Title: Memories/Senses

sara13987 - December 23, 2005 08:11 PM (GMT)
Like, which sense do you think triggers the most memories the easiest?

I, personally, think sound does. I can hear a song, and then be instantly reminded of events that happened when that song was on. Sometimes, the events are in pretty good detail...

I think sight does....it triggers Deja Vu, which I am a firm believer of, although in a different way.

I think the sight reminds you of something, and then it causes a reaction which leads to Deja Vu....

I think it depends entirley on the person....me, being a musical person, have the most memories triggered by sound. However, others I know are triggered by sight, and some by smell. And of course, there is that whole if it feels hot you shouldn't touch it thing...

Danzar - December 24, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
Sound or sight for me.

Severian - December 24, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
Touch, but sound I have the best memory of (that is, I can hear any song in my head perfectly).

Kojiro - December 24, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
Mine is.. trail of thought. If I thought of something. let's say... Apples...

Apples>Trees>Plants>Seeds>Choking>Breathing>Panting>Excercise

I'm weird :/

Yeah, my train of thought's pretty random, too, Crayola. I can't remember a specific one, but.... yeah.

For example, on my whole sound one, everytime I hear "Drops of Jupiter" by Train, I remember a scene at a nearby water park when I was in grade 5. It was still around the time that my next door neighbor pretty much lived at my house. Me, my brother, and him all went to the water park, and then out for ice cream afterwards. Taht song was on sometime within that time frame. Then, like, for train of thought, another memory occuring within a year/summer later, when me, my best friend, her brother, and the same next door neighbor ended up at the same water park, where the next door neighbor and Cheryl's brother had a bellyflop contest, and how it ended.

Other songs just randomly remind me of a game I was playing, because I usually listen to different music while playing. Ex: Evanescence --> HM:FoMT

Senses.

I seem to remember some weird stuff when I smell thing, don't know why. but of course, sight is a big one for me, too.

Sight mostly does it for me... Triggered by similar traits that correspond with my thoughts/memories.

SilverGale - December 26, 2005 09:56 PM (GMT)
Sound mostly, since I sing a lot.
Sight can trigger it as well . . .
OR some random words can . . .

For me it's probably more sight than anything, but the funny thing is, is that when I can remember the environment I was in, that's when I am reminded of the sounds around and what the people were saying and such. And for some odd reason I can remember almost full scenes of my life when I was around 5-8 years old, yet I sometimes have trouble remebering lessons in school that occurred on the same day -.-

I know other people have told you this about your other posts, but again, please stop spamming. You don't have to be dead serious in LUE, but you should at least attempt to post some kind of related idea when responding. Noting a number someone uses does not qualify as this.
EDIT-Thank you Ivan, though I'm guessing this guy is actually just joking around. I'm hoping he isn't actually this dumb.
