Title: Do you think Vampires are real?
Description: I dunno if it's random or not. Is it?
NinOdaSagE - November 10, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
Ever since I read a vampire story last weekend, I've been wondering my head off if vampires really exist. Since I'm a sucker for magic-y stuff, the part of me that's labelled "common sense" can't seem to convice the rest of my brain to believe that vampires might not be real. Did someone created this?? IS IT REAL???
Maybe I should reasearch this... but I'd like to know what you guys think ^^
It's kinda like Life's many mysteries... you just never know...-_-
Zephyr - November 10, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
Vampires are as real as Superman.

-_-...That means no?
*sigh* You never know. Mankind hasn't unraveled all the mysteries in the world yet.
You all probably think I'm stupid
Zephyr - November 10, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
That's true. Many things have yet to be discovered, but it's highly unlikely that vampires exist.
Archangel - November 10, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
there are legends of vampires as there are of ancient druids and stonehenge, no one really knows
Zephyr - November 10, 2005 04:24 AM (GMT)
Perhaps they existed in the past? :\
Archangel - November 10, 2005 04:38 AM (GMT)
no one really knows, and even to think anyone really knows the past is dumb if you think about it, time culd just be a matter of distance and in a different dimension only parallel to us, its really possible that our legends come from truths of a crossover. meaning vampires and mythological creatures may very well exist.
aiscool - November 10, 2005 04:54 AM (GMT)
yes, they do exist. there is a bat called the vampire bat. i does suck blood, but not from humans, it merely sucks it off of local animals....i guess i could suck your blood if you let it, and it wasnt too scared of you.
as far as my dear friend dracky?... well yes dracula did exist, but he was human. he was a count who would literaly drink the blood of some of those he killed *yuck!*.
but if your talking about bats that can turn into people and people into bats. then no, as far as any human has discovered. so you can rest at ease that the bat in you attic is not going to come down and suck the living daylights out of you...well the sleeping nightlight (teehee).
so if that helps you rest at ease, it has made my day :D
Chainsaw Buddy Chi - November 10, 2005 04:55 AM (GMT)
they exist, im one
not like a demonic bat thing but i do drink my own blood when i get a cut
so yeah, they do
Kipdog - November 10, 2005 05:56 PM (GMT)
Vampires are fake. It just isn't logical anyways. Honestly, sucking blood? Turning others into Vampires? If it was real, the U.S. would cover it up. like those darn aliens and U.F.O.s
Chainsaw Buddy Chi - November 10, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
Vampires are real, but like i said, not the evil half bat zombifying ones, just like Vlad the Impaler
Taoma - November 10, 2005 07:37 PM (GMT)
I think they are real >.> Dont laugh at me. its my opinion :P
Destin - November 10, 2005 08:34 PM (GMT)
The way I see it is that if it was a myth made up by the human mind, then there is about a 1/godknowshowhigh chance of it being true. I think people made up stuff aboutthe undead, and without proof, it's just a myth, completely unproven. Until I see red-eyed, pale-skinned, flying bat people, I will not believe in vampires.

If vampires are myths, then how you you know that they look like that? It could be someone's imagination.
Honestly, the more I think about all the mysteries in universe, the more I realize just how LITTLE we know. Everything we have here was created and shaped. ie. language, mathematics, etc. Numbers are just symbols that we humans have given a value to... Aren't words the same?
My head is gonna burst from over-analysis.. :ph43r:
Trace Stratus - November 11, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
I believe in Arucard! Because he kicks to much ass to not be real!!!!!
Seriously, I doubt there existance. i bet back then it was more like a label you put on people who sucked blood and all the abilities were just add ons.
Longinus - November 11, 2005 12:42 AM (GMT)
Vampires could very much be real, and don't get on at me for using this as an example, but during an episode of Smallville Vampirism was caused by an infection, like rabies, carrying symptoms like elongated canines, increased senses and strength, and canabalistic tendencies, so what if vampirism was just that, a disease, spread like dogs spread rabies.
Axem Titanium - November 11, 2005 01:51 AM (GMT)
All myths have a basis in truth. The legend of Vlad Tepes probably greatly influenced vampire lore and such. There are also plenty of references to transformation everywhere in culture which lends to vampires with their bat stuff. Vampires are a logical impossibility but no one says that they follow logic.
Trace Stratus - November 11, 2005 02:17 AM (GMT)
Logic sucks! fantasy is allw e need! ^^
Longinus - November 11, 2005 02:18 AM (GMT)
Yes, but if you go off of logic, I mean, just think of it...Vampirism is a lot like rabies....transferred through a bite, causes the infected person to go slightly mad, bringing them to bite another...its completely possible if you base it on logic.
Trace Stratus - November 11, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
That does sound cool but I mean in everything in life. With fantasy, when your bored you can go beat the living hell out of some orcs!^^ (I know about the hardships, pains, and deaths that would happen with this but stfu!)
The disease sounds like the best logical way for vampirism to have existed.
Dragon_Tam3r - November 11, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
Who really knows? there could eb a world of vampires woundering if there's a world of humans...... so they can suck our blood in a horrible war which we have no way to live, only pawns to get killed and destoied but the tyrant vampires
Longinus - November 11, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
I know, but fantasy is all that it ever will be.....a dream....logic can be explained by past experiences...
Axem Titanium - November 11, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
Actually, it makes more sense to think of vampirism as an STD.
Longinus - November 11, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Well, if you think of it, Rabies is a type of STD...although its like a special STD that can only be spread through direct contact of saliva to the blood stream, like a bite...
Trace Stratus - November 11, 2005 02:32 AM (GMT)
Sorry...I can not and will not think of vampirism as STDs...*shivers*
Axem Titanium - November 11, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
That's just being delusional. Vampires have always been associated with sex and the bite is supposed to be a very sexual act (possible origin of the term 'love bites').
Trace Stratus - November 11, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Call it what every you want but it doesn't change the fact that everytime you say that it reminds me of the that "You've Got AIDs" song they had on Family Guy.
NinOdaSagE - November 11, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
The talk of the whole topic is making me rather dizzy. I heart vampires and all, but in the end, we really don't know if they exist or not!!
GAAHHH!!!!
...my apologies for that outburst. Please continue
Longinus - November 11, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
No, but seriously...Vampirism is a very sexual night...even demons when you think about it...I mean, the concept of Incubi...sexuality is concerned with many odd and strange things, and who's to say Vampirism isn't an STD...isn't rabies a version of and STD?
Axem Titanium - November 11, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
Longinus - November 11, 2005 03:07 AM (GMT)
Hey, vampirism is so much better than AIDS!
Axem Titanium - November 11, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
Well, I can't very well say "Enjoy your Vampirism!" or something because they probably would.
SpiralStatic - November 11, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
Yep, Vampirism is closest in nature to some sort of STD, except with slightly reversed effects. If the myths are true, which may or may not be the case, Vampirism would make a person temporally impervious to just about every thing. Meaning they can't die of natural causes, seeing as they're now somewhat unnatural. However, I think the whole immortality and seduction part are the coolest parts of being a vampire. I'd love to be a Vampire actually. But that's just my curious teenage side talking.

:o ...Me too....
It's a kind of twisted in a way though. I mean, you kill people everyday..then again...>_<...it's for survival.
Longinus - November 12, 2005 10:57 PM (GMT)
Actually, you don't HAVE to kill someone...you could just drink enough to survive....and there's rats...I mean, really, I'd be a vampire! I love vampires...but I'm glad that Reyde actually agrees with me...but yeah, it would be weird...

Um...and then what? You'd risk being exposed to humans and perhaps you'd turn the victim into a vampire also.
Longinus - November 12, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
Actually, in a book I'm reading, they believe that if you feed a human vampire blood, that they become inthralled with you...so, wouldn't that solve the problem, also, they believe that it takes a conscious act of will to turn someone into a vampire, so you can keep feeding on a select group of people without killing them...you know?
NinOdaSagE - November 12, 2005 11:19 PM (GMT)
*gulp*
That's...kinda creepy, but it kinda of explains why vampires haven't been discovered yet, assuming they DO exist -_-
I read somewhere that whe you feed vampire blood to a human though, it bonds the vampire to them..like a servant-master bond.
Furthermore, I read SOMEWHERE ELSE that what you said about the conscious act of turning a human into a vampire also true...
I read so much that I forget just as much as I take in <_<
Longinus - November 12, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
See...so I'm not just a creepy weirdo, but yes, that probably explains why if vampires are real that they haven't been caught yet...but I still stick to my semi-STD idea...I mean, maybe with the whole feeding blood thing it infects the person to such a small amount that it doesn't have all the effects on them...

So it'll become a dormant virus thingie and then slowly grow in size/intesnity until the human tranforms or something? Soo...if the prisoners of the vampires become vampires, then they get more ppl and suck their blood and...and... ...
I'm starting to creep myself out to some degree. <_<
