Rules & Regulations for Haven

This is a really simple board, basically a place for all of us to chit-chat and come to. (Especially when Hyperboards die on us). So I'll keep the rules as simple as possible.

General:
  • Please sign up as a member before posting at this board!! Don't double register either, though you shouldn't be able to if you're using the same email address. If you don't get a password after 3 days, let one of the Admins know. Our email is daretocry@yahoo.com.
  • Please respect all members of this board. Try to keep personal attacks to a minimum should there be any. Profanity towards TV Shows, Movies and Music is allowed, but swearing at other members is strictly prohibited. Everyone has an opinion and should be allowed have one. Please respect that.
  • Anything posted here belongs to Haven, and/or the poster. Please refrain from posting our stuff elsewhere. This is a matter of privacy. As well, no hotlinking. It takes up a lot of unnecessary bandwith.
  • EVERYONE MUST POST OR THEIR ACCOUNT WILL BE SUSPENDED AFTER 30 DAYS AS A ZERO POSTER!
Posts:
  • Do not write in all CAPS. Or like this "I aM mEsSeD iN ThE hEaD!". It is very very irritating. If admins catch you doing that, you will receive one warning, then you will be booted.
  • Please write in proper English. Yes, we post in English here! We're all educated and literate people. I see no point in using "net language" or "net short-hand". It is unnecessary and also quite annoying.
  • No pointless topics (aka threads). If you don't know what that means, you can always PM an admin with your idea before creating a topic.
  • No NC-17 or pornographic materials. This is a community for people of all ages.
  • NO DOUBLE POSTING! If you need to change something, use the edit button. Thanks.
Avatars & Signatures:
  • Signatures cannot hold any slanderous materials supporting Terrorism, Racism or Violence. If there are inappropriate materials in signatures, the Admins hold rights to erase them. You will receive a warning before hand.
  • No animation or video banners or avatars. Please keep the banners to simple *.jpg or *.gif pictures. This is so even people on slow net connections can easily access the board.
Thanks.

Major Changes

Due to the influx of new members, myself and angel have been doing a lot of thinking, especially with the Journals section. Many people put a lot of private stuff in there, posting here because they feel that they are comfortable in doing so because everyone here knows one another. But with the new people, I'm afraid that's no longer the case. As such, there has been a major change made to the permissions here.

1. There are two types of members now: "Juniors" and "Seniors."
2. Juniors will be unable to view the Journals. However, status can change as the member posts more and allows others to get to know them.
3. Seniors, what you can see at Haven has not changed. It will remain as it was before. Seniors are people who have Journals of their own, and are active on the board. There are some exceptions, as those people have PM'd me about why they are here, and others who are well known, friends with many members.

Juniors, if you would like to start a Journal of your own, please PM me, so I can change your permissions.

We are not opposed to new members starting Journals, but to protect the privacy and comfortability of the members here (including us, the administrators), we feel that this new move is necessary. However, if you disagree, or have an opinion to share which you feel can improve this community, please email or PM one of the us (the admins).

Thanks.

~Jaime
