Title: Over/Under powered Special Abilities..
The Entertainer - October 19, 2005 01:15 AM (GMT)
I was looking through the special abilities... and, 3 abilities didn't really make sense.
First off, was the "positioning". I didn't really think it stood up against the other "promotion level plus 5" abilities. I mean, we had one that made you hite automatically, one that ignored defense/resistance, then one that let you win weapon triangle... I don't know. I think it would be more fun if the overall hit was [promoted level] x 2 + 5 , or something.
Also, the "Powerhouse", unless it meant +4 ON TOP of cap. If it doesn't however, it seems pretty meaningless considering you get 4 stats if you choose not to get an ability -_-
Last one, which is OVER powered, I think is Runeshield. I mean, blocking ALL CRITS past 30?! That basically denies any kind of critical archetype. Special abilities weren't suposed to be able to block off a whole archetype, were they?
This is all just my opinion anyways..

-Positioning, I really don't like that ability to. >_>
-With powerhouse, you can add 4 points naturally towards strength plus the 4 from powerhouse's ability. So theoretically one could have 28 strength at level 20/1.
-If you want rune shield, you have to already have 16 luck with an average growth as a prerequisite. Meaning your final character will have atleast 24 luck. To have the ability come to play, the opponent's critical rate has to be atleast 55.
Looking at it reasonably, rune shield is actually underpowered.

That's just what I was thinking about Runeshield, I was thining about creating a Good Defence and Resisit character, and then have Runeshield to back me up, but after seeing the requirements, it totally changed my decisiion.
