Title: I've Fallen At The First Hurdle!
Description: (Concerning the tutorial)

Hello everyone! I'm new here. Kris is the name, pleased to meet you and all that. I hope you are all well, happy, and creating good online projects.

O.K, i've fallen. It's something really simple, but its worded a little strange and I cant quite get my head round it...

Now it's time for a test run. Only once, you need to edit the DimensioneX configuration file worldnav1.properties, you will find it in your DimensioneX system folder, and modify the worldFile setting as shown below, so this tutorial game is loaded at startup:

worldFile=testland.dxw

I found the file (worldnav1.properties) but what exactly am I supposed to do with it?

If I come on here asking really noobish questions all the time, you'll never have to write another tutorial. They'll just have to come to this forum and check out my stupidity for the answers... :P

Thanks in advance.

The annoying thing is:

The rest of the tutorial makes complete sense to me. But I cant get on with it, just because I'm not quite understanding what I should do with this file here... :unsure:

Well, this is very basic.

Yes, open the file with a text editor (such as Windows notepad - usually it does it via right-click and Open), edit it and save. That's all.

'Newbie' note: While saving, make sure you are actually overwriting the existing file. Windows notepad and other editors sometimes try to add .txt extensions so they actually create modified copies of the file, which is not what we want.

Oh man do I feel stupid.

I was reading it allllllll wrong.

Thanks for the reply Cris. I'll be back on in five minutes with another most likely...

:D
