Description: While FEW's RPG is down.
Kipdog - January 10, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
Please tell me what type of event you would enjoy doing while FEW's RPG is down.
Trace Stratus - January 10, 2006 11:11 PM (GMT)
Top Ten: biggest n00b/best typist, RP'er, leader forum member/ best attitude/most knowledgable/ect.ect.ect. kind of contest.
Lionheart - January 10, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
Perhaps a debate contest?
Sojourn - January 11, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
ehh....the thing about that is.....not many people are good at debating
or they may not want too
Ryetsei - January 11, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)
I like Arucard's idea, as without the RPG I don't come here a lot anymore.

Uh...elaborate?
Severian - January 11, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
A scoring contest in some game members actually try out.
*sobs*
Lets just forget about voting and popularity contests, we already do the FEW awards once a year. Moreover, these things can be easily run by normal members, and often are in RI. It's not that it'd be bad, just that we do them already.
Silenthunder - January 11, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
What I would want to happen would depend on how long until the RPG is ready. If it will be a long time then debates may become boring, and the voting won't last that long.

Yeah, we cant really do FEW Awards yet. All contests can be easily run by normal members for the most part. :P
I'd say, maybe a questionarre of sorts. With like 50 questions about FEW and its members, etc.
Juan - January 11, 2006 01:06 AM (GMT)
I like the questionarre idea kip but how about the fe games like a quiz on fe7.
Kipdog - January 11, 2006 01:09 AM (GMT)
Coming up with 50 questions for a Fire Emblem game would take alot more work. I'll just stick with the general board. All answers will be able to be found somewhere on the board.
SpiralStatic - January 11, 2006 02:17 AM (GMT)
Good idea kip, and we'll all turn in our answers and such, and we'd post the top scores/rankings.

I originally had this idea for the Holiday's. Hell, there could be a prize of a custom member group. No...I said could, not would.
SpiralStatic - January 11, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
It'd be badass for me if I won. The group would Reyde the Badass. If it were actually a prize.
Kipdog - January 11, 2006 03:28 AM (GMT)
Own member icon and stuff. Possibly different colored name.
Sojourn - January 11, 2006 03:39 AM (GMT)
i wanna help......but if i helped i wouldnt be able to get a custom group :"(
but thats if you are having that as the prize
Kojiro - January 11, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)
That would own, like you, Kip.
Kipdog - January 11, 2006 03:52 AM (GMT)
All I'd have to do is come up with all of the questions.
Kojiro - January 11, 2006 03:58 AM (GMT)
Silenthunder - January 11, 2006 04:38 AM (GMT)
So it would be like a FEW scavenger hunt? That would be cool.
Kipdog - January 11, 2006 04:56 AM (GMT)
Yup, I suppose you could call it that.
NinOdaSagE - January 11, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
Aww, when izzit starting? (next month, hopefully -_-)
Ryetsei - January 12, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
Damn...there goes my extremely slim chance at winning...
Phoenix - January 12, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)
A debate contest would be awesome! Maybe there should be like a pool of topics in categories you can choose from like LUE, Government, FE, Random Stuff, etcetera.

I did try it, but my score was embarressingly low :(
For the next contest, if you hold one, could you pick one from
MoFunZone , or
Miniclip? Preferably Meowww, since I rock at it =D (I'm just suggesting it since there is no download involved with sites like them.
Silenthunder - January 13, 2006 03:25 AM (GMT)
If you pick a game from miniclip we should do Heli-Attack 2.
Kipdog - January 13, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
That wouldnt be an awesome event. I couldnt figure out much to do except say to get a high score. I still say the questionnare...if I ever finish it. :P

I probably wasn't here when this happened.
Apocalypse - January 17, 2006 01:41 AM (GMT)
A "Defend Your Character" type contest for the GBA FE's would be cool. I'll explain how it works:
People select their character which they wish to defend in the tournament. Any playable character from FE6-FE8 can be used. I'd rather leave FE9 out of it because its so much different than the GBA games due to skills, biorhythm, new weapons, etc. The number of people who want to participate will determine how the bracket is set up. First come, first serve, and no two people can defend the same character. Once everyone is ready, I'l randomly select who goes against who and set up the tournament.
When the debate topics are started, each participant must argue that their character is superior to the other character. Each side gets to make three posts showing their arguments. At the end of those three posts, all the members of the board, excluding those who were debating, are welcome to PM me or whoever else wants to help run it with a vote and an explanation. Try and sound intelligent and unbiased in your vote. Something like "I vote for Hector cause I don't like Eliwood" doesn't cut it. However, you could go ahead and say "I vote for Eliwood because <Eliwood's defendant> exploited the weaknesses in Hector and showed the strengths of Eliwood. While Hector could most likely win in a fight, <Eliwood's defendant> proved that Eliwood is far more useful than Hector in the main game due to <reasons>."
And then we continue with that until one person comes out on top. I'm willing to run it, as well as participate, but I'll need another person to collect votes when I'm debating, and I'll do the same for them. It also wouldn't hurt if they had moderating powers so they could close finished debate topics.
So, anyone like the idea?

So, Kip, how much have you done in your quiz?

I'm still on question 7. I've been busy with uh...mid terms and such lately.
Kojiro - January 19, 2006 06:15 AM (GMT)
Oh, okay. How long do you think until you finish it?
Kipdog - January 19, 2006 06:27 AM (GMT)
Dunno. I'm generally rather lazy.
Kojiro - January 19, 2006 06:37 AM (GMT)
I'd finish it, but so am I :o
