Title: Kingdom Hearts: Kokoro Byokin

Dalent - July 30, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
Prologue
"Are you done yet Xenmas?" Saix asked, crossing his arms. "I'm sick of this world."
"Almost." Xemnas replied, not looking up from his contraption. "Soon, we'll all be free."
"And what does this do, exactly?" Marluxia asked, walking forward.
"First, it will finally separate Roxas from Sora permanently, and bring Roxas here." Xemnas explained. "Then, using the Keyblade's power, we'll unlock a road to the other worlds. But first..." Xemnas began typing on the machine's keyboard, listening to it hum. Eventually, a beam shot out to the ground, and a black adn yellow creature appeared. "...this is a new Heartless I have created, called the Kokoro Byokin. It will infect the heart of a human, and eventually seperate heart from body, creating a Nobody and Heartless. We can then reverse engineer it, and get our own hearts back."
"Fine." Marluxia said. "Just hurry up. This world...it's odd."

Xemnas punched a key on the machine, and it began to hum once more. The Byokin was already gone, traveling the invisible roads of darkness only Heartless could travel. The machine was humming more violently this time, and began to vibrate, and finally shot a blue beam towards the ground. The next moment, a blond haired boy stood amongst the members of Organization XIII.
"Roxas, it's good to see you." Xemnas greeted the youth. "Now that you're out of that cursed Sora, you can aide us in getting off this world of the defeated. Then you can have your own body once our experiment is complete."

After listening to Xemnas explain the procedure, Roxas was ready to help his old group. Pointing his Oathkeeper at the machine, a beam shot forward, and when it made contact with the machine, sent another, larger beam forward that created a blue portal.
"Now remember everyone." Xemnas said. "If you're defeated again, you won't return here. You'll be gone from existence forever." Xemnas then turned to Roxas. "You'll be the last to pass through, seeing as only a few can go at once. Marluxia, Vexen, and Larxene will go first. Now go."

Sora - July 30, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
Seems interesting, with the Org. XIII instead of Sora and crew. I want to see what becomes of Xemnas.

Dalent - July 30, 2007 04:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that was my main goal; remove the Sora gang. They make appearances, but they're not the main people. Org. XIII and Custom Characters are...which reminds me of something I did not post:

If you have any custom characters, please send them to me, and I may use them. And please...not all Keyblade users...

Sora - July 30, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
I sent a non-keyblade wielder.I hope you like him....

Dalent - July 31, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
Chapter I: Enter the Heartless

Dalent crouched near the edge of a small lake in his town. The lake was in the center of a park, and several young children had gathered around him. Dalent's gray hair fell to his shoulders as he looked at the small crowd around him. He smiled as he briefly remembered the days a few years ago when he was that age, with the same interest. Looking back at the lake, Dalent told the children to watch carefully as he placed his hand over the edge of the lake.
"Blizzard." Dalent said coolly, and a frost shot forth from his hand, and began to freeze the lake over. Gasp could be heard escaping the mouths of the children behind Dalent, and a grin appeared on his face. As children began to step on the ice, Dalent stood to walk away. As he turned, a little girl grabbed his hand.
"How did you do that?" she asked, looking up at him.
"Magic."

At home that night, Dalent sat at his desk, reading an ancient book. There was a spell in it he was trying to master, and it's secret had eluded him for months. It was written in an ancient text that was taking forever to decipher. Then, upon reading his translations, he stumbled upon his own error. There was one part he had not read and translated! Dalent pulled out his notes, and quickly began to translate the text.
After a few minutes, Dalent stared at his rough translations. It spoke of a pattern that needed to be draw on both locations of teleportation. It also noted that the pattern could be placed on the caster, as to erase the need to have two. Not being to fond of carving a pattern into his skin, Dalent took some chalk and drew the design on his bedroom floor. Then, grabbing a staff made of fine maple wood, Dalent went outside and walked about 100 yards before drawing the pattern once more. Standing in the middle, Dalent crossed his fingers and said the word to activate the spell, "Teleport." Dalent's body began to glow a soft white, and then he disappeared completely.
Appearing back in his room, Dalent grinned, glad that he finally had the spell down. He then went straight to bed, anticipating tomorrow and how he would show his friends.

Colored light began to stream from the ground, on a stained glass surface. The rest of the area was shrouded in complete darkness. Dalent was standing near the edge of the circle, looking around in shock. He was no longer in his house, and even his clothes had changed. He now wore long white pants with a blue shirt. A white sleeveless vest covered the shirt, and his shoes where the same shade of blue as the shirt.
"Where am I?" Dalent wondered out loud, as he walked towards the center of the circle. When he reached the center, a voice rang out from the darkness.
"Fear the Heartless." It warned. "Beware the Shadows."
As Dalent looked around to find the source of the voice, he spotted a dark shadow on the ground moving towards him. The shadow then began to pull itself from the ground and take form, with two small antennae and large yellow-white eyes. The Shadow stood around 2 feet tall, and looked around curiously, as if it was an innoncent, helpless creature. Dalent stepped back, heeding the voice's warning, and prepared to fight back. As he thought about what to fight back with, a thin rod of light flashed in front of him. Grabbing it, the light took the form of a double-blade halberd. The shaft was white while the blades where a transparent blue. No sooner had Dalent grabbed the shaft of the weapon that the Heartless pounced towards him. Dalent blocked the Shadow with the shaft, and slashed at it, causing it to dissapear in a cloud as a pink heart floated away. The Heartless defeated, a light appeared at the edge of the circle, and small squares began to appear, making a path to a lower platform, glowing with the same light.
Dalent followed the path, only to have it disappear when he stepped off onto the second platform. A third platform began to glow in the distance. The voice spoke out to Dalent again.
"Escape from the darkness when you can't step away." Dalent looked down as a dark pool began to engulf the second platform.
"How am I going to get away from this?" Dalent thought out loud. Then it hit him. Teleportation. Summoning up the halberd once more, Dalent attempted to etch the pattern for the teleportation spell on the ground, but to no avail. This left Dalent with one option. He took the halberd's blade, and carved the pattern onto his lower arm.
"Alright, here goes; Teleport!" Dalent's body flashed white, and he teleported to the third and final platform. Upon landing on it, Dalent lost his footing, because the last platform was made of ice. A freezing wind began to blow around Dalent, and behind him, ice began to take form of a large, skeletal-like beast. Dalent turned to face it once he noticed its shadow covering his body. The large ice creature swept one claw-like hand towards Dalent. Jumping to avoid it, Dalent summoned the halberd once more and landed on the creature's hand. Dragging the blade of his halberd on the creature, Dalent ran up its arm, leaving a large fissure in his tracks. When he reached the creature's shoulder, he took the halberd and rammed the blade into its neck. In pain, the creature tossed Dalent into the air, and as he fell back down, grabbed him and smashed him into the ice.
Dalent pulled himself from the ground as the beast reared back a fist to strike Dalent. Dark clouds began to form around the fist, and left a trail as it came down.
"Blizzard!" Dalent roared, holding his outstretched hand by its wrist. A powerful burst of ice shot out at the arm, but seeing as the creature was made of ice, the arm only got larger. The arm came down on Dalent, forcing him deep into the ice, and the darkness began to wrap around him, choking him. As Dalent began to lose consciences, the voice spoke out a final time.
"Do not let your heart be overcome by the darkness." And with that, Dalent blacked out.

Dalent jumped up from his bed, waking from his slumber. Everything seemed the same to him, except his clothes were still the same from his dream. Looking outside, Dalent saw the sun was rising. Then he remembered he had accomplished the teleport spell. In a flash of white, Dalent was gone to go tell someone the news.

Sora - July 31, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
Very nice and detailed. It seems to be going in a very interesting direction.

Shiroko - July 31, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Wow Dalent, great job 9.5/10

Chapter II: Attack of the Shadows

Dalent walked past the park, to where he had drawn the pattern from before, and smuged it out. After waking up, he realized his dream was more than just a dream, because the pattern was etched in his skin. Dalent continued walking, looking at the morning sky. The sun was out, but what worried Dalent was what he saw in the distance. Dark clouds slowly moved to cover parts of the sky, and a chill ran Dalent's spine. Shaking it off, he jogged the rest of the way to his friend's house.
Knocking on the door for ten minutes, Dalent got impatient.
"Hope she doesn't mind this." Dalent said to himself, and his body flashed white. He reappeared in a room of the house he was waiting at, specifically a bedroom. A young, light brown haired girl was sleeping. As Dalent slowly walked to her bed, three Shadows appeared, blocking his path. Immediately, the halberd from before summoned itself into his hand to aide him in the defeat of the Heartless. Before he could strike them, one of the Shadows pounced at Dalent, tossing him back onto a desk, smashing it. The noise caused the girl to jolt awake, and look towards the commotion.
"Dalent?" She yawned, rubbing her eyes. "What in the world? How did you get in here?" At that moment, she noticed the Heartless also standing in her room. "And what the hell are those?" Dalent got up, and slashed the three Shadows in one motion, causing them all to fade to nothing.
"Hey Amarelo." Dalent said. "Those are Shadows, a type of Heartless. But I'll explain later. For now, get freaking dressed and meet me outside." Dalent then flashed white, and disappeard.

Outside, the wind was blowing furiously, and the dark clouds had completly covered the sky. Parts of town could be seen in the distance, completely engulfed by darkness.
"Oh, this is not good." Dalent said. He could see Heartless all over, some Shadows, some of a different kind. Dalent waited, halberd at the ready, for Amarelo to make her way outside.
Turning around when he heard a click, Dalent saw Amarelo dressed and ready. She was wearing a yellow belly shirt and a tan skirt that fell right above her knees. She also wore a long, tan open jacket that fell halfway down her legs. In her hand, she held a thin strip of tan leather - a whip.
"Stop gawking," Amarelo ordered, "and tell me what the hell is going on."
"All I know is that I came to show you that teleporting spell I used earlier, and then this happened." As Dalent finished his sentence, more Shadows and other Heartless jumped up around them. "Okay, but now we need to fight these things." Dalent started slashing with the halberd, taking the Shadows out in single sweeps. Amarelo lashed out with her whip, keeping them at bay, but not being able to destroy them. Eventually, the Heartless around them were gone, and Dalent and Amarelo look at their town which was being engulfed by darkness. People were running, their hearts being torn from their bodies, leaving Heartless behind as the bodies faded to nothing. The darkness then began creeping up on Dalent and Amarelo, cornering them.
"Dalent, get us out of here!" Amarelo cried, clinging to his arm.
Anywhere...take use anywhere but here. Dalent thought as the darkness began to creep to their feet. "TELEPORT!" Dalent roared, and his and Amarelo's bodies flashed white, pushing the darkness away that was pulling them under.
Dalent and Amarelo watched their world crumble underneath the darkness as they were teleported away. But one thing caught Dalent's eye. Where the pair had been standing, another pair was also standing. One had blond hair, and seemed about Amarelo's height. The other was about Dalent's height, and had short black hair. In his hand, he held a large claymore whose hilt was actually part of the blade. These two figures turned away, and then there was nothing.

Sora - August 1, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
Another great chapter. I can't wait to see my character's addition and the mystery behind who those two men were.(They seem like Saix and Zexion but the descriptions don't fit.)

Chapter III: Radiant Garden

Light streamed down on Dalent's face, stirring him from his slumber. He could hear the crackling of fire nearby, and also heard a loud humming. Sitting up, Dalent saw a huge screen to his right, with a blond haired man sitting at it.
"Ummm, hey," Dalent said, rubbing his eyes, "where am I?"
"Ah, he lives!" The man exclaimed, turning from the screen. "Name's Cid, and you're at Radiant Garden, my home world. But I've never seen you around here. Was your world taken by the Heartless?"
"Uh, yeah...how'd you know?"
"Me and my friends have been battlin' the Heartless for some time now. And you're not from around these parts, so I assumed you're one of the few survivors." As soon as Cid said that, a bell went off in Dalent's mind.
"Where's Amarelo?!" He asked excitedly, just noticing that she was nowhere to be seen.
"You're friend? Sorry kid, but I couldn't help her. There was some guy in a black coat carrying someone away when I found you. Looked like he was with a group we called Organization XIII, but we defeated them ages ago." Dalent jumped to his feet when he heard this, and his halberd was already in his hand.
"Show me where to go." He ordered.

Cid and Dalent walked to the top of a set of stairs where Cid found Dalent.
"He went that way." Cid pointed down the stone path past a set of gates. Cid than turned around and headed back down the stairs. "Good luck, kid."
"Thanks." Dalent said. "But I'm not a kid." Dalent then took off in a mad sprint down the path, taking as many shortcuts as he dared, until he saw the man Cid had mentioned.
"Hey, stop!" he hollered, but the man didn't stop. Dalent yelled out once more. "I said stop, you have my friend!" That time, the man stopped and turned around. The man had light brownish hair just like Dalents, and he wore a black cloak which concealed his body.
"I don't have time to bother with a child like you." The man said. "I need to take this one back to Xemnas."
"Who are you, and what are you talking about?" Dalent demanded, drawing out his halberd.
"I am Marluxia, Number 11 of Organization XIII." The man answered. "You see, I've placed a Heartless called the Kokoro Byokin, or Heart Virus, into her. Over time, her heart will become engulfed in darkness and she will be separated into a Heartless and a Nobody. We at the Organization will use any knowledge we gain from watching this happen, and reverse it to make ourselves whole again."
"Well, Marluxia," Dalent said, anger in his voice, "I'm not letting you take Amarelo away. Blizzard!" Dalent shot forward a blast of ice straight at Marluxia. Marluxia quickly summoned his scythe and sliced the icy blast in half. Setting Amarelo down, Marluxia rested his scythe on his shoulder. The bladed parts were pink, though the shaft was black. Pink flowers began to whirl around Marluxia's body.
"You've messed with the Graceful Assassin today. I'll give you three seconds to live."
"You've messed with a very pissed guy's friend today. You die now!" Dalent flashed white, and appeared behind Marluxia, knocking him in the back, then appeared in front of him, slashing again with his halberd. This continued for several blows until Marluxia swing his scythe, catching Dalent with the blade and smashing him to the ground. Glowing pink flower petals then flew from behind Marluxia and struck Dalent, cutting him up.
"I don't have time to mess with you, rodent." Marluxia said.
"The name's, ugh, Dalent." Dalent gasped, trying to get from underneath Marluxia's scythe.
"Just keep an eye on my project. I'll collect her when the time is right." With that, more pink flower petals surrounded Marluxia and followed him as he walked into a dark portal. Dalent slowly got to his feet, lifted Amarelo into his arms, and limped back to Cid's.

Sora - August 3, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)

Chapter IV: Traveling Worlds

Dalent sat on the edge of the couch, where Amarelo was out cold.
"What can we do?" Dalent asked, not looking away from Amarelo.
"Well, we could always give her a Potion. Those heal people up pretty well." Cid said, and got up to look for one. After a few moments, Cid pulled down a potion and handed it to Dalent. Tilting Amarelo's head back, Dalent let her drink the Potion. When it was gone, she coughed slightly, and moaned. Stirring, she opened her eyes to see Dalent sitting over her, relieved.
"Where am I?" She asked, sitting up.
"Cid's place." Dalent said with a smile.
"Who? We don't know a Cid. Where is Cid's house?"
Dalent shot a hopeless look back a Cid, not having an answer.
"You're in Radiant Garden, little girl." Cid said. "Seems your world was overtaken by heartless, and you got sent here somehow."
"That's right, and Dalent teleported us here." Amarelo began to recall the events that had preceded. Dalent then suddenly changed the topic.
"Do you feel alright?" he said, placing his hand on her forehead.
"I feel fine." She said, swatting away his hand. "Why shouldn't I?" Dalent then took the time to explain what had happened while she was knocked out.
"What!? You mean I'm going to become one of those things!?" She cried.
"Yes," Dalent said, "But we're gonna stop it."
"And how exactly are you going to do that? Hmmm?"
Dalent kept quite for a minute, not having an answer. Cid bumped in at this point.
"Defeat the Organization, and take out any Heartless along the way." he said, crossing his arms.
"But I can't even hurt them, let alone beat one." Amarelo declared.
"Then it's a good thing I showed up when I did." The three turned and saw a wizard in a blue robe dusting magic powder off himself.
"Gotta stop popping up like that Merlin." Cid said.
"Well, that's how I travel as a wizard." He replied, then turned to Amarelo. "Now, young lady, I can grant you some magic to use against the heartless." Merlin then sprinkled some magic dust over Amarelo, and she began to glow red. Her shirt changed red and her tan leather trench coat turned into black leather.
"I've granted you the power of Fire magic." Merlin said with a grin. "I can already sense your male friend over here can use some magic, so I will let him teach you how to properly master it. Now, you two should be on your way. No time to waste."
"Right!" They both said at once and jumped up.
"Thanks for everything, Cid and Merlin." Dalent said. "We'll be back. TELEPORT!" Dalent and Amarelo then flashed white, and disappeared.
"Good luck, kiddo." Cid said

Kayne Argand - August 15, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
Short, but very, very kickass.

I wanna see how you add Shiroko's and my character to the story.

Sora - August 16, 2007 01:21 PM (GMT)
I agree with Kayne, but to see how you add me......

Kayne Argand - August 16, 2007 03:46 PM (GMT)
Kayne. Not Kanye. I have no affiliation with the singer.

Darento - August 17, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
Sora, your character actually arrives in the next chapter. Kayne, yours follows a few chapters later (I have some questions about him first), and Shiroko's, unfortunately, takes the longest, being my replacement later on (SUPRISE TWIST!)

Kayne Argand - August 17, 2007 02:34 AM (GMT)
Sure, MSN?

Darento - August 19, 2007 02:31 PM (GMT)
Okay, before I post Chapter V, I have a few questions. Is Cyber Stigma (my Megaman fic) getting ignored because of this, or was it already massive PH4IL? Should I stop writing Cyber Stigma?

Sora - August 20, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
Didn't read it, so I don't know. Sorry about the name mixup, the Plot Twist looks cool, and I'm anxious to see my character in the next chapter......

Shiroko - August 20, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
cyber was cool, its still poping. Ill post in it now.

Darento - August 22, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
Chapter V: Universe's Heart
Two white ninja stars flew through the air, mowing down an army of Shadows. The stars returned to the hands of a red haired boy. He had on a yellow shirt with matching pants. His shoes where white, like the headband he wore. He also wore a yellow scarf that covered his mouth and hung down his back.
"Damn heartless." the boy said. "Am I the only one on this world who can fight them?" As he said that, he noticed a bright flash of white in the distance, near the few other survivors. "No, more Heartless!"

Dalent and Amarelo stood in the world they had teleported to. It was covered in complete darkness. Even the sun was coated in darkness, giving off a black light. The buildings were broken down, in flames, and completely black from dark energies. Heartless could be where everywhere, and not a single human could be seen.
"Umm, where are we?" Amarelo asked, glancing at the landscape, or lack thereof.
"I think we're somewhere I'm gonna leave." Dalent said. "Let's g-" Without warning, Dalent pushed Amarelo away, knocking her down.
"Dalent, what the hell was that for!?" Amarelo yelled, getting up off the ground. That's when she noticed a giant white shuriken in the ground where she was before.
"You two, I've never seen you here." A voice said from above. Looking up, the duo saw a boy clad in yellow. "You must be the source of all these Heartless. If I can defeat you, I can cleanse my world."
"And just who are you?" Dalent asked, summoning up his halberd.
"You can call me Denlex," the boy said. "NOW DIE!" Denlex jumped from the roof of the building he was on, and tossed his second giant shuriken at Dalent. Dalent jumped back to avoid the attack, and fired off a Blizzard spell at Denlex who had grabbed both his shuriken and was spinning them in his hands. As the icy blast approached Denlex, he lift a single finger.
"THUNDER!!" He roared, and a bolt of lighting struck the blast of ice in front of him. "You're not the only one that can use magic. But I bet I can use mine better than you." With that, the Thunder magic began to flow through the shuriken. "THUNDER STAR!" Denlex yelled, tossing one of the shuriken at Dalent. It began to glow yellow, and eventually took the shape of a star. Having no time to dodge, Dalent lifted his halberd to block the attack, but was still knocked back. Before he even had a chance to get off his back, the second shuriken came at Dalent. Rolling to dodge it, he used Blizzard to freeze it to the ground.
"Now try and hit me with just one." Dalent goaded, getting to his feet.
Not even attempting to toss his second shuriken, Denlex rushed Dalent and slashed with the shuriken in a sword-like fashion. Dalent dodged and blocked, but could never counterattack. As he stepped back to avoid a blow, Dalent tripped over a piece of rubble, landing on his back. Taking advantage of this, Denlex jammed the shuriken at Dalent's neck, but not to kill him. Two points of the shuriken where stuck in the ground, causing part of the sharp edge to be just inches over his throat. Denlex stood on his chest and stuck out his left hand, which forcibly summoned the second shuriken.
"Now, you must-" Denlex began.
"Let him go." Denlex had not noticed the girl sneak up on him and suddenly place him in a headlock.
"What if I don't?" Denlex grinned, ready to strike the girl down.
"Fire..." she muttered, and instantly flames whirled around them. The heat quickly exhausted Denlex and he passed out.

Sora - August 22, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
Wow! Dalent and Denlex went at it! I like the apocalyptic world that Denlex is about to lose. Not only that but the detail in the sun was awesome. I can't wait to see what else the Shuriken/Ninja Stars, Thunder, and TNS. Too bad Amarelo got the cheap shot......

*Is eagerly awaiting the next topic....*

Darento - August 22, 2007 04:39 AM (GMT)
Trust me, that's their first fight of many, and the others make that seem like child's play.

Ideas for Chapter VI? I know they will be on that world for at least the next two or three chapters?

Sora - August 22, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
If you want my advice here it is:

There is/was a serene part of the world. It was more like a lush jungle with a waterfall. Now its more like a volcanic burning place. That could be fun for adventuring and different types of Heartless.

The other chapter would be for Denlex's story development. Right before we leave I want Denlex to look over and see his mother get taken by a Heartless. He'll obviously reach out and fail and all that stuff. I'm thinking maybe.....writer's block for the second chapter besides what I said.......

Darento - August 31, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
Hidden Chapter 1
Xemnas waited a few days before he got ready to send over the next set of the Organization. As he was waiting, a man in a red robe with a black beard approached him.
"What do you want?" Xemnas asked the man. "I do not have time to meddle with others."
"I can tell you are searching to get your hearts back." The man said. "I have seen many Nobodys try from this world. But this is Death's Hold. Nothing changes here. Yet you have found an escape, back to the worlds with the living. If you send me back, I promise to help you. I know of a way that has worked before, involving the Keyblade."
"We've already tried using the powers of the Keyblade, and it did not work. Who are you anyways, to know so much?"
"I am the powerful wizard, Xine Erauqs. I once had a Nobody wield a Keyblade, and using it's powers, return himself to a full human. But he turned on my, and I destroyed him."
"I see." Xemnas said. "So what do you need with me?"
"If you send me back, I will gather youths and manipulate them into working for the powers of Darkness, and possibly wield a keyblade to assist in getting your bodies back."
"Fine, let's do it."

Sora - September 1, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
A nice small chapter......

Darento - September 3, 2007 02:52 PM (GMT)
Chapter VI: The Source
Denlex woke up on the ground, Amarelo and Dalent sitting around him.
"Why didn't you finish me?" He asked, sitting up.
"Because we're not your enemies." Amarelo said. "We're trying to stop the Heartless too."
"Then why are you here?" Denlex asked, not understanding why two people who have never been here before would have any interest in his world. Amarelo then began to explain what happened to their world, how they wound up in the Radiant Garden, and how she was infected with the Kokoro Byokin. Dalent remained quite through the whole explanation.
"Ah, yes, the Teleport spell." Denlex said. "A wizard who used to visit here used it. He was questionable though, always seemed to have a hidden motive. But I heard that if you focus your energies on one object, you can teleport a single object away. So if you apply the same concept, couldn't you do the same thing to the Kokoro Byokin in Amarelo's heart?"
Dalent pondered this, and nodded. "But I'm not that good with it. Let's try on a few pieces of this junk first." Dalent placed his hands on a steel bar, and closed his eyes. Summoning his magical energies, Dalent focused the teleport spell on the bar. It began to glow white, and in a flash, disappeared.
"You got it!" Amarelo cheered, hugging Dalent. "Now we can get this cursed thing out of me!"
"Right." Denlex said. "But first I want to know what he is doing here." Denlex turned around, and stared at a shadow on a nearby wall.
"Denlex, I think you're losing it." Dalent said.
"No. I can feel his dark aura, and he knows it. Show yourself!"
"Clever as ever, Denlex." A boy's voice said. Suddenly, a boy about Denlex's and Dalent's age stepped from within the shadow. The boy had black hair, and was clad in all red. His eyes were also a burning red, and seemed to have a glow to them. "I didn't think you're pathetic self would survive the onslaught of my heartless."
"You're heartless?" Denlex was shocked. "YOU DID THIS!?"
"Denlex, who is this?" Amarelo said.
"An evil person. And my worst enemy. He hates me."
"Now, that's not a proper introduction, old friend." the boy said to Denlex. He then turned to Amarelo and Dalent. "I am Talon. And yes, I hate him. I traded my soul for powers to destroy him, and I gained the ultimate powers of darkness and the Heartless."
"So, I guess that really does make you an enemy." Dalent said, his halberd in hand. "Looks like it's time for you to die." Dalent charged at Denlex, ready to jab him with the halberd.
"You're just as naive as Denlex." Talon sighed. "DARK FIRAGA!" Large, dark purple flames spun around Talon, and when Dalent made contact, he was thrown back with such force that he bent the steel pole he hit.
"You're nothing compared to me." Talon bragged. "So I think I'll leave a Heartless here to take care of you. Oh, and look who I'll turn into the Heartless that you'll die against!" Denlex reached back into the shadow, and pulled out a grown woman.
"Mother!" Denlex cried. "Don't you lay a finger on her! LET HER GO!"
As Denlex said this, a pool of darkness opened beneath his mother. The darkness began to crawl up her body as she cried out.
"Denlex! Please save us!" His mother cried. But before she could utter another word, the darkness had consumed her. The shape then began to grow, until it was several stories tall. What seemed like hair covered the whole face except two large, glowing yellow eyes. A large hole, the shape of a heart, was in the center of its chest. Otherwise, it looked like a person. A completely black person.
"Meet Darkside, a powerful heartless. Good luck, old friend." Denlex said, and then melded into the shadows.
