Title: Strike.

The teacher's union in my area (B.C., Canada) have gone on a "walk-out" strike, and are picketing outside schools. That means for the students.. no school. All's well? Well, I've got three weeks of homework that was thrown on my, most of which I don't even know to begin, and I'm not a very good self-learner. On top of that I'm in my senior year of school. Not the way I was looking to end my pre-grad career.
Anyways, have the teachers ever gone on strike in your area?

A few years ago they went on strike. Just around my birthday, too. I got to stay home for it. ^_^
I was like in the 4th grade or so, then, so I don't remember much. It was awesome, though.

In my 3 years of mid-school (6-8) we had a strike every year, and I never got school off. <_<

Well my teachers did last you so I had 2 teachers for ever period last yer (first half of the year was the normal one's second half were from the strike)

You'se guys aint the only ones. Back in the sixth grade, a bunch of my teachers went on strike... but NYC being the super efficient machine that it is damnit... nothing happened, we went to school during the fuckin strike... assload of subs though... so that was fun.

lol, we were in 6th grade and we got to be in the strike :) It was kinda boring though, not alot of kids did it so theres was only about 1/5 of the school there, and we marched around a block over and over, i had no clue why we marched aroudn that block but we did for a good 5 hours damnit!!! XD

Our teachers want better teaching conditions, more funding for schools, higher paychecks, smaller classrooms, etc.
Stuff like that.
It's still happening.
