....Uh, what? I see normal footage. This 42 second scene was in the American movie?
or are you talking about the Sentai shows which are obviously popular in Japan because there is nothing :slowpoke: about that -____-

Wha? Your confusing me SPZ :thizz:
That was a clip of the American Power Rangers movie...dubbed in Japanese :psyduck:
I find it funny that the Japanese dubbed something that used footage from a Japanese show, seems a bit pointless eh? :ph43r:
Saint PhantomZero - July 17, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
You posted implying that they inserted japanese scenes into an american movie, thus I was confused.
Also, this movie is American. The fact that they dubbed it for japanese people to understand doesn't seem pointless to me. Because most japanese people do not understand english, aside from the random words they don't translate due to it sounding cool to them.
It's like why we dub foreign film. Because we don't understand foreign languages, regardless of any similar concept or not.

Let me explain. The Americans used Japanese scenes to make that movie, as they do with most Power Ranger shows. It would seem pointless to dub this movie into Japanese when they have the exact same thing.

I know exactly what he means, Kidd. I'm just saying that there's nothing wrong with them dubbing it? It's like asking why we dub foreign movies when we already have movies of our own.

You're sorta missing the point... They're basically dubbing the EXACT same thing that they already have in their language.

It was supposed to be a joke :C

And yet it's not the EXACT same thing. Regardless of the fact that American Power Rangers are based off of the Japanese Sentai Rangers shows, it is an AMERICAN show with AMERICAN actors and NOT JAPANESE characters.
I KNOW the point, I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with them dubbing it.

I believe that Zerorush thinks that the movie was made in Japan and spliced apart into a western show like the TV series, and finds it funny that it would be dubbed in Japanese when the American version is nothing more than the action scenes from the Japanese version with american voice acting and massive editing to Americanize the entire thing.
But, the movie was filmed entirely in America; there is no Super Sentai counterpart of this film. So yeah, basically there isn't any funny in there.
Unless you count it funny that our apparent biggest fan of the Power Rangers failed to realize that the very first movie was purely American footage.
I know I do.
Edit: I rescind a portion of that statement. Most of the movie was filmed in Australia. Nonetheless, I maintain that none of that movie's footage is Japanese.
