In the world of Shadow Self, select humans have, well, Shadow Selves. A Shadow Self is the spiritual embodiment of a person, often born from a sense of self that would otherwise never exist in that person. You can merge with your Shadow Self to become a whole new entity with unimaginable power. But some people use their Shadow Selves for evil purposes. It's up to Hiro Akakishi and his Shadow Self, Red Knight, to stop these criminals.

Main Character:
Name: Hiro Akakishi
Age: 16
Desc.: Has short brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Wears a red t-shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers.
Personality: Cocky and arrogant, but still thinks of others... when it's convinient for him. Despite this, he has the heart of a true hero.

Shadow Self:
Name: Red Knight
Desc: A red suit of armor with red eyes and a ghostly tail (which all Shadow Selves have when not merged with a human) and a yellow ponytail-like thing on top of the helmet (I don't know what it's called).
Personality: A calm, even-tempered individual. Smart and cunning, he relies on his swordsmanship to see him through.

Merged form:
Desc.: Hiro is covered in the suit of armor (which has legs, by the way) and his eyes turn from chocolate brown to red. He also gains a sword.
Skills: Swordsmanship
Minor spells:
Fireball
A simple fireball.

Heal
Red Knight heals minor damage, Uses up a good amount of mana (which is required for spells), so he doesn't like to use it.

Longsword
Red Knight's sword increases in length.

Sonicboom
Does the same amount of damage no matter the foe.

Special Move
Crimson Blade
Red Knight's sword glows red, allowing him to cut through most anything.

Special moves require the most mana, and therefore, should only be used as finishers or a last resort. Also, the Shadow Self is in control when it merges with the human.

Name: Rae Kusanagi
Age: 15
Desc.: Has dark-brown hair and blue eyes. He often wears red clothes but will resort to blue and black ones occasionally.
Personality: Rude and arrogant in the outside, but caring and thoughtful in the inside. He continuously wants to become stronger so he could be able to protect the ones he loves.

Shadow Self:
Name: Tenkai
Desc: A yellow-haired, blue-eyed 18-year-old-looking individual whose white clothes and wings make him look like an angel.
Personality: A mischievous brat who loves chatting with Rae about random stuff. However, when in battle, he can be fierce with his sword and fire spells.

Merged form:
Desc.: Rae is suddenly covered in a red armor with white wings, and he gets twin swords along with ten throwing knives. His hair also becomes more spiky.
Skills: Swordsmanship and knife-throwing
Minor spells:
Fireball
Just any other fireball

Healing Light
Tenkai is able to self-regenerate for a small period of time, his mana decreasing as time passes.

Dragon Knives
By combining his fireball with his knives, the knives turn into mini dragons that move at Tenkai's will.

Special Move
Crucifix
Tenkai's two swords grow bigger, and the knives are stuck to them, 5 for each sword. The swords then move and trap the enemy by piercing it in a '+' pattern. There, the knives are unleashed as mini dragons as they pierce the enemy. Soon after, the swords return to their normal sizes and return to Tenkai, along with the knives.

Uh, minor spells include Fireball, Thunderbolt, Heal, Vine... you know, standard stuff that any spellcaster can use.
