For some reason, everyone is telling me I'm not authorized to give character approval, that they have to wait for someone else (and by the way, these are arbiters from FEW prereset).

This is wierd. First off, for Mhoram I never had to get character approval. Second off, the requirements for arbiter, war judge, and judge are ALL the same in terms of basic character stat understanding: but arbiter entails some modship and more pay in exchange for activity, war judge gives extra judging capacity in exchange for more knowledge of the FEW system.

So basically, I think me (along with unreal and pondy, who both seem to think that I, as well as themselves, are unfit to grade characters) are qualified to make decisions, and I've also never seen a rule that you had to wait for approval.

Once again, I spent about 9 days waiting for Mhoram to get approved, and eventually PM'ed one of the mods, who told me I had to PM Axem Titanium my profile. I believe his response was something like "Who was it, let me go strangle [maybe just kill] them", and told me I just needed to see if anyone noticed any mistakes, and go ahead if not.

Finally, I posted a R's and Q's topic, that I will try to find in my posts if it still exists, where I asked if there was such a rule, and being told that there was not.

In general, this would indicate you do not actually need approval for characters, but I'm not above thinking that there's some rule somewhere saying "wait for approval from either Shadow or some other mod and no one else".

well i never had to get approval either for my characters and i really want to start battling. But maybe it's a new rule. I don't know.

I was primarily considering Jehanna or Grado in terms of country favoritism, but I'll probably join whichever group has the least people...within limits, I might not join if there's 3-8 in other countries and 1 in a single place, in that case I'll just cruelly let that country die.

Anyway, LoZ, I'm just not sure, because I've never seen a solid rule one way or another on it...but Alex said in your topic that he'd be checking everyone's, so that means it's probably only high ranked people....

Which is why I'm going to become a war judge as soon as possible, then I can be an arbiter again and help with approval, if it is restricted to arbiter's.

Post reset topic in updates says former judges don't need to retake judge test :)
