Title: MegaMan Star Force Thread!!

Methodis Rockman - August 13, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
I was surprised when I didnt see a topic about this. Did anyone get Star Force? I think its a very good game and ranks up there with my all time favorite bn game Battle Network 3

Zerorush - August 13, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
Haven't gotten mine in the mail yet, I'll probably have it by thursday.

Ejsaxdude - August 13, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
I planned on maing a thread earlier today but never got around to it.
I got Pegasus and I've already beaten it. I like it, and it's now one of my favorite megaman games.

Kayne Argand - August 13, 2007 07:49 AM (GMT)
I am getting Advent and Dragon at the same time. I think buying a store-exclusive game will lead to something good coming with it.

Zerorush - August 13, 2007 09:11 AM (GMT)
Everyone seems to be buying Dragon. I'm getting Leo just because it seems to be the version the least amount of people are buying. It'll make it easier for me to get Brothers for online play.

SaitoHikari - August 13, 2007 09:39 AM (GMT)
I noticed that, too. I mean, I'm gonna buy Dragon too

Kayne Argand - August 13, 2007 09:41 AM (GMT)
Actually, I am now able to purchase all three versions along with Advent. And a new DS Lite. w00t. Makes it easier on me to get Brothers. And birthday presents.

EDIT: Gamestop's gonna be pissed.

Ejsaxdude - August 13, 2007 11:23 AM (GMT)
Theres nothing special about Dragon I know since my litle borther has it.(That also means I can use the Dragon starforce :gg: ) I wish I had Wifi so I could be bro's with someone who has Leo. =/

Kayne Argand - August 13, 2007 12:39 PM (GMT)
(for all you know, it may be exactly like the Jap version.)

Methodis Rockman - August 13, 2007 01:29 PM (GMT)
I bought Dragon too by the way the reason I got was because like someone else said it was store exclusive, so that means something.

Zerorush - August 13, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
Its only a store exclusive in America, nothing really makes it any more valuable then the other versions.

I mean, how often do you see ANY megaman game outside of a Gamestop hmm? There not exactly know for selling out at places like Wal-Mart or Target, so really the whole store exclusive business doesn't really make sense.

Axel - August 13, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
Finished my Pegasus in ten hours.
Andromeda wasn't too hard. I liked the design and concept, and I thought the FM King's design was cool, but it was too bad that I didn't get to fight him.
If anyone wants to become a Brother, let me know. :]

Ejsaxdude - August 13, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
I had a hard time with andromada just because I kept getting every weak card I had. Eventually on the fifth try I had my little bro go on air and let me get a little power up(Just so a few of my chips would become stronger) I eventually got his best combo :gg: I need WIFI!

Saint PhantomZero - August 13, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
How good is the game? I wanna know all the pros and cons of the game before I decide to buy it, cause I'm already waiting for Phoenix Wright 3, and Megaman ZX Advent.

Ejsaxdude - August 13, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
The only thing I didn't like was the that you had to stay on one row moving left or right. They made a it so you can lock on (for sword chips and such). That was another problem I had with Andromeda, I hated the attack that hit the whole row. =/

Axel - August 13, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
I'd say it's pretty good. This is all off the top of my head:

Pros:

+ Game is ten hours. It's a nice playthrough.
+ The story doesn't drag as much as BN.
+ The battles are more exciting and combos are easier to carry out.
+ The Brother Band idea is quite good.
+ MegaMan has a shield. :D
+ They got rid of the NaviCust. Now, this isn't necessarily a good or bad thing, but instead, they now have buster weapons with preset stats and effects. To me, I like it better.
+ Sidequests aren't so freaking tedious.
+ The Brother Band system, on its own, is intuitive, and all of its features are too, such as the Personal Pages, On Air, and Brother Card.
+ There are more stun-ish chips, so you can set up some nasty combos of awesome more often.
+ Beginning folder doesn't suck as much. :]
+ Not being able to move up or down the panels adds a new layer of strategy.

Cons:

- Once the ten hours are done, there's not quite as much to do once the game is finished.
- After you beat an FM-ian, the only way you can fight it again is if you randomly encounter it, which is a bummer (excluding Crown Thunder, Cancer Bubble, and Wolf Woods)
- The story is kind of weak. But not too bad.
- The Pegasus/Leo/Dragon transformation is all you get, and I miss the widespread diverseness of six different crosses, souls, and whatnot.
- Bosses are too easy. Heck, the game is too easy.
- At the end of the game, you'll only have 3 brothers. And they don't really show up and help you outside of cutscenes and Brother Cards.
- By the end of the game, you only have one other ally FM-ian, and you can't even control them. I enjoyed this feature in BN6; being able to control other navis.
- It feels like there should be more diverse Battle Cards, but they're all a little too similar.
- You use the Wave Road to access electronics. And almost 75% of the electronic areas look EXACTLY the same. It would've been nice if there were more diverse places to pulse into.
- Not enough bosses. There's, like, six, in the main story.
- Some of the chapter designs were... terrible. Sometimes it felt thrown together.

Saint PhantomZero - August 13, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
I'll bide my time on buying it then. GO GO PHOENIX WRIGHT

What are the differences between the Leo/Pegasus/Dragon Transformations?

Ejsaxdude - August 13, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
Leo=Fire
Dragon=Wood
Pegasus=Water
=/ thats about it. Also, Megaman has a shield? D:

Kayne Argand - August 13, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
lulz also the Charge Shots and Big Bang attacks.

Ejsaxdude - August 13, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
I honestly didn't know megaman had a shield. (Probably would've made the final boss fight easier) I guess I know what the Y button is for now. =/
WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!

Kayne Argand - August 14, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
Y button?!

I honestly found them more of a hindrance than a help because I didn't even bother with charge shots unless I was bored when fighting random viri, and I don't counter often enough against bosses while in Leo form (I have Leo) to get the Big Bang attack.

Unit B - August 14, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
Post your Megaman Star Force friend codes and what version you have here.

I have Leo and my fc is: 274985684664.

I merged topics because there's no point in having a separate thread for that. >_>

Ejsaxdude - August 14, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
Yes! the Y button that is used for guarding! D=

Methodis Rockman - August 14, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
Not that I'm saying this a bad thing but doesnt the game feel like a reincarnation of battle network in a way I'm talking about the character roles.

Geo= Lan
Sonia= Mayl (she even has Mayl's walk for heaven's sake XD.)
Megaman= Megaman
Harp Note= Roll
Luna= Yai
Bud Bison= Dex
Tarus= Gutsman ((Gutsman started out as a bad guy *Hint Hint*))

Well you get my point right

Ohh and by the way Star Force 2 has been announced for Japan in November 2007 if you didnt know.

Zerorush - August 14, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
you could say that about every single megaman game ever made though =P

Kayne Argand - August 14, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
Yeah. Battle Network characters were basically just revised or modernized versions of Original and X characters. Whee.

I'm actually having second thought on buying all three versions. if you can beat it in 10 hours, then I don't see the fact in purchasing all three versions of this game. Guess I'll just pick up Dragon.

Unit B - August 14, 2007 07:29 AM (GMT)
The game's good, but not good enough spending money on all three, that's what Brotherband was made for.

Methodis Rockman - August 14, 2007 05:11 PM (GMT)
I finally beat Andromeda the key to winning is using your shield against its strongest attacks. Does anyone know if Star Force has any extra quests if you beat the game like Bn did?

Unit B - August 14, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
Not outside the quests you get from people's transers.

Sora - August 16, 2007 01:29 PM (GMT)
There's a secret area as well. You have to complete your standard library and get all SP FM-ians beaten and you get to rematch with Leo/Dragon/Pegusus. I have Leo and just beat Ophicus Queen.

EDIT: My friend code(Leo) is 189086751091

Aaron - August 16, 2007 03:51 PM (GMT)

Axel - August 18, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Anyone know how to make a Brother Band with Legendary Master Shin?

He reminds me of... a Tezuka character. Like, Astro Boy. :/

Unit B - August 18, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
I wish I knew, his favorite cards are sweet. The AM Seijin cards, Rcv 1000. And I've heard that his link ability is giga +1

Kayne Argand - August 18, 2007 06:40 PM (GMT)
It is. My friend got it. Pretty hard.

Just got Dragon Ver.

Hoo-rah for Taurus Fire! And soon, I'll get some shtit.

Can't honestly wait for #2. I plan on Berserk X Shinobi.

TRIBE ON!

Kayne Argand - August 19, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
I'm stuck. I need to KO Bob Copper, but I can't make the baseball machine thingy work.

Unit B - August 19, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
Talk to the kid that owns it, near the chip shop, he'll tell you he can't lend you it. So go into his transer and you'll read that the navi card for it is hidden under a bench in Vista Point.
