Title: MegaMan on Cartoon Network
Lunar - August 25, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
So, I was just like looking through my TV guide, and I saw that MegaMan was on CN tonight, at Seven (my time). Any body heard anything about it, or any thoughts. I had no idea, until like 3 seconds ago.
Ejsaxdude - August 25, 2007 09:58 PM (GMT)
Okay then I'm not the only one who noticed it then...I'm recording it, but I have no clue what it is.

I'm pretty sure that's what it is. And I'm recording it to.
Edit: Sorry Pz, it says it's StarForce, although I'm still watching it.
Unit B - August 25, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
It's Star Force, but my TV's description describes it as classic. -_-
Guy Phoenix - August 25, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
xDDDDDDDDDD!!!! It's Megaman Starforce, and it's horrible!
Ejsaxdude - August 26, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
It's not Horrible it's pretty good so far :(
Chibi Goku - August 26, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
And people keep asking me why I only watch subs... I think you would have learned by now, any dub airing on Cartoon Network is massive fail. Adult Swim is a slightly different matter however.

They're gonna get sued for 'Mega Punch" xD
Chibi Goku - August 26, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
Interesting, I heard that Starforce skipped a number of episodes like most of the Harp Note arc. Can anyone confirm this?
Saint PhantomZero - August 26, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
Regardless of this being taken for Spam, it's not. Why? Because what I'm about to say, reflects my feelings on this being StarForce.

It stopped in the middle of the fight with Geimini Spark. The boss fightsare all out of order compared to the game but thats about it. I thought it was pretty good B/

I just got a detailed description from a friend of all the episodes, and indeed they skipped over ALOT of stuff. The whole Harp Note arc, the actual intro of Gemini Spark and more. *sighs* Would it kill them to at least air episodes in the correct order...
Endling-fanatic - August 26, 2007 01:56 AM (GMT)
They only got about 13 episodes for it, so basically they wanted this as a test run. Cartoon Network won't air 7 minute long episodes, they'd blend 3 of them together for 1 episode.
I'm about to watch it, then expect a full review.
This i9s from the point of view of someone who has never seen a single Japanese episode of Ryuusei.
Unit B - August 26, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
What they showed today was horrible, the voices are terrible (but that's expected) and they skipped (literally) ten episodes, and cut out over half of another one they did show.
Endling-fanatic - August 26, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
Okay, my review-started out great, ending could've been better. Considering they only showed a quick look, we can expect it'll become a show on CN.
The voices were suprising, and I can't remember why Luna's voice sounds familiar. Cygnus's voice is by Gaara's voice, anyone notice that?
Voices were better than I expected, really good actually. Oh yeah, lots of you say, "Hell no, they sucked". At least they sound their own age. That's the good thing about English-ified anime's. They make people sound their own age to make kids undertsand what's going on, without thinking "Hm? They sound too old, and act so young...I'll do the same!" Anime released in America is aimed solely at the audience of people that HAVEN'T seen the Japanese version, so that they can get their own idea of things going on.
And yes, they messed up the order that appeared in Japan, right, and that some episodes were missing?
They did this as a stunt to grab attention make the NEW players think "Wow, how''d this all happen?" and then they'd make the episodes out in the RIGHT order, to make people think, "Oh, so that's what happened. I wonder what'll happen next?" like they did with D+P, release the first couple episodes in a special, then run the series with the same episodes in their right place and everything going good.
Basically, this was a good start. Zach's voice could be better.
Also, some people complain the FMians appeared in the wrong order. Hm. That's NEVER happened in another MegaMan show before(cue beginning of Axess and SHADEMAN appears).
Every game that has a TV counterpart will NEVER be exactly like the game itself. Examples are every damn MegaMan game and show, as well as Disgaea. That show made less sense than Bobobo.
This was a good special. Can't wait for the real deal. I know it's coming because, hell, "Squirrel Boy" still runs, and that sucks giant turd balls. MegaMan Star Force, a competent show with a PLOT, that'll have to stay around.
MegaWarrior - August 26, 2007 11:51 AM (GMT)
O_o...Ive watched it on Toonami Jetstream..I didnt know they had it on CN yet..lol...guess like I wont need to go to a friends house anymore ^^. I think it was good...mainly because ive only seen the english versions so far and I havent played the game yet >>..
Zerorush - August 26, 2007 12:42 PM (GMT)
I honestly didn't find the dub to be that bad except for the massive editing of the time line of events, but it was a pilot so thats normal and to be expected. Fanatic is probably right about them re-airing the episodes in the correct order once it has its final approval to air in a normal time slot.
Blades - August 26, 2007 01:43 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I don't care of the difference between Japanese subtitled and dubbed. To me, it doesn't really matter, because it's a show. Now, if you do want a GOOD English anime, Dragon ball Z was great. I'd agree with Ending-fanatic about voices. If they sound their age, then it's good.
Chibi Goku - August 26, 2007 04:11 PM (GMT)
I think the person who voiced Luna was the same one that did Rika in Digimon Tamers, though I'd have to double check. They do sound quite similiar though.
MegaWarrior - August 26, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
-.- Dragonball Z. I LOVE DBZ! I LIVE FOR DBZ! DBZ IS TEH BEST!!
Ehem.
Back on subject.
I might look at the Japaneze ones..

THAT'S IT! That's who it was! I knew it was eerily familiar, but when she went all lovey dovey I lost all traces of who it could be....
Unit B - August 26, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
Same here, I knew I'd heard her voice before, but I couldn't tell because the characters are so different. And Geo's voice is teh fail, sounds like an adult.
Endling-fanatic - August 26, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
You try losing your father and act like a kid. Just an example.
Unit B - August 26, 2007 11:15 PM (GMT)
I didn't say he acted like an adult, I said he sounded like one. His voice is way to deep for a 5th grader.

That Is True.oh yes long intro :\ Music opening is really terrible.

maybe they need to say it faster :\

There's actually a few moments in the subs where that happens too. No idea what was going on, but generally unless your looking for errors(like I do) you don't notice anything.
Aaron - August 27, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
Wha?Poof. Wrong. I watch subs mainly they don't is it because the people who are dubbing MMSF are being lazy of putting the voice together with the lip synching.
But Yeah overall its still a great show.

There's always a few syn errors in every dubbed anime, just be glad it's not as bad as it was made out to be at the release.

Some kids voices mature quicker then others, I myself had a deeper voice then others by the time I was in 5th grade.

Im In 6th :P.
Well Hmm Well Every dubbed anime huh?
Zerorush - August 27, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
I prefer more mature voices on characters anyway. Sure Geo has the voice of a seventeen year old, but its alot better then having him sound like a high pitched squeaky voiced kid who's still going through puberty.

Well you have to have SOME connection between the voices and the character's actual age. It's almost a requirement in most anime.
Zerorush - August 27, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
I found nothing wrong with Geo's voice personally. Characters in Digimon for example had deep voices considering they were still pre teens in the first season, Geo sounds no older then most of them.
Unit B - August 27, 2007 10:44 PM (GMT)
Who said the voices in those were good.
Axel - August 28, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
I honestly thought it was pretty good. The voices were mostly fitting, and the skipping isn't really very bothersome, except at the parts where Omega-Xis is supposed to leave Geo and Geo already knows of Gemini's existence. Keep in mind that, as already said, they were only contracted to 13 episodes, and these four were simply a "test run".
Hyuuga Tennet - August 28, 2007 04:00 PM (GMT)
i didn't get to see these... i came home from vaca too early so no more cable tv lol
