GameFAQs poll of the day on the 22nd asked, "Who is your favorite version of Mega Man?"

The result of nearly 80000 votes:

• The original NES Blue Bomber - 37.01%
• X, from the later games - 43.09%
• Mega Man Volnutt, from Legends - 5.82%
• MegaMan.exe, from Battle Network - 10.64%
• Vent/Aile, from ZX - 1.75%
• Geo Stelar, from Star Force - 1.7%

Of course, the majority was in the X version, since he was released at the time most young adults and teenagers today were born around.

Yeah, well, looks like the results were pretty much expected...

That question, up until Star Force and ZX were added, is wrong. Until Mega Man Zero, it should have been "Which Mega Man version have you heard of the most?" and not which they liked better. It makes more sense, really, since every time I say 'Mega Man' to my friends, they all say "X?"

...Uh, no. It is still considered which one is your favorite. Most people our generation have heard of X more than Classic because that was what was out at the time. Yes, same with classic but more people look at X because of its releases on Playstation. What you've heard about it not your favorite.

X was like the best to me in my opinion. IT did come out around the time I was born but the first couple of games I had were the classic Mega man. I like X because he looked awesome and he showed signs of evolution (If you can call it that.)

Megaman X (the original, for SNES) is one of my favorite games of all time. I loved that game to death, and I still remember this pass:

X was best, because it gave you the option of melee combat via saber, which I prefer to the buster.

X was great, it was the first megaman game I played. It had great power-ups and bosses.

Starforce is so simple, I can describe it in one sentence: Megaman by night , boring unpopular school kid by day! :lol:
