Title: NetBattle Etiquette
Description: (the way these things work)

Okay first of all

NO GOD MODDING! this is rule/polite thing to do #1

Okay the way a rp battle works is that you may dodge eachothers attacks until one can no longer dodge because it would be impossible without godmodding.

Rule#2: Please dont make up abilities for your navi on the spot, try to set an agreement with your battle partner, its not fair when someone traps you and then fires a weapon, and you teleport out of the way.

Rule#3: No 3 or 4 liners, those are for regular battles. The point to being in an rp is to have fun and provide details, if you say

Exampleman.exe shot his buster cannon at Metaurvirus.exe
you dont give much detail or information, just that he fired his cannon, simple and easy to understand but boring and a standard battle move. A better way to do it is

Exampleman.exe looked left and right, scanning the net. At first he saw nothing suspicious. But upon a double take he noticed that there was a small virus with a hat, and pick axe. He immdeiatly recognized it as a metaur virus and fired his buster cannon at it hoping that it would contact and delete the small pest.

By doing this you let them know what the thing your fighting looks like, and you let them know how your navi feels about it, you give a small introduction, ontop of keeping it simple enough to understand. You dont have to give full explanations of every little blink, but it is nice to give some sort of detail, it takes some of the fun out if its fire dodge fire.

Rule#4: dont always dodge, as children many of us played imagination games, where we told others what they said or got told what we ourselves said. He would make up reasons why our friends attacks missed or didn't work, or perhaps we where never willing to go down and die, even when our friends had clearly won. Dodging all the time can be anoying and eventualy lead to a negative change in realtionship and possibly a quit of the battle.

Rule#5: Dont auto hit. This becomes extreamly anoying and is pretty much cheating.

Rule#6: Be willing to die, as i mention in number 4 you have to be willing to loose, if you are not willing to loose an rp battle, then dont participate in one. Its that simple

Rule#7: If your going to leave a battle let someone know, dont just leave them haning its rather rude and will make them angry or upset.

Rule#8: Dont double post, unless you have to dont double post, try not to bump it, if someone is gone for a while send them the link in a pm(sugestion not requirement), to remind them and let them acess the page with ease, but dont get imaptient or entirly give up, they may be having difficulties getting on.

These are all guide lines, if a mod makes them rules, then they are, but until then this is just a member letting you know how to rp battle.

Rule#2: Never use an ability not listed in your navi's profile, or a chip you dont have. If you want a chip or ability you dont have, during the battle, you must buy the chip/ability/program, if it does not exist take it up with a mod or admin.(the exception is if before the battle you list the abilities that are not on your navi's thing before the battle part starts and the oponent is okay with it, remember work together to work against eachother fairly)(not me im not im just laying out the guide lines.)

I looked over your PM, and I'll address some things as you requested. If I don't list a note on one then I can't find anything to point out.

Notes on Rule 2: An RP battle is just that, an RP battle. People are free to use what they wish, even if they don't actually have it since RP battles are just for fun and nothing else. This has long since been common sense since we put in the RP Battles forum over at Proboards.

Note on Rule 3: I agree on some points, but you have to remember that not everyone is at a level to type out whole paragraphs. As long as the person doesn't godmod and has a general sense of how the battle is going when his/her turn to post comes up, their free to make it as long or short as they wish as long as it can be understood. Rule 3 is a good one when writing stories though, it's just not for every RPer.

Note on Rule 6: There's one thing I need to point out. Sometimes people forget that they were in on an RP battle or they just can't log on. It's honestly no real problem, since people usually assume that someone can't get online due to real world issues. IE school, family etc...

Note on Rule 7: You don't HAVE to send them a page link. Generally the RP battles board has everything on the first page. But yes to the no double posting. That's why we have the Modify Button.

Usually people know the general RP Battle rules which is good enough, though it would be good to have an expanded list someplace for the newer members to RP battles. Clean it up a bit and I'll see if we can put this someplace.

If you're going to write a set of guidelines for RPing, at least take the time to use proper spelling/grammar. Also, I kinda agree with Chibi that...you can't really regulate RP battles. If two people are battling and they want to have three or four line posts, that's fine. If someone RPs that way and you don't like it, don't RP with them. Now, if you're running an RP, that's a different story. Then you can enforce whatever sort of fancy limitations you want.

On another note, Rule 5 is pretty much the same as Rule 1; auto-hit = godmod.

I hate losing RP battles but seeing a good RPer post his/her victory post is one of the best things. all the rules here are mostly comon sense and fairplay. these rulles usaly are on any site with RP battles. so lets play fair people and everyone can realy enjoy this site. I know i will.
