Title: In need of Spriting Co-Ranker.
KuraiKitsune - May 1, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
I can't believe this never crossed my mind before. <_< I'd like to thank Gogeta for making a topic that reminded me of it. (If he wasn't Graphics mod, I'd have asked him for help, but I don't want to burden him with two forums if he doesn't want it. Plus, I wanted to make things more interesting.)
Well, I'd like to start off by apologizing to everyone active in the Sprite areas. It was irresponsible for me to take leave without having someone judging/ranking sprites in my stead. v.v I accept any consequence that you all deem worthy for my ignorance.
Secondly, I'd like to find someone who could rank sprites alongside me.
HOWEVER.
I would like to have confidence, knowing that they aren't bias, that they know what they're talking about, and that they're capable of putting forth work that can actually qualify for Master Rankings (sorry to be biased towards that myself, but it's for the good of the people. x.x).
Animations aren't necessary, but... well, I'm not that good at animating, so someone who knows how to do those really well might help. I'd also like to see some versatility with different styles, or at least an extreme mastery with one style.
I say that we hold a contest to see who can help me out... with the approval of the Mods and Forum Team, of course. ^^'' I'd like to see someone who can beat me to help me out. Would you grant me permission to start such a competition, and, for normal members, would you be willing to participate if such a competition were avaliable? o.o
Ronian - May 1, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
Heh, I'd love to help. But first I'd have to actually DO some sprite work... aside from the tiny bit I've worked on.
A good idea, though.
I Have a Sandwich - May 1, 2006 06:02 AM (GMT)
I would try but if I did thoretically enter a master sprite (Be a trick XD), I'd have to wait 3 more weeks to get it judged by yeh XD
legoroy2 - May 1, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
Ooo! Ooo! Pick me! Pick me! I'll finally have something to do!
asdfgh2004 - May 1, 2006 04:38 PM (GMT)

Lionheart - May 1, 2006 05:04 PM (GMT)
You can do whatever you want to decide the next sprite judge.
Kojiro - May 1, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)

Ah ha, ah ha. Laugh it up, smart guy. x.x
No, beating me once doesn't count. :P

(Edited)
Now, let's begin.
Each of us shall have the task of modifying one sprite and one mug into a Fire Emblem or Golden Sun character from any of the games. However, no mugs from the Fire Emblem series may be used, and the same applies for the sprites. (Same applies for Golden Sun.) They will be judged on the 'trueness to the character', the quality of the color, the amount of customization, and the mastery of the sprite as a whole.
To put it simply, take a sprite from any game (or make it pix-by-pix) to create a Fire Emblem or Golden Sun character. You need both a sprite and a mug, so look through various games to find what you need to accomplish your task.
Ingenuity and originality will be rewarded, as well. Sadly, exclusively recoloring sprites cannot be rewarded in this competition.
Those who submit animations that are at least 10 frames long are exempt from making the mug, though talking mugs will not exempt you from spriting. Use any style you wish, but make sure to keep the base handy; any entries without bases will be automatically disqualified.
If you are interested, post here with the intention to enter. The due date will be assigned after I assess the number of positive applicants, whom I will give three days to register. Thank you. ^_^

I am interested.
(Oh, and check your PM Inbox. If you wish, post in my topic. You are allowed)
I Have a Sandwich - May 1, 2006 11:06 PM (GMT)
So we do an FE in another games style or animate? But what do we animate? And can we do both?
Kojiro - May 1, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
No, you take a character from another game and make it FE style.
Sojourn - May 1, 2006 11:11 PM (GMT)
so are we supposed to do something like pix by pix?
or can we take a FE mug/sprite and modify it to what we disire
i dont understand
Kojiro - May 1, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
Actually, I'm wquite confused.
Do we make an FE or GS person into another style? Or vice versa?
>_>
KuraiKitsune - May 1, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
Vice versa. x.x Hold on. Let me edit my post and clarify things a bit.
Edit: Better?
Kojiro - May 1, 2006 11:18 PM (GMT)
Thank you.
(And check your PM Inbox)
Sojourn - May 1, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
nope still not getting it....
so just say yes or no...say i take cloud and edit a FE mug to make it look like him would that be acceptable?
KuraiKitsune - May 1, 2006 11:21 PM (GMT)
...No. If anything, the other way around. For example, if I wanted to create Eliwood, I could take a Cloud mug from FFT and create him. That's what I meant.
Kyrillos - May 1, 2006 11:29 PM (GMT)
[notes that he's an original judge of that area >_>]
KuraiKitsune - May 1, 2006 11:30 PM (GMT)
Oops... I'd forgotten about that.
My apologies, Aien. :( Can I still hold this competition, though?

KuraiKitsune - May 1, 2006 11:50 PM (GMT)
True, but... but... hey, you got that banner from the Gaia Grammar Guild, didn't you? :XD
Oh. But, anyways, I'd like to ask Aien if he would allow me to continue, first...
I Have a Sandwich - May 1, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
Gaia grammar guild? No. Afriend on another forum had it.
Kyrillos - May 2, 2006 02:11 AM (GMT)
Sure. Dun care.
XD
I rarely judge anyways, even though I am one.
KuraiKitsune - May 2, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
Good, good. Thank you very much. ^_^
Kojiro - May 2, 2006 02:15 AM (GMT)
Hmm... I'll make an official topic I guess.
EDIT Actually, Kurai, post it in the Updates forum if you can. If you can't, someone else will.
KuraiKitsune - May 2, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
I am not authorized to. Would you do it for me, Luis? Just quote the necessary posts and cut out what's irrelevant.
Kojiro - May 2, 2006 02:24 AM (GMT)
Done!
This topic has served its purpose.
