Title: I just realized something...
sara13987 - May 24, 2006 11:44 PM (GMT)
Alright, so, I've been searching the entire site for the
old FEW Vending Machine Topic (any help would be greatly appreciated), and I ran into 'Ivan's old topic (
Click HERE to read it.) It made me think alot about the political era, about what he said about EL, and, more importantly, about my leadership.
I realized something very ironic.
I'm the spitting image of the Russian Revolution. I went into the leadership with my main intentions being to create a house where everyone had an equal share of the work and the profits. It went that way for a while, and then, much like Joseph Stalin, power corrupted me. It went to the point where I kept anything and everything from my members, occassionally posting polls about major moves like war, even though I knew that if the poll didn't go my way, I've probably ignore it. I turned from this, pardon my wording, an innocent naive girl to a power-hungry monster of a leader. As Axem stated... somewhere *coughVetForumcough*, you can read in the old housing forums exactly how I changed.
... Even more ironic, I just finished up on Animal Farm in English.
Soooo, I'd like to take this chance to apologize for anyone I hurt, used, or abused during my "Joseph Stalin" reign. I know it's late and all, but, better late than never, right?
Love you guys.

Grondring would be proud of you.
Lionheart - May 24, 2006 11:58 PM (GMT)
Actually, Animal Farm is an allusion to Nazi Germany, not Soviet Russia. However, it still applies as irony, I think.

I Have a Sandwich - May 25, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
It can be both. Hell, it can be based on Barney if you look into it enough.
Lionheart - May 25, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
Well, my Western Civ teacher said it was more of a Nazi critique. That makes more sense, too. I havn't read Animal Farm since 6th grade, but 1984 definantly seemed very Nazi.
I do think it is more just totalitarianism in general, though.
Alex - May 25, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)
So arrogant. That's why Karn pwned me. <3.
Kipdog - May 25, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)
...Wait, you guys actually planned stuff about wars while in countries? While I lead Bern, all we did was uh...I'm not sure. We were goin to make some animated little video though, and we discussed random things. Yeah, after Phantom left Bern I just sort of gave up on the whole fight against the other countries thing. >_>

Heh. :P *nudge nudge*
It's Soviet Russia. All the teachers in my school, plus various other people agree it's Russia when they went all Communistic. Everyone's equal =/= Nazi Germany, dear.
Yeah, Kip. Except, it was more like me scheming the whole time, and when Darky, my only ally, dropped out, I grasped for straws. Soon, I started using every and any friendship I had. I still feel bad, Ultima, about using you. -_-
Hiei - May 30, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
Yea, we read animal farm. o_o
Definitely Russia .
Dragon_Tam3r - May 30, 2006 03:57 AM (GMT)
Meh, the golden days....mine on FEW anyways... WL would pwned big time if it wasn't for the reset (aswell as Carcino-Grado) meh, poor dead RPG >_>

??
Fill me in..that was quite some time ago.
sara13987 - May 30, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
Uhh, remember...? For a while I honestly did feel under-confident in my alliances (which were none), but once you started persisting that you'd take care of it and that WL'd never touch me, I guess I kind of played it up. Sorry.
Dragon_Tam3r - May 30, 2006 07:51 PM (GMT)
Geez Sara, we've told ya time after time, we were going to ally with you, I thought it was a pretty good idea, and Ultima basically wouldn't budge if we didn't..
Phantom - May 31, 2006 01:07 PM (GMT)
aah ... i remember being a spy in those times ...
but then i changed to tactician and i will keep like this ...
Trace Stratus - May 31, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
So instead of a 'Red Scare' FEW had a 'Sara Scare'? oo
sara13987 - May 31, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
... What's a Red Scare, Trace? -_-

WL was doomed until Grondy came back, and he came back PISSED. He ended up suspending himself for flaming people. And it was Carcino-Grado-Jehanna... remember, that's when Luis went all, megalomaniac and it hasn't changed since *sigh...
Sojourn - May 31, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
Yea and the Carcino-Grado-Jehanna alliance ganged up on me(Renais). It was like replaying the game XD

That RPG was fun even though Karn pwned me. <3. If only I had been active from the start of the RPG. <3.

| ... What's a Red Scare, Trace? |
| QUOTE |
The term "Red Scare" has been retroactively applied to two distinct periods of strong anti-Communism in United States history: first from 1917 to 1920, and second from the late 1940s through the mid-1950s, which signified the entrance into the Cold War.
Both periods were characterized by the suspicion of widespread infiltration by communists and fears of communist influence on U.S. society. The first Red Scare also included fear of anarchists and aggressive labor unions; the second, fears of infiltration of the U.S. government. |
:3
Wasn't their a big alliance war near the end of Elibe? I think it was Sacae/Etruria/Ilia/Nabata/Grado vs. WL/BTP?

I ment Bern. :/ Bern and Grado were to similar in both games. A big ass country that all of a sudden gets manipulated to attack other countries.
sara13987 - June 2, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
No, 'Ivan, I already found that one, and used it as best I could. :/
Uhh, Trace, minus Ilia and Nabata, and add EL.
