2004 01:31 PM (GMT)
Nope. I've got PSP 6 (bought it ages ago) and GIMP (actually free)...no Photoshop, since it's too expensive and I actually like to buy stuff...

Blade - September 29, 2004 04:12 PM (GMT)
Well Tilly, isnce you have 6, you could upgrade to CS for only 180 bux....not that bad. I wish I had a previous version for Photoshop :(

Tilly - September 29, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
No, Paint Shop Pro 6...unless there's another version of PSP coming out I don't know about.

Like you have room to talk. <_< Your using the cheap version! At least I got CS and ImageReady. I used a Legal disc and paid for it... 20 bucks

Blade - September 29, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
Yeah but it's not your own. It's shared. Of course, it is legal because your friend gave it to you through permission, but it's not your own copy. I'm talking about authentic copies...that no one but you have. A unique one!

The Zombie - September 30, 2004 03:44 PM (GMT)
The software is all the same. I still got better than you do. So quit whining about actually owning the disc.

Blade - September 30, 2004 04:37 PM (GMT)
The software is the same but the validity and honor isn't the same XP

The Zombie - October 4, 2004 03:28 PM (GMT)
Actually now I can have the honor or what ever you mean... he gave me the discs!! ^_^ Said he was quitting messing around with graphics and stuff. Shame though... he was really good, better than anyone here. :ph43r:
