Feez - June 17, 2008 02:35 AM (GMT)
Anyone here besides PR a fan of the SRW series? :thizz:

PhantomRiku - June 17, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
ME ME ME ME ME-

Oh wait, besides me.

:nomnomnom:

Feez wanna pwn this thread with vids? :feez:

Grimm - June 18, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
Hells yeah I'm a fan. As a matter of fact, I just recently bought a Gespenst Mk II model kit and gave it a custom desert camo paint job. I would put on pics, but my camera's busted. Oh, and I was thinking, if they ever made a SRW miniatures game, like with SD figures of the PTs and different pilot cards to go with them, would I be the only one playing?

OH DAYUM WE FOUND ANOTHER AWESOME GUY HERE!! B|

I've been playing SRWA3 for the past few weeks and it is brickshattingly amazing.

Tennet - June 19, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
=O this looks like a mecha rpg, always fun looking... XD going to look into this now...

Grimm - June 20, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
Sweet...I beat Super Robot Taisen twice with both characters, unlocked every secret PT, and beaten the secret ending, Final Episode. That's a total of 200 hours of gameplay on a GBA game. Now I'm working on SRT 2...

Masaki - June 20, 2008 02:31 PM (GMT)
SRW FTW! D=

I've already beat A-J including OG and OG2. I also just got OG Gaiden which PWNS. By the way Feez, Alpha Gaiden is pretty good too, I suggest trying that after Alpha 3 if you haven't already.

Meh...I can't afford to get import games. I can't even afford domestic games. Think they'd mind if I do a little emulation?

Masaki - June 20, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
If you can play Jap games, I suggest SRW J Grimm. It is hands down the best SRW game in the GBA. OG2 is the second best and J beats OG2 is just about every aspect.

Grimm - June 20, 2008 03:02 PM (GMT)
AWESOME GAME!!! Battle graphics are way better than in the american games. I also like the fact that it includes mecha that look like the classics. And is that Ryoto? I can't understand Japanese (yet).

If you mean the male main character then no, that's Touya. J came out after OG2, so no pilots from that game will be in J.

Feez - June 21, 2008 06:22 AM (GMT)
OGs 1 and 2 are great places to start, since both series are out in America, but that's only because there's no licensing issues...

Anyway, Alpha 3 is becoming shitbreakingly epic. I just got FINAL Dancouga, Justice (allowing me to do Justice/Freedom combo), Ryuseii, Strike Rouge, and there was this funny scene where Kamille fights Yazan. And from what I've read, I'm gonna get SGR back soon with SHIN SHINE SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARKUUUU

Grimm - June 23, 2008 12:34 PM (GMT)
18555. That could really help on the OG missions where to get battle mastery, you gotta kill some 20k hp-guy in 3 ROUNDS! Oh, and pity it wasn't Ryoto. It looked like he was actually starting to get cool...

Feez - June 25, 2008 06:11 AM (GMT)
Genesic GGG does something like 600k when he does Goldion Crusher in the story, lol.

People with epilepsy have it bad.

Shuryou - June 25, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
I've played SRW OG1 and SRW OG2 for the GBA.
I've played SRW W for the DS.
I've played SRW MX Portable for the PSP and currently busy with SRW A Portable for the PSP. I love Lamia Loveless and Angelg.

I've watched the OVA of Super Robot Wars and have watched a large number of episodes of the actual Anime, but not everything of it. Got distracted.

And this website is neat for true SRW OG fans.

Yeah the Gate of Magus, I have that favorited. :nomnomnom:

You've played MX? I've been wanting to play that, what are your reviews? I've heard both good things and bad things; but mainly good things, but I wanna hear your thoughts.

Shuryou - June 25, 2008 05:46 PM (GMT)
Well, I never got to finish MX because of the harsh relationship between me and the Japanese language... Which caused me to be unable to save. Or it was my PSP acting up. But MXP and AP are the two SRW games released for PSP, so I'm gonna go ahead and compare them...

MXP has some 'guest' mechs that are more interesting and cooler than those in AP, but AP has Lamia Loveless which I love. AP has a lot of old mechs in my opinion, while I got to enjoy Gear Fighter Dendoh and Rahxephon in MXP... AP wins when it comes to graphics although it's not that much different from MXP. As for the gameplay, it's hard to decide. MXP has the standard run-off-the-mill gameplay that you're used to in an SRW game. You may not know Japanese, but if you've played an SRW game and understood its gameplay perfectly then you'll understand this game too. AP, on the other hand, tosses a few extra things into it which bother me a little bit. Mostly the need for a specific level of your character to use specific attacks of your mech. For instance, Angelg's Code Phantom Phoenix and the Dragonar units combo attacks.

All added to each other, I must say I like the fact that you can choose your main character and his/her mech in AP... But it doesn't add anything really. Try choosing between Ashsaber, Vaisaga and Angelg for Lamia Loveless. You can't get the other mechs as far as I know.

As for MXP, you get to choose your mech but you've got your main characters chosen for you. And the screen outside battles looks much better. And the mechs in the game are cooler. So while AP is fun, MXP is better in my opinion. I suggest checking out some videos on YouTube.

Hmm I have looked over some of the MX videos (namely the G Gundam ones) and I liked what I saw, which first got my interested; even with my lack of a PSP. I asked around and found that the general census was that it was a good game from the SRW series; so I thought I'd try it out (even with no PSP D: )

As for A and AP, I went with Axel Almer and the Soulgain in A, so that's probably what I'd go with in AP if I played it. Otherwise Lamia and the Vysaga. I had my fill of the Angeleg from OG2. :feez:

Feez - June 25, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
LOL wtf I had the gate of magus favorite'd as well.

Feez - June 28, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)

Poseidon Zero - July 1, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
Oh yes, I love SRW, Alt Eisen and DaiZengar are my main mechs. This makes me want to make a SRW fanfic. With all of us in it. It'd be fun

Saint PhantomZero - July 1, 2008 01:05 PM (GMT)

Shiroko - July 1, 2008 03:59 PM (GMT)

Dibs on being a male version of Lamia Loveless. Standard Angelg, of course. : D

Grimm - July 4, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
I got my own character I made up, with a custom PT. I'd show a picture, but my scanner's busted, so, yeah.

Tennet - July 8, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)

Feez - July 9, 2008 06:25 AM (GMT)

Tennet - July 9, 2008 01:21 PM (GMT)

Masaki - July 9, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)

Dude Zengar and Elz--err, Ratsel are so pr0 even outside of the OG games. In Alpha 3 Tatsumaki Zankantou does 20,000+ damage easily.

Oh, and Ratsel overrides all the boss musics as usual. :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez: :feez:
