Is the anime any good? I've heard the manga is good but I don't feel like reading manga.

The anime deviates quite a bit from the manga's original plot for 10+ episodes, but it's recently regained its identity. I would recommend the manga, but if you're not into reading it, go for the anime. I'm also quite fond of the anime's openings. :hmm:

In any case, D. Gray-Man isn't the "best anime of the year" type of show (coughgurrenlagann), but it does have its moments. Simply skip over the fillers and you'll find it enjoyable (hopefully).

For everyone else who doesn't mind reading manga, I recommend the manga rendition of this series. There is quite a bit of uninterrupted action.

I watched like the first 16 episodes and I think it's pretty cool so far. I might start reading the manga.

I caught up to 57 (latest subbed ep so far) and I have to say...the latest few episodes (52-) where REALLY good. It's like I'm watching a completely new show. People were right when they say this picks up after the fillers.

Lavi's my favorite so far. Allen is ok, and so is Lenalee, but from the looks of it from the new ending, it looks like she cuts her hair later or something. yuck

I've read up to chp. 93 in the manga, and I can't wait till Allen gets his new innocence in the anime, though that probably won't be for a while. At least we'll get to see Lenalee's cool fight pretty soon.

And Kanda is freaking awesome. I think I might like him more than Lavi, who's been kinda annoying in the manga (i started reading from where the anime left off).

Too many people who hate Sasuke watch D.Gray-Man and compare Kanda to him. Kanda is just badass. Sure, he'll crack that bean sprout crap with Allen, but he's badass. (H) Not saying Sasuke isn't.

^lol, well I wouldn't know, since I don't read/watch Naruto. :(

Kanda was kinda bleh for most of the series, but after he came back with like two swords or something he's been badass. (H)
