Is awesome.
No seriously, I love some of the themes from video games.
There's a small list of my favourites Here.
What about the rest of you? How do you like your video game music?

I'm not going to make a big deal about how a games OST HAS to be orchestrated, have complex layers, and such. I want simple songs I can get into in a game, meaning my favs are all songs like Tetris A/B/C, Donkey Kong Country's "Gang Plank Galleon" tune, Kirby's "Dreamland", "Green Greens", "King Dedede's Theme", y'know, simple stuff. Not to say I don't like Orchestarted stuff. I love the OST from "Skies of Arcadia" and the Zelda series.

I'll name my top 4 music scince that's all I know by name.

4. The Desian Theme- Tales of Symphonia
3. Old One Winged Angel- FF 7
2. Along the Dusty Road- ToS
1. Pretty much everything but the Money Pit in Soul Caliber II

The Age of empirs stuff is always good. Like how they always re-do the same tune.

I'm a fan of:

-Halo Music [Orchestrated and modern]
-SSBM
-FF
-ToS

All of that is orchestrated, but Halo easily sounds the best.

SpiralStatic - April 23, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
CT... simple as that. That and FF. They're both square anyway

Ryetsei - April 24, 2006 12:27 AM (GMT)
ToS, definitely, and Final Fantasy. I hate to sound like everyone else with those, but, that's the truth. Oh, and throw Baten Kaitos in there, too. That had some great music. Favorites, though, I don't have any. I love all the music from those three games, or in FF's case, series of games.

I agree. My personal favourites come from FFT & ToS.

I really think the original Zelda for the NES demonstrated 8-bit music to its full capacity. It still holds its own against some 16-bit music... and of course, aLttP had incredible music for a 16-bit system, but i wouldn't call it my favorite.

Silenthunder - May 16, 2006 03:34 AM (GMT)
I like the old Mario music. It's easy to sing...or "doot", and pretty much everyone knows what it is.

I don't see a thing there I don't agree with. Except Star Ocean till the end of time and Fire Emblem should be higher up.
