Title: A Complaint

Okay, I know I seem like a newb here, but I have a very high reputation on an even more active Fire Emblem Based RPG forum being Sorry, no advertising here. Move along. First of all, I love the originality of this forum. The skin changer at the bottom is nice, and the community seems to be very friendly. Other than that, the lack of organization makes for a rather messy, and quite unprofessional looking forum.
First and foremost, the Arena is a mess. Over 200 replies, and no form of organization whatsoever. I'd HIGHLY suggest making a forum entitled "Arenas", with a few subforums. One of them being the "Standard Arena". This is pretty much what you guys already have, but it's a forum, rather than a thread. This is where all battles would be held, but NOT where they would be signed up for. That would be in a seperate subforum, the "Standard Arena Lobby". This is where people make seperate threads for their characters, and other people reply in hopes of scoring a battle. The person who created the thread would reply as to whether they accept or reject the challenge. Seems simple, no? Also, it would be wise to create an "NPC Arena" for those who can't seem to get a battle. Create an NPC for each level, 1-20/20, and post them here. Hell, you might even want to make two NPC arenas, one of them being "Promoted" and the other being "Unpromoted". Another thing, you guys have a completely wrong style of battling. During a battle, if it's merely a 1-on-1, there should be no option of "Running Away" or switching weapons. Granted, you're allowed to quit an arena battle, but that's because if your character dies, you lose him forever. On this forum, that's not the case. I honestly think that if you accept a fight, you can't back out half way through. Also, I can't believe you guys just let anybody judge the matches. I keep on seeing "I stat you RNG", but what makes you think that EVERYBODY knows how to "Stat" or "RNG"? I think that you should have to prove yourself in order to be considered a judge(which could also be a completely different Member Group altogether). If you have any questions as to how exactly a person would prove themselves as a judge, just ask, and I'll tell you, but if you already have an idea for it...ask anyways, because I have a bit of an idea for that.
Secondly, where are the social forums? I see no "Chat", "Multimedia Chat", "Sports Chat", or anything like that. They're a must in a forum.
Any other questions, PM me or IM me. My MSN and AIM screen names are listed in the Official Topic.

This was posted over at our board, the FEABL. I'm quite sure it was stated perfectally clear over there, but I'd like to make this known here nice and even clearer, to finalize things. First off, it is nobody's business to come over and try to convert our rules or our hard work on headers and stuff. If you have a complaint, keep it to yourself. This has upset some of our people very much. We have been around for a long time, and are quite content with our traditions. Thank you.

Seems constructive to me. I don't see what's to get upset about, really... But if you do have a problem with it, that's fine, I can understand. I don't really see what the fuss is though to come over here complaing & all... he really did nothing wrong.

Wow, you're taking this wayy too far buddy. I posted it in a "Feedback and Input" forum, not a "Complaints" forum. Just a little constructive critisism, learn to take it.
The Proletarian - March 6, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Not really constructive, in our eyes. We've gone through several changings, starting at a GFAQS board and then moving to the IF format. I believe one of our admins back home came and trolled this board, and for that on behalf of our board, I'm sorry. We are, however, very traditional, and I guess the thing that got us fired up was the (absurd) idea of changing our header.

You're right.
this is much better than
this.

I have to agree with pondy on this one. It was only constructive certicism. By now anyone who is read this forum know you are traditional. So I have to wonder, do you guys traditionally shoot down any suggestion that comes your way? Or is it your tradition to create Log in names just so you can complain on somebody elses board?

Srjohn and Pondy, I don't mean to sound like astickler, and have no power over what you can and cannot say, but I don't think it is in our forums' best interests to have a flame war. If they rather stay traditional, let them be-it is their own decision.

I think anyone with so much pride that they can't stand a little constructive criticism deserves to be criticized just to annoy the shit out of them.

Your problem is with Pondy, NOT FEW. So I'm going to close this as it doesn't belong here. If you have a problem with Pondy, work it out somewhere else.

This is correct. I realize why you may have come over here, but even though Pondy attempted to suggest features from Fire Emblem Wars, his opinion does not reflect those of FEW as a whole and there was no need to bring your complaints here.
Please resolve these problems privately with Pondy via email or instant message. Thank you.
