Today, well yesterday now, was my very first public guitar preformance, i was shaking, messed up three times on the first part of the song, and i think my mindless mumbling drowned out the guitar.
My mom said i did good but she is supposed to say that.

Its just sort of a human thing. Its only if you get nervous...it takes a bit of practice I guess. I don't really get nervous, but if I do, I'll just send all the energy elsewhere.

For example, when you cross your arms and you want to keep a straight face, you focus on your arms, rather than your face. Meh, its hard to explain.

Just keep in mind. No matter what, you'll always be better than me (you know, that random guy on the forums named Schtolwhatshisnameagain) at any musical instrument.

Except for desks. I drum a pretty mean beat on desks.

Everyone has their own beat for desks.

Maybe going with what Kip said, you could tap your foot to the beat instead of getting nervous.
