Title: Ew... Sickening

Pitiful Sight

What the hell is wrong for people? Isn't it obvious that it is sort of thing is wrong? Sick girls are gross. EAT A SANDWICH!

Alex - February 14, 2006 10:27 PM (GMT)
God X_X

Girls are scary if you can clearly see their ribs. X_X

*raises hand* Mine aren't able to be seen, only when I inhale. I win, right?

I'm still not looking. I'm scared the sight will scar me forever. :/

Yes, you are still respectable.

It's not all too bad, just pitiful.

Hey, a few of them actually look pretty good.

Most are vomit inducing, though. It's really bad when there are a few inches stretching inward just underneath the ribcage. Makes 'em look like skellys.

Valter - February 14, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
Ugh.... They are so skinny that the boobs are dissapearing. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Blah. Don't they know that you could turn out like that Olsen twin, Lindsy Lohan, or that girl on Dr. Phil if they don't eat?

They're not so cute when you have to tape them so they don't rip out during volleyball. I've heard an awful gross story about that. :/

Can we get back to the topic at hand, please? Which seems to be something along the lines of anorexia/bulemia and how young girls are influenced by the media to try and be skinny.

Exactly Sara! It's sickening! Girls shouldn't be sticks damnit.

Hiei - February 15, 2006 12:26 AM (GMT)
Half those girls aren't sticks, they have flat stomachs. That's good...

I think most of it is jealousy

sara13987 - February 15, 2006 12:27 AM (GMT)
... ... ... Of course not. So many people, not only girls, get eating disorders every year to be like that. It's insane, as well as dangerous for your health. It takes people who are really confident with their bodies to stand up to the media and such, trying to persuade such young, impressionable girls that you don't need to starve yourself to be pretty.

Trace Stratus - February 15, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)
I'm not talking about the fine ones, just that one picture with the girl that you can count here ribs and shade your head under the space between it and her stomach.

Oh? And flat stomachs are good because they're attractive to you, is that right?

Jealousy isn't always the thing. Explain my situation, then, hmm?

They shouldn't be blobs either. :(

Skinny isn't bad. In fact IMO it's rather good.. That said, being underweight isn't a good thing at all, in fact it's almost as bad as being overweight.

Flat stomach is healthy... and I said MOST of it, please read before coming with your complaints.

The Entertainer - February 15, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
No offense dudes, but for the most part, the only girls complaining bout media influencing them to become skinny... are the fat ones.

Skinny = healthy

one of those girls, the one with the ribs poppin out of her chest wasn't healthy... the rest, I'd say is pretty much what a ... healthy... stomach should look like.

sara13987 - February 15, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
I'm 105 lbs, and I'm complaining. Say that's fat, and you're killing about 95% of the girls in my school.

I personally know people who've let the media get to them, and I'm almost one of them. This is a serious topic. It needs attention.

Skinny isn't always healthy. Starving yourself isn't healthy, both mentally or physically.

strikeraider827 - February 15, 2006 12:58 AM (GMT)
People, my problem wasn't the pics as much as the comments from girls. It's sickening.

This is so much better than "98% of teens have smoked pot [and I have/haven't]."

And, Hiei, your last picture on that little list wasn't of anyone who looked good. Look at that empty look on her face, it just reminds me of a cow instead of a person. And I'm no fan of bestiality. Eww. Grosser than "Skelly Kellys".

And I don't see any of those girls with 6-packs, or anything close. Where's the muscle? That's not particularly healthy IMO. Fit=/=Skinny. And you don't have to be a man to be in shape.

...Well, damn. If you're complaining, and you're 105, I feel like a bloated cow. o.o I'm not going to starve myself over it, though. x.x Though I would like to lose a few pounds, that's not really the point.

The media is a poison to a normal teenage girl. We all get influenced by the models, and wonder, "What if I could look like that?" Combine this with all the diet fads and we have a massive increase in malnutrition, anorexia, and bulemia... all in the strive to lose weight.

...I fail to understand why this isn't being taken seriously. It's a widespread problem, nowadays. :(

Meh, I'm influenced not by the media, but by my own self-image. I'm getting more lenient on my weight, though. It's just, I've got smaller bones. Put your hand around my wrist and you'd see that.

Don't starve yourself over it. I'm at a healthy weight for my body. Both my parents' sides are very tiny, width-wise. I can understand wanting to lose a few pounds; almost every girl does that. It's just when those pounds lead to a few more pounds, and so on.

It is a problem! And, even look at this topic. It's not even the media affecting the girls themselves that's the problem; it's the media affecting what the guys find attractive. Some people will do anything to make themselves look attractive. The reason girls want to lose weight isn't always because of being healthy; what about the perfectly normal girls? The ones who are at the perfect weight? They do it for what they perceive to be attractive for the opposite sex. It's the same thing that guys do about muscles; not all girls find them attracive. Except, this can be so much more dangerous. You can never see yourself in comparison to other people. You can't see yourself in the third person perspective, so you can never tell when you've gone too far. It's... It's scary.

Guys don't seem to see everything thatg we do, Kurai, because they aren't influenced by it as much, I suppose. Perhaps it's just... good for them, if we do it. :/

And that girl IS underweight, Cadin. Her ribs were poking out.
