I like the Yuki one, it has kind of a picturesque look to it.

It's hard to say. Both are good. I'm going to have to go with piece 1 - though I can see the Photoshop Default Lens Flare. Kudos on how it doesn't appear as such. :P

Piece 2. It's smooth, clean, easy on the eyes, but you can tell that good work has been put into it. Text could use some work, but the placement is alright and it's not bad. As KKL said, it looks rather picturesque and fitting for the character portrayed.
Piece 1 looks a bit sloppy. The lens flare is too obvious. I like how the artist used brushes sprouting out of the gun. There's a bit of white around the somewhat blurry render, and the background looks like it's just black with some round orange lights. Text is okay, though I don't really like the red and brown bubbles behind it.
