7 has the best characters and storyline but I voted 10 because the graphics were(and still are) stunning for its time. (doesn't compare to Shadow of Collosus of coarse)

Well duh trace. Collosus' graphics are stunning. Amazing.

I voted tactics, even though it ripped a whole lot from Fire Emblem 4 IMO. I didn't vote 3 because I thought you meant the NES 3, but FF VI (use the japanese numbering if you're going to talk about PS games, since there's no 3 for the PS) was my favorite. It had my favorite overall soundtrack, story (mostly), and good gameplay.

Also voted 7 for the hell of it.

I actually don't like FFIV. Much. The music was great, the gameplay was ok, but the story was horribly done. FFII's was better. I actually place it around ff5, though the only reasons why I rank #5 so high are Galuf, The Big Bridge music, Gilgamesh, and the Piano Master thing.

Finally, on a sidenote, I did not like Chrono Trigger *mauled by screaming fans* and I actually did like Live a Live. Orsted and Sunset were badass, what can I say?

FF VII

Fav. character on that game is Sephiroth. He is so awesome in that game.
It also has the best story of all the FF's I have played.

FF7 - Worst characters ever, with Sephirous and Cloud supposedly being 'the same person' (I know Cloud is just a clone). Horrid storyline.

FF8 and Tactics rank at the top for me, though X and X-2 come in close second.

I liked VIII, though most people irrationally hate it, because the gameplay was alright which is a rarity and the overall plot was nice.

I thought VII was alright, though I'm still not really attached to Sephiroth. Not only did the Cloud-as-a-clone make no sense physically, but I also don't like how Sephiroth's personality goes kaput after Nibelheim. It's kinda hard to think of him as much more than some Jenova obsessed wannabe god. I just liked the ending shot with Red a lot.

I've been around. Not a lot of time to post, I'm usually just checking the board while running through email.

The characters in 7 never really got the chance to develop full potential. It was a situation where they said, "There's a story here somewhere, but we're not going to tell you what it is." (Square) FF7 was lame because of that. Graphics can be forgiven, but storyline lapses leave much to be desired.

FFVII is a masterpiece even if it was rushed into a release. MAybe that's why people think it's bad though.

My fave character was Zack. He is awesomer then Cloud especially when you see him in Advent Children with Aeris.

You didn't pay attention, the game made sense of itself if you'd bothered to. Cloud wasn't a Sephiroth clone, and Zack still kicked major ass. If you thought he was cool in FFVIIAC, just watch him in FFVII: Last Order. He actually fights, and boy, does he kick ass.

That's something about FFVII, people don't understand it because they don't pay attention... FFX was good, but I didn't like 8 all that much. You could say the exact same thing with Cloud/Sephiroth about Squall/Leon. Although Cloud doesn't even share Sephiroth's consciousness. Anyway, FFVII is self explanatory... you just have to pay attention to what's going on. You really might miss something.

Meh. I think FF7 is overrated. Not necesarily by those that have posted here, but you should see some of the FF7 fanboys...*shivers*

7 was vastly overrated. And they should have done the movie with 8 or 9. Come on! Who wants to watch Seph and Cloud when there's Laguna in VIII or Vivi in IX?

Because FFVII was vastly overrated, that's why. It's all about the money, and the one FF they could money-grub was VII. With all the fanboys out there, it was financially the project most worth it.
