July 24, 07 Update-Halfway into part 1 of the Event.

It was getting late, yet Chaud was still scanning over the various reports sent in by Official Navis. Normally he wouldn’t have bothered with it at such an hour, however something strange was going on. It seemed that each report mentioned some strange group of navis that were lurking around the net. It had been over a year since the last major crisis that was known as Sigma, and cleanup in some parts of the world was still going on. The last thing he needed was to hear about groups of navis running around the net.

Chaud heard the door to his office open and looked up. Two net police officers were walking into the room. He could tell by their badges. “Sir, have you had time to look at those reports?” One of them asked. Chaud nodded with a sigh.

“We can’t afford to let this slide by, just in case. However we’re still recovering what we can to repair parts of the net that are still infected with Sigma’s Virus Beasts. Every time we think we’ve deleted all of them, another large spawn appear. I’m just not sure how to deal with this.” The police officers looked at each other, then at Chaud.

“What course of action should we take then?” Chaud glanced over at another report and remained quiet for a few minutes before answering.

“For now, leave it be. Something strange is going on, but we don’t have enough information to fully understand what we could be going up against. We’ll continue to watch these two closely, and take action at a later date if needed.” The police officers bowed and left him to his work. Chaud rose from his hair and walked to the windows, looking out at the night covered city. “Vale and Mist…just what is going on…”

August 1st, 07 Update:

Alerts were going off all over Dencity. Reports of firewalls being hacked, security navis deleted and data files being stolen kept pouring in. There hadn't been a single moment to stop and rest since the invasion had begun.

Chaud spoke to the city over the wide screen from his office. It was clear he hadn't gotten any more rest than anyone else. "Things have gone from bad to worse. The Order of the Mist has gotten more support than we thought and has begun attacking important infomation banks all across the net. The Order of the Vale has agreed to help us drive them back, however their forces are very limited. While it appears that this starting force is nothing but viruses, please be very careful. We ask that any and all netbattlers send their navis to help support the forces in Dencity and Yoka."

As the screen went blank, Chaud turned back toward the windows. Things had indeed gotten far worse than he would admit. "Send messages to those who fought against Odin and Sigma, tell them to prepare for the worst. We may need their help should this threat prove to great..."
