Title: Hero Apex

Axel - June 22, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
~ Name is tentative.

I'm starting a new project to work alongside Smash Project. It's called Hero Apex, and it'll be a Zelda RPG based on the Twilight Princess world. Of course, I'll stick to ProBoards... ;)

Enjeru - June 22, 2007 12:55 PM (GMT)
Sounds good, actually. Last good Zelda RPG I ever saw basically died before it truly began. If you make one I'm definitely joining.

Axel - June 22, 2007 09:51 PM (GMT)
I've seen a lot of good Zelda RPGs go down the drain, too, so I'm going to do my best with this one.

I'm actually looking for staff... would you like to become part of staff?

Advice! Muwaha ._.

You've always had trouble with staff, right Axel? The best thing I could suggest is to basically work on it yourself slowly and see who shows the greatest interest and wish to be staff. Offering random jobs to people who just show a common interest, doesnt normally work.

Not saying anything against Enjeru..just saying >.>

ElecNinja - June 22, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
I remember hearing Enjeru say that she was too busy with two other sites where she's an admin.

I think it was in the forum ranking thread.

Edit:
Here though her exact text says that it was for this site. I would think that she would apply the same logic to any other sites.

Axel - June 22, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Alright then.

DarkYuki, I think I'll take that advice.

DarkYuki - June 22, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
Good to know, perhaps with that you can get yourself some reliable guys. Good luck with it btw

Axel - June 23, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
Actually, the people I recruited were not people I just spotted. I had watched them and trusted them... but maybe I was wrong.

Well then, don't really know what to say o.o. Besides the trusting part, perhaps get to know them, friendship is by far more than trusting others.

Okay, dont listen to the freaky guy v.v; But thats what I suggest.

Listen Axel, I know I haven't really been on Smash Project lately, but I have helped with Administrative jobs, and I've been posting regularly. I just don't participate in the RPG like on EXE Warriors because it just doesn't suit me. I'm not saying it's complicated, I like it, but just posting around fills my needs.

I posted that on the Smash Project thread as well. Now back on topic: I've been looking for a Zelda RPG that would be great, and since your the admin Axel, it'll be an incredible site. I'd really like to be staff, because I'd be incredibly active on this one. I'm a super HUGE Zelda fanboy and I'd just really like to help out. You can obviously follow DarkYuki's advice first, which isn't all too bad, I'd just have to prove to you that I'm worthy of becoming an admin of your new Zelda RPG. So it''s truly up to you.

Axel - June 29, 2007 05:54 AM (GMT)
First. I'm thinking of three different types of battle systems.

1) Just a plain ol' roleplay system. Clean, refreshing.
2) A card game-like battle system. New, interesting.
3) A simplistic stat RPG, mostly circulating around roleplaying. Easy.

DarkYuki - June 29, 2007 02:01 PM (GMT)
card-game battle system. Sounds interesting. But then again, thats only my opinion sense I see pure Role Playing Forums a bit boring after awhile

Aya - June 29, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
Is the site done yet?

Rossebay - July 1, 2007 03:12 PM (GMT)
Dude I wanna join.

But I must say, Ocarina of Time was better, well, harder, more challenging and longer, than TP.

Axel - July 2, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
@Aya: No.

I know that Twilight Princess's lack of difficulty made it lackluster, but I still think it was superior. Oh, and by the way, I need a coder to help me with something.

Saraii - July 2, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
Sounds pretty kick ass, I'd help if I could.

Faiyukan - July 2, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
I could be the coder for you Axel. I could also help with Battle System related things. A card game-like battle system sounds incredible. Here's what I think the card game-like battle system should have:
  • Basically each card is an item from the Zelda games
  • Stats relating to every card (obvious)
  • A short description of every card (obvious)
  • Different types of cards (attack, defense, support, etc.)
  • Different types of each type of card (regular, continuous, activation, etc.)
  • Specials that can be triggered by certain events for some cards
  • Custom cards made just for Hero Apex

We could have Rank Points and have each card in Hero Apex have a certain rank. The better the card is, the higher it's Rank is, and the more Rank Points it takes away from your total. We could have it so your Rank Points replenish every battle, or have many Rank Points which, if used strategically, could last the whole battle. Basically Rank Points are like Action Points on EXE Warriors or Smash Project.

Rossebay - July 2, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
You should give our characters ranks, and then if we had a card of our char, it would have that rank.

Ooh, great idea! Just like how you helped with Smash Project! >_> Give me some time to think about it.

Ancient, that's a great idea. I'll PM you my test board -- I use it as the hamster for all my new experiments.

Axel - August 3, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
Well, now that the Popstourney (Smash Project) is almost finished, and everything is set, I'd like to really get serious with this project. Still on the lookout for staff.

Perfect Chaos - August 12, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
ill play, me wubs zelda!!!! *glomps zelda*

Axel - December 15, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
I'm starting this project, because I have time with winter break. First, I need graphics people who could help me make little, 100x100 icons for each of the cards. I can show you where to obtain Twilight Princess screen caps for the entire game. Furthermore, I will explain my thoughts on the card system in the General Board of Hero Apex; the link will be given to those who I think fit the job and are willing to apply. If you're willing to submit ideas, please do so.

Angeal - December 18, 2007 05:57 AM (GMT)
Alright, well I'm still there if you need me.
