Kingdom Hearts: Another Story:
The New Wielder; A Keyblade Story.

Day One: From The Ashes

The horrendous sound of a screeching alarm clock buzzed in the ear of a certain someone. It sounded as though a child was screaming, “Wake up, wake up!” A hand shot out and lazily landed on the stop button. “Alright, I’m up…” the figure attached to the appendage moaned. “Of all the lousy times to fight, he picked 6 in the morning!” Flopping out of bed with all the grace of a caught fish, he yawned and rubbed his eyes. When he managed to lift his heavy eyelids, he caught the sight of a dog drooling over his sheets. “H-hey Pluto! Cut that out!” he cried, yanking the sheets away. The dog whimpered and the body reached down to pat his head. “Hey buddy, you know I didn’t mean it, right?” the boy asked, reaching for the dog’s condolences. The dog replied by panting happily, and tugging on the boy’s hand. “Sorry boy, I can’t today, I promised *woof!* that I’d duel him!” (For those of you who don’t understand, woof means that Pluto barked at the moment the boy said that word). The boy stretched and put on his everyday clothes and walked out the door. “About time you woke up!” another boy laughed, slapping his friend on the back. “Hey, I’m still drowsy so stop that…” the boy replied, yawning. “Riku, Sora, when are you going to get over this silly fighting?” A girl asked, popping up between them. The boys both jumped back and landed sitting down, almost comically. “Kairi!” they shouted in unison. Kairi giggled and moved aside to watch them fight.

“You ready; Sora?” Riku asked, grinning cockily. “Always am, and always will be!” Sora laughed, getting into battle position. Before the battle could begin, two boys ran up the hill, screaming their heads off. “T-tidus, Wakka!” Sora yelped, “What’s wrong?” Tidus skidded up to Sora, panting. “Nobodies! Here on the islands! You’ve got to come you guys!” Sora and Riku looked at each other, and nodded. “On our way!” they replied in unison. As the boys ran down the hill, several Dusks could be seen attacking a young boy. “Help me!” he cried, tears streaming down his face. Sora and Riku ran down the hill, the Dusks turning to face them. As Sora attempted to summon the Kingdom Key, he found that he was unable. “W-what?!” he stammered, looking to Riku for reassurance. Riku looked back with a similar expression, unable to summon Way To The Dawn as well. Sora and Riku skidded to halt, with no weapon to fight the Dusks with. Suddenly, without a warning, the Dusks vanished off to a world unknown. “You okay?” Riku asked the child, cradling him. The child nodded and wiped his face. Sora looked to Riku with a grave expression. “We couldn’t summon them… you know what that means…” Sora murmured, as Riku nodded in acceptance. “It has begun…” Riku acknowledged…

Meanwhile, In Twilight Town…

Pattering footsteps could be heard running down a solitary alleyway as a boy ran into view. With spiky black hair and piercing red eyes, he charged past multiple shoppers through the Tram Common marketplace. “’Scuse me, coming through!” he shouted, weaving and bobbing in and out of multiple gaps. Following in hot pursuit underneath the ground were several Dusk Nobodies, chasing this boy for an unknown reason. “Hey Kyo, what’s u--” Seifer tried to say, was but cut short as Kyo dashed past him. “What’s his deal?” Seifer muttered, when the Dusks suddenly popped up. “Oh no!” Kyo said, seeing the Dusks attacking his friends. “Hey, I’m over here you bullies!” Kyo cried, waving his hands. The Dusks turned face and began chasing him once more. ”What’s up with this, why are they following me, and what are they in the first place?!” Kyo thought frantically, rounding a corner. He hopped on one foot comically to lose momentum, but there was nothing funny about this scene. As he looked behind him to see the distance, he saw that the Dusks had disappeared. “Hah! Probably knew they couldn’t catch me!” Kyo laughed. As he turned back around, he skidded to a halt. The Dusks were directly in front of him.

Kyo looked around frantically for a ways to protect himself, but found none. “No, please, don’t hurt me!” Kyo tried to bargain with them. The Dusks, unheeding, started to advance slowly. Kyo began backing away as one of the Dusks pounced. “Noooo!” Kyo screamed, putting his hands up to shield himself. He waited for the pain and the suffering, and cracked an eye open slightly when none came. He looked and saw that the Dusk was frozen in mid-air, not attacking. As Kyo slowly lowered his guard, the Dusks began backing away. It took Kyo a while to notice that there was something in his hand. He was holding what appeared to be a sword, but it was reminiscent of a key. He held it up to examine it, and found that the Dusks back away once more. “Heh, so you’re afraid of this thing…?” Kyo muttered, taking a step forward. The Dusks similarly took a step backwards. Kyo grinned and started sprinting, swinging wildly with the sword in his hand. Suddenly, the world turned pitch black as Kyo fell into an abyss. “H-hey! Help!!!” Kyo screamed, falling as the world closed in over him.

As Kyo awoke, he found he was sitting in a void. He blinked a couple of times to help his eyes adjust to the darkness and noticed a cloaked man in front of him. Kyo leapt back and involuntarily summoned the Keyblade. “What the…” Kyo murmured, looking at the Keyblade. “So; it is you!” the man chuckled menacingly. “I don’t know who you are, but you come any closer, and I’ll cut you up!” Kyo yelled, waving the Keyblade around. “So we have finally captured the legendary Keyblade Wielder…” the man said. Kyo lowered the Keyblade and looked at the man quizzically. “I don’t who what you mean by we, but I’m no legendary… Keyblade wielder? Is that what you called it?” The man simply chuckled. “Do not play dumb.” He growled. “As for we… well… this should be self-explanatory…” the man laughed. Suddenly, 7 more figures appeared alongside him. “We are Organization 8, formed From The Ashes of the mighty Organization 13…” the group murmured in unison. “Okay, now you guys are just plain crazy,” Kyo said, backing away slowly. “Why do you want me anyways?!” The man advanced. “We want; no, we need the power of the one… Roxas…” he hissed. Kyo jumped back and screamed as the world went black. “It was all just a dream…” Kyo murmured, rubbing his eyes. “But what an odd dream that was…” he whispered. “Then keep dreaming Kyo…” a man in black laughed, perched on the rooftop of Kyo’s house…

Day Two: Ready? Struggle!

Kyo steadily rose and looked around his room. “Man, that was a crazy dream…” he muttered to himself. He looked towards his calendar. “Oh man, I totally forgot, today’s the Struggle Tournament!” Kyo yelped frantically. Leaping comically out of his bed, Kyo rushed to eat and get his clothes on. “Man, Seifer’s going to be so mad!” Kyo berated himself skidding and running out the door.

“Where’s that lagger anyways?!” Seifer yelled angrily, punching the wall. “He promised me we’d fight in the finals!”

“Seifer, I’m here!” Kyo yelled from atop Station Heights.

“That idiot, how’s he going to get here in time?!” Rai laughed moronically.

Beginning to run, Kyo gathered speed down the hill, throwing his skateboard down, he leapt upon it and began to fly down Station Heights at ridiculous speeds. “Oh man, I can’t look!” Kyo yelped, covering his face with his hands.

“Well would you look at that?” Seifer laughed, watching Kyo blaze down the hill. “So the idiot had a plan after all!” he chuckled. “I just hope he’s ready to lose!”

Kyo slided to a stop in front of Rai, Fuu, and Seifer. “Sorry, I’m, Late!” he panted, falling off his skateboard. “I totally forgot today was the Struggle Tournament, and I overslept…” Kyo smiled weakly. “We’re still on though, right Seifer?”

“You bet!” Seifer grinned, helping Kyo up.

“Welcome to the Struggle Tournament!” the announcer roared into his microphone. “Today, the best of the best gather to Struggle in an attempt to be proclaimed this year’s Struggle Champion!” the announcer yelled as the crowd created an uproar.

“Geez, its frickin’ insane out here!” Seifer said as he walked through the crowd. A path opened for him, hailing him as the previous year’s champion. “Heh, I’m going to take it again this year, you guys just watch!” he yelled arrogantly to the crowd.

The tournament progressed regularily, with Kyo, Seifer, and a man known as Mystery R reaching the semi-finals. Due to the irregular number of people, Seifer and Mystery R would face off and Kyo would Struggle the winner.

“Get ready to fight me Kyo!” Seifer grinned as he went up onto the stadium. Mystery R simply turned to face Seifer and drew his Struggle Bat, nothing more. He was wearing a black cloak that Kyo felt was somehow familiar… he couldn’t shake off the feeling… when suddenly he thought he saw a Dusk.

“W-what the?!” Kyo said, turning around to look for the Dusk.
“I-incredible!” the announcer cried. Whipping his head back around, Kyo looked back at the stadium. Seifer was on the floor prone and Mystery R stood above him, cloak covering his face.

“No way…” Kyo whispered, shocked to core. “How… how did he lose so fast… who is this man?!” Kyo murmured, looking up at Mystery R. Suddenly, a chill went down Kyo’s spine as a computer hissed in a laboratory…

“Restoration at 27 Percent…”

“Mibu Kyoshiro, Entrant Number 3, are you here?” the announcer asked to the crowd. Kyo dredged up the stairs, to what he felt was his imminent doom.

“I’m here…” Kyo replied numbly, drawing his custom Struggle Bat. Kyo had it built in the shape of a claymore, simply for the reason that it was his favorite kind of sword.

Mystery R took off his hood, revealing a grinning visage and long black hair tied into a ponytail. He drew a large ornate bastard sword with a Roman Numeral Four etched onto its blade.

The announcer staggered back. “That’s not allowed!” he yelled to Mystery R, showing extreme fear on his face. Then the world froze in place.

“Recognize it?” Mystery R laughed at Kyo. “C’mon, its Chronos Cleaver!” he yelled. “Get it through your head, what’s wrong with you?!”

Kyo simply fell down on his behind and stammered. “W-what? I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

“Are you serious?!” Mystery R screamed to the sky. “Its me, Ryu, Trinity 3? Organization 8? Don’t you remember anything?!”

Suddenly, a large Soul Eater Keyblade appeared in Kyo’s hand. It appeared as a claymore.

“See, there we go!” Ryu grinned. “Its Agenda of the Fallen, know you must surely remember?”

Kyo looked down dumbly at the Soul Eater the entire time. “What… not this again.. it can’t be, it must be another dream!” Kyo laughed stupidly. “That must be it right?”

Ryu shook his head. “Me, Number 2, The Cleaver of Time, and you, Number 3, The Tinkerer Of Souls, you honestly don’t remember? What about Xephosthir?” Ryu sighed sadly.

Kyo stood up. “No… I’m sorry I can’t help you…”

Ryu looked up and grinned suddenly. “Well then… guess what… Ready? Struggle!” Ryu yelled, charging towards Kyo.

Stabbing with Chronos Cleaver, Ryu attempted to pierce Kyo’s stomach. Deftly blocking with his Soul Eater, Kyo lept back.

”When did I learn to do this?!” Kyo thought to himself.

“Not bad!” Ryu roared before charging once more.

A battle known forevermore in history as the Clash of Trinity began that instant. Ryu slashed at Kyo with his blade, as Kyo leapt backwards. A dark aura surrounding Kyo, Kyo charged at Ryu and leapt into the air. “Soul Augment, Sonic Slicer!” Kyo yelled, launching multiple blades of air. Ryu deftly slowed down time to stop the air blades and moved out of the way. When he turned back around, Kyo was already flying across the floor towards Ryu. “Darkness Agenda!” Kyo yelled, appearing in front of Ryu and slicing swiftly with a Soul Eater charged with darkness. Ryu quickly blocked and smashed his fist into Kyo’s face. Kyo flew backwards yet landed gracefully. A dark aura surrounding the entirety of Kyo’s body, he began hovering in the air. “DarkSoul Aura!” Kyo roared as the area went pitch black. Kyo literally flew across the room dealing multiple slashes to Ryu, yet Ryu blocked them all. When the area returned to its normal state Kyo was panting and Ryu looked unharmed. “Soul Splicer!” Kyo roared in one final attempt, shooting a thin beam of light from the tip of his Keyblade towards Ryu. Ryu finally looked worried as he leapt back.

“If that hit, I would’ve been dead…” Ryu muttered as he turned to face the beserk Kyo. “Try to remember who you are…” Ryu said, before a portal of darkness opened and he vanished into it…

Day Three: So Much More.

Kyo stood panting in the middle of the Struggle field as time reverted to its original state. Suddenly people were scrambling to get away from the battle scene when suddenly the announcer roared:

“He’s not here! Mystery R is gone!”

The commotion skidded to a halt as people searched around to confirm the announcer’s retort. It was true; Mystery R had vanished without a trace. All that was left was Kyo, sweating and panting, holding a… oh dear… a sword…

“It’s him! It’s got to be!” the crowd roared at Kyo. “I bet you it was all nothing more than a trick put on this guy!”

Kyo stumbled backwards and tried to stammer out a couple of feeble excuses. “I-I-it wasn’t me I promise you guys! You know me better than that!” Kyo mumbled. “It wasn’t me! You all saw him! Mystery R was real!”

“Liar!” the crowd screamed, pelting Kyo with various concessions. They advanced angrily, thoroughly convinced that the entire tournament, Kyo had put on some form of elaborate hoax; switching back and forth from Mystery R to Kyo to ensure his victory.

“Wha…?” Seifer groaned as he got up. “It was all over so fast I…” he started to Rai and Fuu, when he saw the spectators forming a mob around Kyo. “Hey what’s the big idea?” Seifer yelled angrily.

“Your so called friend staged the whole thing! He was actually Mystery R and he cheated so that he could win the Struggle Tournament!” an angry passerby yelled back.

“That’s not possible you morons!” Seifer roared angrily. “He was in the stands watching during the time of my fight! And I can tell you; Mystery R is not Kyo, he was way too strong! Almost… inhuman…” Seifer said. The last few words of his retort trailed off, to be unheard by any ears but his own.

Kyo turned face and ran as fast as he could from the area, with angry roars of, “Capture him!” hot on his trail. The beginning of tears forming in his eyes, he cursed the man called Ryu. He had ruined his life.

On a nearby rooftop, a mysterious man shrouded in a black cloak with a gold Roman Numeral One embroidered on it watched the scene. Several long strands of silver hair flitted out from his hood occasionally.

“ It’s all going to plan…” a deep voice rumbled from the cloak.

Kyo didn’t stop running until he reached Station Heights. At that point he collapsed against a wall, slid down, and began sobbing. Why him? Why was he chosen to be a pawn in this game? Ryu had shattered all he had worked so hard to built, the image he had… wait… image?

The computer hissed, “Restoration at 100 percent,” as Kyo’s memories came flooding back into his empty mind.

He was a member of an organization known as Trinity 3, a specialized group of Nobodies created to fight Organization 8. He was number 3, the Tinkerer Of Souls. The chosen Nobody to wield the Soul Eater Keyblade, he was assigned the case of Twilight Town, it was thought there was a nearby headquarters for Organization 8 in the area. To improve his chance of success, his old memories were to be erased and replaced with new ones. An overdrive would occur and reinstate his memories only in the occasion should he fail and be recalled.

The façade of his existence would consist of a new name, Mibu Kyoshiro, and false memories that would allow him to become a member of certain social groups within the teenage population of Twilight Town.

In fact, his real name was Xavel, and he knew not whose Nobody he was. All he knew was that his other must have been chosen by the Keyblade…

At this realization, Kyo stood up and wiped his tears. With a new resolve to confront Trinity 3 about his mission and the odd method of his recall, he turned to board one of the docked trains.

Odd warmth spread from his midsection down. His mouth agape, he looked down and noticed a long silver katana protruding from his stomach. Blood was seeping down his body and nobody seemed to notice. Time appeared to have been frozen once again.

Xavel turned and gripped the arms of his assassin. “Why… why Xephosthir?!” Xavel cried. He slid down and felt the katana be pulled from his stomach.

“Because you foolishly resisted…” the one known as Xephosthir replied sadly. “My son… there was so much more you could have been…”

The cloaked figure walked off into a portal of darkness, unfroze time, and let Mibu Kyoshiro; no Xavel, lay there and die.
