A broken Unification system? It wouldn't work. At least, it wouldn't work for humans. The world would fall into anarchy, with human's natural sense of greed.

A rebellion would arise, with two or three countries arguing about the amount of land, or trade, or resources each was getting. A war would start inevitably, and that would deplete our resources even faster.

Natural resources, again, would start arguments, for they would have to be shared/divided equally, to avoid arguments and wars.

If there was a war, and it included the United States and another (most likely Eastern) country, the ABM(Anti-Ballistic Missile) treaty would prevent the use of the very weapons and the adequate defense against such weapons, and we would be bombed to hell.

The world would fall backwards into the early stages of trade, which has its ups and downs.

in a way, i think it would be better......there wouldn't be any evil dictators *coughcoughgeorgebushcoughcough*, and there wouldn't be any countries thinking that the were superior than others, since there wouldn't be any countries. i dont know how to explain this; i think it would be really good, but it would also have some bad things (ex: no set teams for olympics)

The Former US would claim everything as theirs and when the war started the planet would blow up (missiles would be aimed at silos causeing a chainreation.)

lets put it this way with the weapons we currently have it would suck cuz every where would be bombed but if we only had the use of old fashion weapons (as in no guns or missiles) it would just be chaotic and another government wold set up again

if we could live in a world without them... we would be fine... but I'm thinking.... when rules are set up... people break them... but in some countries... you can drink any age so drunk driving isn't a problem because they think of acohol like soda almost... so its no big deal thus they do not bother making a big deal about it.... HOWEVER, making drinking legal in all ages here after all the years its been banned... would become chaos... so i we had a country with one rule in the first place... we would have the perfect civilization.... this one rule would be don't do something bad and if anyone broke this rule, they would have a trial to decide if it was truly bad or not... then the world could live in peace... of course the only way to do this now would be to either go back in time and prevent government or just erase every person's mind in the world of government.... which could only happen in Harry Potter :P

Yeah and there was a completely uncorrupted government, EX: we took kids and raised them from birth to be completely impartial. and the death sentance was reinstated, i'd like 2 see someone steal something when they'd have 2 face death.

.....high gas prices? i saw gas for $1.73 a gallon(today) they are coming back down. but if we would be allowed to drill in alaska it might help some more.

....even if i did, i wouldnt make much of a difference.... all of NFLD's resources (including the oil field) are being drained off us so we're millions or even billions of dollars in debt. i guess the prices isn't really alot since they have to ship the gas and oil and stuff here.....

right now its like a quarter less... but yeah the gas prices here were like 85+ cents a LETER! thats quite a bit.

Simpley we would probley all de-evolve (if that can even happen) and start living in trees with the monkeys ^_^ hehe... ^_^ ...monkey...anyway. Then after time the earth would be cured from polution and stuff because humans are no longer there to make it. than after more time humans would come back having a new chance to start the world... but we would most likley screw it up and end up back where we started...
