Title: Worrying...

Alex - September 13, 2005 01:56 AM (GMT)
... Am I the only one that worries about the smallest things? In example, it's not even a third of the way through the school quarter and I'm worrying about 3 points when there is going to probably be hundreds and hundreds of points. I want to stop thinking and worrying about this, but my mind just keeps going on and on... what can I do? D:

Hiei - September 13, 2005 02:01 AM (GMT)
Smoke weed. :P

Alex - September 13, 2005 02:03 AM (GMT)
I'm not like you and won't smoke weed. -_-

I'm worrying about the first of probably many AP Biology tests coming up on Friday, even though I've been studying since mid-august for it before school started [insert nerdy looking smiley type face here].

This is because I got a B in chemistry H, though I got an A in Biology H. My bro got an A in chem with my AP Bio teacher, but he dropped AP Biology with the guy because it was too hard!!

I think he got a B or C in Biology H though.

I'm also worried about my Economics HH class.

And my french class, because I've had teachers who taught nothing for 2 years, and now I'm in French V HH with a teacher who actually wants us to know things (our entire class sits through each day hoping they won't be called up, really). So scary.

EDIT-I don't smoke pot, but I've been offered and know kids who do. While I'm not interested, I have to admit I'd be very sad if the real potheads of our school left 'cuz they're insanely funny.

Adopt a more Durendal like attitude. That'll solve allllll your worrying problems.

Esgalglinion - September 13, 2005 05:49 AM (GMT)
Jesus, you go flame me because I have one e too much in 'feeling',and then you go give 'all' a whole new look completely T_T

*ahem*

To solve your problems, which is difficult since I have about the same troubles. However, what I usually do is that I listen to music I like for a while,or try to read something to get my mind of the minor problem. After that,I usually forget what the problem was in the first place ^_^

I have two options so far...

1. Smoke weed; never happening.
2. Listen to music/reading excessively; I already listen to music prety much 24/7 and reading, I hate reading. -_-

I said what helped for me.You have to find your own ways.Or you could just pull yourself together.

Míxtil_<3_fish! - September 13, 2005 04:31 PM (GMT)
i allso say use the dur method :P

but you could just be in a lesson, and then go "fuck you miss!" for no reason. it seems to calm people down. or make voodo dolls.

You're not alone, Alex. Not at allll. -_-

Personally, I'm worrying about school already. I'm worrying about Public exams in 2 years time. I'm worried that Jonathan Hann did beat me by like .12 for the best academic average last year. I'm worried about surgery. I'm worried about everything, dammit. -_-

I agree, though, music does help. Usually, anything to take your mind off the conflict at hand. Having supportive friends helps a great deal, too. Especially ones that don't mind laughing at your worrying. That helps me put things in perspective.

Drugs probably do help somewhat, but, I'm not willing to risk it. Dur knows that.

Hiei... Don't even joke about it.

Honestly, though, Alex, I think it's a mental thing. There are people who worry a bit, people who worry alot (I'm one of 'em), and people who don't give a damn (look at Dur). Maybe the only surefire way to stop worrying is to have like a personality transplant. I unno.

Kipdog - September 13, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
Well, people are different. Its hard to calm yourself, but you gotta try something you enjoy alot. It'll get your mind off worrying about this stuff. I used to worry alot, but now I relax in class, and do my homework at like 9 at night. You think doing my homework late is bad? Well from extra credit in 2 of my classes, I'm getting more than 100%. You just gotta find something to take your mind off of things. I'd say, best thing to do is enjoy yourself more in anyway you think you can. Hang out with your friends, get involved in school activities...maybe...theres Kip's advice.

Thats right, if you just say "fuck it" to whatever is making you worry, then you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Alex - September 13, 2005 09:03 PM (GMT)
I just can't do that...

Anyways, I created a pie chart of my current life:

Edit:
Didn't think it was that messy. Basically 12 hours of school/work, 6 hours of sleep, 3 hours of FEW/FEFF/ECW/TV, and 3 hours of practice/games.

Míxtil_<3_fish! - September 13, 2005 09:19 PM (GMT)
well, that fairly balenced. tenagers idealy need 8 hours a night, but 6 is good.

you know what i do when i have a complete lack of self motivation or an irrational fear somtimes? i swear at myself in the mirror, in a really angry, hate filled way. seems to work. try it.

i just realized its rather like whad dur said about saying 'fuck you' to problems, but tr it anyway.

12 hours of school?!?!?! holy crud!! that's a lot

I usually listen to music. I just try to make it quiet except to the music. I helps me a lot. In more than just school.

:peace:

During swim season (winter) I get about 5 hours of sleep every night (I go to sleep usually at 12:00 AM, wake up at 5:00 AM).

I do homework on a varied schedule. Sometimes ASAP, sometimes in the class moments before it is collected. I have a lot of AP classes this year, so it's mostly studying instead of homework now.
