how about instead of the complicated good, average and bad stats you just get 3 stats (or whatever) to add to and stat you want (2HP for 1 stat). i do realise this means you can have a fast juggernaught or a skilless archer but i personally think it dosen't matter.

i also think Strength and Magic should be separte stats, like Defence and Resistance

but i'm thinking of this happening after the reset thingy

That would be a boring level up system.

Strength and Magic as different stats? Like in the older FE games? Seems like an intresting idea.

The reset already happened.

huh? is the one now exciting or something (talking sarcasticly), i don't know if it changed cause i don't battle.

Maybe reset it after every fe game (that has a good system) happens. That way, in like mid next year, reset it to be like the path of radiance system.

Or how about not? We've already agreed to reset annually. Simply put, stop requesting a change in the system until August '06 :hopping:

When, and why? We should reset when it's convenient and useful to, not just whenever a year passes. And there should be ways to change some parts of FEW rules besides the reset.

There's no point in this particular change, though, so I'd be against it even after a reset. This is stupid, it would make characters simpler to make since you could remedy any problems with your characters by just tossing stats into specific areas halfway through.

The seperate magic/str was good in FE4, but it's very hard to balance. You also might notice that most of the characters who could use magic and weapons (like the mage knights) were generally only actually useful in one of the two. Even the Prince/Princess classes weren't very good with magic. Some of the Barons and other NPC classes were good with both magic and weapons. Emperor Alvis (Alvis was tougher than Julius IMO), was very high in both ratings, but only used Fala Flame (though he had a silv. broadsword), and he's an NPC anyways.

The only possible change we should make would be from growth levels to growth rates (%'s) and I'd still be against that since it'd be more about luck, and malicious mods could mess people up.

i've said the % thing before, it was a set of numbers like 40,35,10,etc (max 50, numbers are the same for everyone). if your character has a stat with a % higher than that number it gains that stat. can't get the same stat twice in a row except HP, but that's too annoying i suppose, well, compared to the current level up system (whatever it is, i'm too lazy to look for it) i don't think it's that much more complicated

or maybe instead of not being able to get a stat twice in a row, the ones that got boosted have their number reduce by whatever the level up number is, then it gets restored if you don't get it again, i don't know if you understood that but i think that's a definite complication

i still think STR and MAG should be different, after all, in the game you can only be either a Warrior or a Spell Caster. Just don't use one or the other, simple. though i don't know the % of people who decide to use both Weapons and Magic, it's probaly big

the problem about percentages is people could cheat there stats and max everything before promotion and that would a bad thing(i guess you could say)

you don't have an unlimited store of %. you have like 500% or something to divide on stats.

No.We're not gonna change our level up rules.We've had this way since the beginning.Besides,it would be the same levelup system as ECW or FEFF(I think),and then we'd just be another copy of them.We want to be different,not to copy their RPG at all.

There isn't enough faith in our members, nor our mods to be able to use the percentage level-up system with integrity. Until we do, we will continue with the rating system.
