Title: Zelda Phantom Hourglass

Effle - September 17, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
Pre ordered it about a month ago. Gonna be great. I'm in love with LoZ, and PH looks like it's going to be awesome.

Faiyukan - September 17, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
Well I prefer OoC and TP, but it doesn't seem too bad.

Zero - September 18, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
I'll probably get it when it comes out. As long as it's not as bad as Minish Cap, everything should be fine.

Minish Cap wasn't THAT bad, better than Four Swords. Still prefer A Link To The Past, the remade version that's much harder.

KamikazeLord - September 18, 2007 05:01 AM (GMT)
I loved Minish Cap you two suck D:

Faiyukan - September 19, 2007 12:15 AM (GMT)
How was the remade version harder? (I never finished it)

Zelda OoC? Either you mean Oracle of Seasons/Ages or Ocarina of Time? Ocarina was pretty good, Twilight Princess is great except it's less amazing for the fact that I've played it before (good gameplay but it's not as exciting once you know everything).

Faiyukan - September 19, 2007 12:44 AM (GMT)
Ocarina of Time. It was considered the best game ever created, and I'm one of the supporters of that statement. I haven't played TP yet, and I'm sure I'll love it once I play it, but it won't be as good as OoC.

Btw, if I meant Oracle of Seasons/Ages, I would've put OoS or OoA.

Unit B - September 19, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
Then stop typing OoC. It's OoT, Ocarina of Time, with a "T".

Zero - September 19, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)
It stands for Ocarina of CRAP >[

Yeah, Twilight Princess was an awesome game, but I'm not sure if any game can beat out OoT just because of how much time I've spent playing it and all the memories I've had with it. Oracle of Seasons was pretty cool too.

Effle - September 22, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
Well, like IGN said, Zelda TP is the best Zelda game. Don't get me wrong. Zelda TP is the best Zelda game if you HAVEN'T played OoT. For it's time OoT was better. Like, a long time ago a game like Zelda OoT looked perfect, newer, and modern. Now, the graphics are somewhat outdated. But again, playing TP will make you like it better than OoT. (OoT is a lot better to me than TP because I did play OoT first).

EDIT- IGN gave it a 9/10. That's pretty good. Plus Famitsu gave it a 39/40, which is pretty grand in my opinion, though I do see some cases where Famitsu is somewhat biased, especially with Nintendo. IGN didn't give it a high a score as I would have hoped, but nonetheless, I still want this game. The only thing that slightly turned me off to this game was the difficulty level, but what the hey, that's not everything.

Oh and something else worth noting-
"As a special bonus for Nintendo's rewards club, My Nintendo members who register the game and their Nintendo DS hardware at MyNintendo.com and fill out a short survey will receive a special Nintendo DS stylus that looks like an old-fashioned quill pen, modeled after an item in the game (subject to availability). "

Link -------sorry for the pun =), it's almost unavoidable.

Effle - October 3, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
Well, I have it. It's pretty great. The stylus seems like it's gonna get in the way, but it really doesn't. It really does feel natural. Ocassionally, you may do the wrong thing and sometimes it feels a little weird... I stopped playing today because I hear it's short, and I just beat the first dungeon and the first boss. I couldn't find out how to beat the first boss, but once I did, I felt dumb. I'm at the part where you have to find a way to get through the Ship's fog.
Anyone else have it?

Oh and it's not as easy as I expected it to be. I've already died about four times. Either the game isn't THAT easy or I'm not very good =( I'd prefer it'd be option A...

Effle - October 5, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
My favorite quote so far is "It's scarier than I imagined. And I imagine some scary stuff."

Wow, just beat the 3rd dungeon. The boss is really really great. Let me summarize the 3 boss battles

* BOSS SPOILERS*

1- This guy seperates into 3. On the top screen, it shows the enemie's location. I played with the boomerang and with them and somehow combined them. I couldn't do it for like five minutes. Then, I noticed they each had a horn on top of their heads (top screen). I noticed one of the had one, one of them had two, one of them had three. I combined them in order from 1-3 and did this 3 times and kill the boss.

2- There's this thing flying up in the air, kinda looks like an Octorock. It's not too hard to figure out how to beat him and both screens aren't vital to beat him. He flies in the air and makes a shadow in the air. Then you throw bombs on whirlwinds in 3 directions, and throw them when his shadow hits the whilrwinds.

3-This is my favorite boss EVER. The top screen shows the room from his point of view, plus he's invisible on the bottom screen. So what you have to do is look from his point of view and use the bow and arrow to make it point at the proper direction and shoot him.

Effle - October 7, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
Ok maybe some of you are tired of me posting nonstop, but it really is great. I just beat it like an hour ago. The final boss doesn't disappoint. Also I think Linebeck is probably one of the best Zelda characters EVER.

Bellum BOSS-SPOILER

I hated his first two forms (temple, boat), but the final one was awesome. I also loved it when Linebeck picked up the Phantom Sword and slashed at it, I thought it was so freakin' cool. I wish you coulda played as him and fought Bellum =( Nonetheless, it was cool. It actually felt like a dramatic duel, like Link vs Ganondorf. Except this was cooler, one against one, no magic or anything just sword and sword.

Effle - November 3, 2007 01:29 AM (GMT)
I popped in the game after a couple of weeks and although no one seems to have bought this game, I'd like to point out that today is Point Day. Extra points for every thing you buy (5x). So I bought like 6 things and got up to 200 points. By the way the prize is VERY, and I mean VERY rewarding once you get VIP...

456blaa - November 3, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
ok for one tp is only better because of grapic wise AND IT FREAKEN SAYS THAT THE CLOTHIG BELONGED TO THE HERO IN THE PAST!!!! THAT MEANS OOT!!!!! dude oot rocks no contest (no if all they did was upgrade the grapics but kept the game the exat same oot would rock outould even more)

Tennet - November 4, 2007 10:53 PM (GMT)

Tennet - December 7, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
so now i've had a DS for about two weeks in in about 3 days or so worth of playing i'm in the ice temple :D and it is quite easy....

The Magnificent Steiner - December 7, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Phantom Hourglass was fun. I beat it last night.

...I totally thought you would get to fight as Linebeck. I feel so robbed.

Tennet - December 7, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
i just need the demon anchor and i have the demon set, i'm working on the iron(number 3) set as i wait for the anchor to show up...

The Magnificent Steiner - December 7, 2007 11:46 PM (GMT)
I have the Golden set, minus the cannon..

Ejsaxdude - December 8, 2007 12:44 AM (GMT)
My little bro had the game so I played it. I liked it, and I almost had the full vintage set. I just needed the cannon and anchor.

Tennet - December 8, 2007 03:58 AM (GMT)
Saber told me you get the gold set for free...

The Magnificent Steiner - December 8, 2007 12:19 PM (GMT)
Uh, somewhat. I think I have to buy the cannon somewhere, but you can find most of the Golden set through treasure maps. But I know Beedle sells the Golden hull for 7000.

Tennet - December 8, 2007 05:49 PM (GMT)
ahh, so i'm nearly done with the ice temple i just have a couple puzzles to solve and i should be to the boss, i really need to set up Wi Fi... trade some of my spare boat parts... i wish i could GBD with the iron set.... *points at prow* its a drill :P

Tennet - December 10, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)

Actually I think you can only trade parts via adhoc (or just regular wireless gameplay). I had most of the golden set, then realized: what's the point if I already beat the game? I had all the Wisdom Gems, had the Sword'sman's Scroll and had every other set excluding the complete Demon set. PS, about the S Scroll

Cool way to beat *SPOILER*

Bellum

Wait until he does his whirlwind attack, then proceed to draw the three circles and make your own spinning attack. Spin around for a while, for dramatic effect, then clash together before Link gets dizzy, and then it will go to the "Rub" thing. Really feels great =)

Taiki Kebin - January 27, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
lol i should try that, now i do have WiFi, but there seems to be no trading thing?

Mr Pork - January 27, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
Did any of you get the feather stylus? I did and although I don't use it it's nice to have =) And like I said above: you can only trade parts with people that have Zelda near you, not long range online Wi-Fi.

Taiki Kebin - January 27, 2008 10:55 PM (GMT)
gar, thats only one person, i think there was one more on the forum who got the stylus, i got the DS though

Grimm - January 28, 2008 03:39 PM (GMT)
I can't figure out that part where you gotta press the seal of courage against the sea chart. I aint going to Gamefaqs, either.

Taiki Kebin - January 28, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
lol close your DS...

Tennet - June 24, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)

lol close your DS...

Well, my cousin told me he was having troubles, so he asked me to try. I just thought it would put the DS to sleep...it took him a week of trying that one part before he finally checked the internet.
