Okay, we had this argument in school. Everyone believes that Puerto Ricans can move far better than Jamaicans. When it comes down to it, I believe that Jamacians are better.

They said Reggae ton is better than Reggae. It makes no sense seeing as how Reggae Ton came out in like 2003. Reggae has been around since probably the 1960's?

I'll be continuing this debate here.

The amount of time something's been around is not a measure of how good it is. I don't know the subject, but that's just my curiosity.

Though Reggae Ton is a knock off version of reggae, with a redundant beat while Reggae constantly changes. That doesn't show how much better REggae is?

Half of what you said is true. The other half is a joke beyond all measure. Despite being a puertorriqueño, both music genres turn me off greatly for varying reasons, the key reason is the redundancy of their music. I don't even know how you can possibly think that Reggae is not redundant, unless of course you know absolutely nothing about music.

Either that, or you're foolishly attempting to defend a musical style that you don't actually listen to.

Now, I haven't heard every reggae song in the world, but 100% of the reggae I've ever heard has possessed the near exact same time signatures and instrumentation. I suppose it makes it easier for stoners to listen to after a massive intake of mota. On top of that, the rhythms that exist in the songs are often slow and drab. I guess it's just another connection to Reggae's stoner roots: slow, drab, mellow, and boring.

Reggae ton is no more innocent, of course. It possesses the same degree of needless repetition as reggae, but is opposite in nature. But, not as many Boricuas are into the weed and the dreadlocks and the funky hats. We like things fast-paced, to let our bodies go wild to the rapid beat of the music. Thus, reggae ton is fast. What I hate about reggae ton is that it's as stupid as modern rap:

¡PONGALO EN SU BOCA!

And then there are the dances, which essentially border sexual intercourse. With the stuff they do on those dance floors, they may as well just go all the way. That way I can at least sell footage for profit. Damn Puercos...

The bottom line: Neither is better than the other. To me, they both equally suck for their own reasons. But really it's a matter of personal taste. If you're into weed and dreads and funky hats, then Reggae may be beyond perfect for you. And if you want to live a scandalous life, filled with danger and illegitimate children, then by all means, go Reggae ton. The same goes with Puerto Rican moves and Jamaican moves. If you're into rapid beats where your likely to get an orgasm from grinding on your partner so much, then Puerto Ricans win. But if you're into the slow, mellow, stoner-world of Reggae, then Jamaicans are the victor.

But I'm sticking to the undying. Viva piedra, putos.

Let me rephrase this. I mean Dancehall. The newest version of Reggae. And yes, I'm talking of how the girls shake it. Because, it was a stupid arguemnt to begin with. But we're trying to see who can shake it better. Who can use teir bodies to their fullest? Puerto Rico or Jamaica. Either way, the victory can go both ways. Thogh I side with Jamaicans.

No race inherently shakes that ass better than the other. It all comes down to which girl got the ass genes from their mother and how they learned to shake it.
