Pre-Notice: Carefully read everything as there are a number of dates that need to be noted. Also, this is the new format of the newsletter because IF's basic coding options completely fail.

Hello and welcome back to the EXE Warriors Newsletter. After a number of issues over the last month, we’re back. This month we’ll be taking a look at more of the Armor System, revealing the first of a three part quest series, see another staff interview. Oh, and also if we get time we’ll watch something explode. Correction, we WILL watch something explode because as we all know; explosions rule. Not as much as tacos, but still close.
The Armor System: Fall Release, August Testing Period.
I’m sure your all getting sick of hearing about this armor system that has been in the works for close to a year, well the time is almost here. Starting august 1st and lasting for the rest of the month EXEW shall be hosting a testing period for the final version. Please keep in mind that this testing period does NOT affect your navis outside of the testing period and all armor pieces gained during this period will be lost after it is over.
The armor system is very simple, but can be made quite complex for those who really like to customize their navis. Basically each navi gets a set of Basic Armor which does nothing at first, at least until the navi equips a Data Fragment. That’s right, those Data Fragments you were forced to collect before actually had a purpose.
Each Data Fragment is different and currently there are seven known types: Fire, Water, Wood, Elec, Hp, Regen, and Minus Damage. The four elemental types work as you might expect.
The Hp fragment adds a small amount of increased hp to your navi at the start of battle, while the Regen fragment regenerates a set amount of hp each turn. The strength of these fragments depends on the fragment level itself. Ranged 1-3 for this period, though one could expect a max range of 1-5 upon the release.
The Minus Damage fragment as you might expect, decreases the damage you take from battle chip and special attacks. (Standard attacks are not affected by this fragment) This makes it easier to last longer in battle.
All players during the testing period get 1 of each fragment type, though you can only equip 2 fragments at a time to your armor. Please note that you can only equip 1 Elemental Fragment at a time.
Of course that’s just for starters. On the way sometime after the full release is a Crafting System which will allow you to make a set of armor that tends to be stronger than what you can create with just the basic armor. All the materials will cost something as will crafting the armor. Yes, you not only need the matetials but you also need some zenny to craft the armor. Of course for those who are super rich, you can obtain armor with the max possible bonuses but it will be as a status symbol. Think of it as a money sinkhole.
We look forward to seeing everyone test out the system when it brings the 1st. More information will be released at that time.
Interview with Saint PhantomZero:
Notice: This was the interview set to run in the June Edition.
Q:
When you first heard or saw RPing what did you think of it? What made you start RPing to become the RPer you are now?
A: RPing? Well. I can't really say what I thought of it. My first REAL RPing was with The Helldragon when we were just fooling around in the ACDC area thread (now known as the Free RP thread). Of course, our silly ideas slowly rolled into what is now Age 1. Of course, I sucked pretty badly at RPing back then. I had no creativity which made Ryu the exact copy of Rurouni Kenshin, to the past version of him, and now he's just simply my own creation. It's part of the process of improving, as in not copying characters from video games, anime, supernatural shows, and so forth. As for the other factor contributing to my current skill level? RPing with KKL, Zero, and Pendy/Levia. Their skills are far superior to my own, and I'm still getting better thanks to them.
Q:
What made you join Exe Warriors? And how did you become such a great admin?
A: Hah. Sara brought me to EXE Warriors personally. I knew her from one of my other friends Anthony, and she asked me if I wanted to join upon its creation. As for administration, I had my own RPG forum very different styled from EXE Warriors, and she was on it. She looked at my skills and thought I had promise so poof; I became an administrator. I was quite a bad administrator though. I think the fact that I was twelve at the time had a lot to do with it... And now, I'm a much better administrator than I was before all due to my experiences on EXE Warriors, which included finding and banning all of the members that ignored the rules and cheated the system and so forth. I still have a ways to go though.
Q: What are your plans for Age III? And what other plans do you have for the IF-Exe Warriors?
Age III
I plan to be active in Age III, and bring back Ryu from Age I. Other than that, that's all I'll reveal.
Other Plans
Well, I plan to implement new things in the board, new activities outside of the RPG area. For example, Zero, KamiKazeLord and I did all the layout work on the board. We separated boards like General into Media and Gaming, and so forth. Now that it's done though, I plan to make more non-RPG activities like the Poll/Contest I'm starting now. Basically you nominate games/characters/ect according to the topic and vote. I'll come up with more ideas and try to get them implemented. I have other plans too, but I'll not spoil everything.
Q: You seem very busy as an admin, what do you think you never have time to do here?
A: Probably approving navis. Most lax for an admin, but I've got a lot on my plate. It's not like I never approve navis though. Just don't PM me about the fact that it hasn't been checked in a while. If a member does that, I ignore that navi thread for maybe a day or two for being impatient. We aren't machines.
Q: What was the first Megaman game you ever played?
A: Oh, Megaman games... Megaman II for the NES was my first game. And it was also the second game I've ever played (Final Fantasy was first). It was quite an awesome game, and from there I proceeded to play MMX for the SNES which was out at the time. Megaman X is really the game that got me into the entire series however.
First of a Three Part Quest: Something New For Once
Let’s cut right to the chase. The first of this three part quest isn’t as exicting as you might like it to be, but trust me when I say that the last two parts will more than make up for it.
The first part of this quest details a classic contest good and evil, though in a different sense of the word. Located in the General RPG forum is a thread that has two counters for each side. How do you raise these counters? Very simple actually, just post which side you support! On the 31st the thread will be locked and the results will be used to prepare the second part of the quest. Don’t be in such a rush to vote however, for one side may offer you gifts to vote for them. So if you havn’t voted your support out yet, keep an eye on your PM box as you might receive something.
(Please note that to add any gifts to your account you must vote for that side, you can only vote for one side and any gifts offered by the other will become void)
Which side wins greatly affects how the rest of the event will play out, what types of missions may appear and what kinds of rewards will be given out for the second part. Look for this event to start on the 15th. More info on the second part will come along the 1st of August.
