Title: Pfft, kids don't know their history these days.
Zerorush - June 30, 2007 01:30 PM (GMT)
I was watching a review for Megaman X: Maverick Hunter when I saw someone make a comment basically stating that Storm Eagle reminds him of Tengu man from the "old" Megaman and that the spider boss looks like a ripoff of web spider from X4.
I basically just had a "Wut you say? :shrug: " moment. Honestly, should I feel old now? Since when did Megaman 8 become an "old" game and X4 suddenly placed in front of X1? :blink:
I've had similar situations like this at comic/Videogame stores where these kids have no clue that Megaman existed before the Battle network series and the abomination that is Axl =(
I weep for this new generation :cry:

I didn't know of megaman's existance 'till x5, but i knew that there were earlier game series. (Don't ask me how, but i just felt there was.) Unfortunately, where i live, megaman fans are hard to find, so i can't comment on other people's discover of megaman. However, those i have said anything to hate megaman due to Megaman NT warrior. (I hate you Megaman NT Warrior show.)

Lies! I know my historty despite my age. The first MM game I ever learned about was Legends. Then, I continued to learn more about MM. I went through every game, and here I am today, a total MM geek, nerd, and freak. Seriously.

with that Boss Spider from X1 being a rip off from Web Spider from X4, who ever said that mnust not know that X1 was created long before X4 so reaaly if that statement was true in anyway, it would be the other way around
the fact that hardly anyone knows about pre exsisting Megaman Games is because no one has a Nes or the Nes Emulator to play the originals games, it's all about graphics
there's one thing i've been getting alot on about kids not knowing their history and this is to the image that has been made about the past games, CAPCOM really hasn't helped, every kid i know that knows anything on Megaman thinks Megaman is for little 5 year olds, that you can squarely blam CAPCOM from with what they did to Powered Up, they make Maverick Hunter X cool looking but scrapped that look in Powered up, still, Roll looked cute, can't argue that, but if they target the games at that age level, you'll be getting kids acting like the Robot Masters
here are some examples
Cuteman= kid throwing sissors around the join
Gutsman= kid throwing bolders, possibly brakeing their back
Fireman= kid though fire as in light stuff and throwing it at other
Bombman= very young terroist
Iceman= kid throwing ice everywhere
Elecman= kid touching exposed powerlines.......... ZAP!
Oilman= kid throwing oil everywhere
Timeman= kid pulling aparts clocks and throwing the clock handles
and just image if it was Robot Maker on Robot Master
Cutman= makes kids bleed and pokes their eyes out
Gutsman= black eyes, broken backs
Oilman VS Fireman= laughing in 3........2........1....... HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, THEY'LL STE THEMSELVES ALIGHT
Timeman= just eyes getting pokes out, the handles aren't eneough to kill someone
Iceman= extremely cold, how many colds will there be
Bombman= ............ lets not go there, we know what will happen
Elecman= if the kid being Elecman lives to make an attack, if the attack hits, the other kid won't live
i left Roll out because who's ever going to ruin her name, why not just get a stcik then a broom

Honestly, I knew about Megaman before my own birth. Something about me seeing what my mom sees, and she saw my dad playing Megaman X3. And that's where my obsession with Megaman hit off. My first game system... It's in my family's museum, along with X4. My first MMX Game. Good times, good times...
Back on topic.
Not even my classmates in school know who/what Megaman/The Megaman series is. They're always saying Megaman's a nickname for Samus. Freaking Samus is a girl! *sigh* The world must be exposed to more Megaman, do you not agree?!

I feel like a small kid when I read your posts. My first full contact with Megaman was the second Battle Network game. Since then I started to download all the Megaman gamesfrom the net...if anyone asks, don't tell them I leach^^

I started getting interested in megaman when I was 5. I bought Megaman for the gameboy. Then, one of my brother's friends brought over his SNES and then I learned about Megaman X. Then, when I was 7 I bought BN1 and MMZ, then I became hooked to megaman.

Unless you have a really good point to add, or something very interesting to say, don't bring back an old thread.
