Title: Regarding the Warning System.

Zelos - October 4, 2004 05:13 PM (GMT)
It has come to my attention that certain people on the boards have discovered they can warn themselves. I was not aware of this before, and I don't believe there is anyway for me to disable this.

So, from now on, any member who is found to be tampering with their warnings, rather it is adding or removing them for any reason, will immediatly get 3 warning points added to their warning level. If the same person is found to do it again, they will get a 3 day ban.

This may seem a bit harsh, but I am getting fed up with people messing with their warnings. The Warning System is not a toy, and is not to be treated as one.

Also, if I find that anyone has a 100% warning level, regardless of how they got it (unless it was an accident and they can prove it) they will immediatly get a 10 day ban.

If you find out that someone is tampering with their warning level, please PM me with that member's name, and I will investigate.

Remember, warnings, both additions and removals are archived in the Admin CP. So I WILL know if you have been tampering with it.

I've been bugging people here to warn me, so can I get 3 more warnings? I deserve it! XD

...Please?

JammerLea - October 4, 2004 06:03 PM (GMT)
Wolf, just give it up already. =_=

Unabhängiger Wolf - October 4, 2004 06:36 PM (GMT)
Stupid mods. Just what do I have to do to get warned around this bloody place???

If I get in trouble, then I should be warned for it. Simple as that. You mods should act like mods.

JammerLea - October 4, 2004 06:47 PM (GMT)
And what have you done to deserve a warning?? We don't warn people JUST for disagreeing on some issues. -__- Which is the only thing I can think of, besides you badgering me from time to time. =P But I'm used to that, considering I've know you..what? five? six years now? I swear, if you make trouble I will decrease your warning level!

ChibiTysan - October 4, 2004 08:29 PM (GMT)
I did not know we can do it....HOW DO WE DO IT...............im not gona do it just wana umm........Look yes Look.

Blade - October 4, 2004 08:57 PM (GMT)
I have warned about 3 people in my history on these forums, and have never warned myself nor removed any warning (though I am going to remove a warning from one of the people because I've talked iwth then and settled it). So, yeah I am assuming I'm good to go? The ones I have warned were for legitimate reasons (...triple posting).

Only people with certain positions can warn themselves  or warn others, or decrease the warning levels at that. Don't worry about it, you'll just be tempted to play with it like everyone else was... except me. I already knew how to use it. I've decrease a coupleof levels and raised a few.

König Warrior - October 4, 2004 10:35 PM (GMT)
Blade, you are fine, you never messed with it.

Anyone else, regard Zelos' warning, the warning this bugs me just as much as him and if I find anymore of this happening I won't go to Zelos, I'll dish out his punishements for it right there.

The Zombie - October 4, 2004 11:23 PM (GMT)
Who said I played with it? I already knew how it worked! I've used it a couple of times before. <_<

Blade - October 5, 2004 12:28 AM (GMT)
Then why'd you use it i fyou ha dno reason for it?

Then why'd you use it if you had no reason for it?

I had a reason dummy! I warned people because they did something... and lowered Lycan's because I thought everyone had the ability to do it, and thought BPOU had did it to her level... other than that, I haven't even touched it.

I'm a genius. xD

I found that amusing. xD

Yes, that line felt funny to me when I wrote it too, it's hard to write posts like that when you're in a school class, where you are unable to visit sites the teacher does not approve of, and are supposed to be working (Which is also pretty fun, who wouldn't have fun with Flash and making a Shoot-the-Fox game :P )

However, I have now found the cause of the problem. MODS, as well as Global Mods and Admins have the power to warn people. Fortunatly, I am able to disable this now. So, I guess my first post doesn't matter any longer.

I will be going around and checking the warning logs and adjusting levels so they are where they should be without tampering.

König Warrior - October 5, 2004 04:05 AM (GMT)
Good, action, so what now, single forum mods can't warn? Because Global mods weren't warning.

Yes.

Blade - October 5, 2004 03:49 PM (GMT)
Yep, I noticed that just now. Look slike only admins can now, but I think Global Mods at least should have the power. When people spam, there's a good reason to warn them. When people double post (or triple post for that matter), there's a good reason to warn them. Global Mods can catch this.

Zelos - October 5, 2004 04:55 PM (GMT)
Global Mods can still warn. Powers for regular mods are set individually for the single mod, so all I did was go and edit every mod for every RPG forum so that they can't warn. Super Mods, Admins, and High Admins (root-admins, hehe) can still warn.

Blade - October 5, 2004 05:13 PM (GMT)
All righty, that settles that. I just hope that some global mods are watching for stuff like that in the RPG cuz clearly there's a lot of that in there.

JammerLea - October 5, 2004 07:33 PM (GMT)
You can always report a troublesome post or notify a mod or administrator about a particular problem as well. I usually shy away from the RPG, but if there's something that needs attending to, then I'll check it out. ^^

Blade - October 5, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
All right, thanks. I guess there's alwasy the report system if I can't do warning :\
