Title: Liger Morph
TheBlackCat - September 25, 2004 04:54 AM (GMT)
I made a morph between the blade liger and shield liger using some morphing software. I will try to improve th image further, but the morph itself is complete. I made a high quality version, which is smoother but is a big file, and a low quality which isn't as smooth but is a smaller file.
High Quality GIF AnimationLow Quality GIF AnimationI'd like to thank Zinou for supplying the blade liger and shield liger pics I used to make this.

Heh, very cool. Smooth and looks nifty, I like it. :D
Quality could still be a bit better with the background erasing and stuff, but it's really good.
How long did it take? How many frames? I could always open it in GIMP and see how many frames.. Meh.
Anyway, nice work!

Wow tht's very well developed, I like it, especialkly since Bladey's are my fav :)
I assume that's hand-drawn?

I wouldn't know how to hand draw something like that. I used some morphing software I have to make it, the same software I used to make my avatar. It took me probably 4 or 5 hours to do. In theory it isn't that hard to do, you simply put markers to show which point in one picture corresponds to which point on the other. The problem is it takes lots of markers, probably at least 100. The program is also extremely finicky, many times if you don't place the markers just right the morph will have artifacts in it, sections that do wierd things. So it didn't take that long to place the markers, probably a half hour, but it took a long time to optimize them and get the animation presentable. Also, each time you want to view the animation after making a change it has to re-compute the morph, which takes about a minute for a large, complex image like that, so there is a lot of waiting involved.
The low quality animation is 28 frames I think, and the high quality is 48 frames.
The problem with the edges is that I was planning on having a background, which hid the edges mostly, but I am having trouble getting the background to work correctly.

Wow, thats pretty neat. I like it. I wish I could make one with the Scout Fox going into the Shadow Fox... hehe... Good job. You gunna make any more? Thats an interesting thing to make. I was always wondering what something similar to that would be like. Good job. Lycan

So the Zoids you got were...from somewhere? I was talking about hand-drawing the base Shield Liger and Blade Liger.

Thanks!
Zinou gave the pictures to me, I think he scanned them from a soundtrack booklet but I am not completely sure.
I might be able to make more, the problem is the pictures need to be side views, and the two zoids have to be very similar. For instance, I don't think I'll be able to do a geno saurer/geno breaker because the breaker's claws will interfere. I might be able to do the scout fox/shadow fox, but I would need two side-view pictures in roughly the same pose in order to do it. If you can get me those I can give it a try.

Oh okay, I see. I love that XD Esp. considering I like Bladeys :)
Just out of curiosity, what proggy did you use?
TheBlackCat - September 26, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
It is called MorphBuster. It was free when I got it, but you have to pay for it now.

Awww man :\
Oh well, I'm not too much into that kind of stuff though so I'm good :\
