I wonder where you got this idea.
Levia - July 13, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
Credit of this awards set-up going to FEFF, naturally.
I'm not seeing much of a point to seperate categories for RP and RP Battling, or Fanfiction Writer and Fanfiction.
Biggest spammer probably isn't necessary because this place isn't as mean as FEFF is.
Saint PhantomZero - July 13, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
Shrug. I thought it'd be fine to separate the two as they attract different people to them, and are just viewed separate (as in, RPers don't usually go into RP Battles and maybe vice-versa). So I thought RP Battles may deserve it's own category... I'll see what other people think before actually doing anything though.
Edit: As for Fanfiction Writer and Fanfiction, I don't see any reason to not have them separate, although the comment is appreciated.
Edit2: Combined them.
True enough, although we do have some spammers here.
-Inserted Credit to you guys, sorry.

Allow me =3
RPs usually generalize in the Free RP area of the forum, where several RPers who aren't really into RP Netbattling go and let off steam. RP Netbattling allows people who have navis to duke it out RP style with other people who have Netnavis. It's best to seperate the two.
The best fanfic doesn't have to be written by the best fanfic writer.
It's best to recognize the biggest spammer either way, just as a heads-up to newbies.

It's useless.

It still seems pointless. Ok, so they're RPs in different sections. One limits it to one kind of RP, which can still come up in General RP. And well, naturally, there is some sort of gap that means that the best RPer in one section will suddenly lose their RPing abilities in the other part? I'm sure people visit one section more than the other, but that doesn't change who the best RPer is.
I realize that the best writer doesn't always write the best story. But because it fits in nicely with how I want to nominate anyway, I'm retracting my statement. It does have it's pros.
Recieving an award for being spammy is a good example for newbies? It sets a bad example, and it's not exactly nice to veteran members either. And I imagine for the people who do enjoy spamming, it only encourages it. And yeah, there ARE spammers here, but that hardly seems like a good reason to have an AWARD for it.

Touché.
Hmm. You and Harem are both messing with my mind, I'll think about it, I'm still doing other things too.
-oooooooooooohhhhhhh Pendant just pwned you Eugene.

What I meant was that the award will tell the newbies who to avoid =3

^fail argument
So, exactly to isolate and disregard the one given that award? gj.
At least that is what you're saying by your logic. :hmm:

They just have to read your posts to know who to avoid. :slowpoke:
One just has to lurk around a bit to find out which particular members should be avoided anyways. :psyduck:

I'll probably get Nomination Topic up tomorrow.
Chibi Goku - July 13, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)

Try me. I've seen, heard and read far worst things. Trust me on that.
MegaWarrior - July 13, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
Oooh..this might be a fun even lol.
Sentenal - July 13, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
I'll give an example of Girliest. Rae or whatever the hell his name is now, is more TONS more girly than Harem, and that is saying something.
KamikazeLord - July 13, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
Axel - July 13, 2007 04:57 AM (GMT)
Yes. I'm sure negative awards will raise member self esteem and welcome new members to our community. :3
Ejsaxdude - July 13, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
If people are just going to use this to degrade other members then NO we shouldn't do this.
Chibi Goku - July 13, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
In something like it's a given that your consent is given out the second your name is put up on the list. Though it may just be a good idea to remove the negatives altogether.
Hiro - July 13, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
I think you should remove giriest and whinny as they can offend some of the members.
You could add Most Mature and Least Mature as categories.
Sentenal - July 13, 2007 08:02 AM (GMT)
-_-
Internet, serious bussiness, eh?
Levia - July 13, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
It's not wise to ignore people's feelings anyway.
I'd also remove whiniest because it's stupid. I wouldn't think being girly is really an insult for most people though.
Insaniholic - July 13, 2007 10:13 AM (GMT)
When voting, this whole thing will be turned into a popularity contest. Its most likely people are going to vote for their friends or someone recognized, but no really deserving the award.
Levia - July 13, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
It might have been a retched popularity contest had this not been the internet and a small forum... No one strikes out as more popular than another with a few, very rare exceptions here. Hypothetically, it should turn out skewed with votes going just for friends, but in practice I've seen it work out very well.
I don't think that's something to be afraid of.

And getting voted as Least Mature wouldn't offend someone?

Saint PhantomZero - July 13, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
-Popular award doesn't seem like a horrible thing even though we do have a small community compared to FEFF.
-I'll strike off Whiny.
-Mature and Least Mature = No.

I can't say I didn't expect the possibility, but what Sent said; it's still a fun event.
Rossebay - July 14, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
My only chance would probably be in the RP area, seeing as there are only a few active RPers who join alot and actually know HOW to RP.
Spammer was taken away, so I lose at that.
