Title: Judicial Council Requested

Ronian - June 6, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
I, Ronian, along with Valter, Lades, and LoZfan03, do hereby request a judicial council to determine what is to be done with Hiei and all the flaming. We do this to put an official end to the flaming and the hatred, and to ensure that crimes fit punishments across the board for all flamers.

I ask that FEW establishes a judicial system for such occasions. A defense attorney, a prosecutor, a jury of four Admin members, and a few cross-examiners are requested. Trials would run much like U.S. Supreme Court decision cases. Any members not involved would not be allowed to post in the topic.

I move that I be the defense attorney. I have thus far defended Hiei more than anyone simply to play devil's advocate, and have remained level-headed about the entire event. I barely know Hiei, either, so my defense would come as an unbiased view.

I move that LoZfan03 be the prosecutor. He has made multiple valid points in regard to Hiei's actions that would dictate stern punishment. He, too, has avoided flaming and blatant baiting, and has been very calm in his statements.

I move that Lades be appointed as cross-examiner. So far, he's done well in pointing out problems with each of our statements and also has been level-headed.

I move that the Admin team appoint four unbiased members to be the jury in deciding what is to be done sentencing-wise.

I await the Admin's decision in regard to this request.

all points herein confirmed and agreed upon by me

also, I would accept position as prosecutor

Valter - June 6, 2006 08:34 PM (GMT)
Mabye you can ban Legault during the Council as well. It is his wish.

Ronian - June 6, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
Thusly amended. Although I think we should form a judicial system... and then set up the individual cases, one of them being Legault's banning.

Thank you very much. I respect the three of you.

A judicial system in FEW, Just like my Constitutional Law Class and i Greatly appreciate what you are doing to make this place better for all members. if no one steps up i would gladly step up as a Jury member.

In theory, it's a pretty good idea. In reality, it is too lengthy and nothing would ever be ruled on.

legoroy2 - June 6, 2006 09:16 PM (GMT)
I am part, no?

Yes, but what is being ruled on now? I'm afraid I don't see much action from the staff. This is essentially because no one can see if someone's been warned for something, or if someone's been reprimanded through PM or whatever. Which should indeed be left... confidential. The problem is when we get something this serious and this widespread, I think we need an official place where lawyers, for lack of a better term, can listen to and give voice to the anger of the people without it becoming a massive flame-fest. It would also give the public the ability to see what the admins are doing; sentences in cases like these would be publicly known, so that everyone knows the Admin is doing something. Lately, there have been a lot of claim that the higher-ups aren't doing anything. Whatever you guys are/have been doing, no one can see it.

I think the people would appreciate it, even though it is a touch more tedious.

Valter - June 6, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
Ronian, I officially promote you to Spokesperson of the Fire Fighters.

legoroy2 - June 6, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
For teh court, it easier once played Pheonix Wright, no?

Ronian - June 6, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
Thanks, Valter.

And legoroy2, sure, you can be a part. Though what is up to the Admins anyways.

lez ban im good :ihavepie:

This shit has to stop. The members need to calm down, let the staff handle this. THEY decide whether someone should be banned not you. I believe you're implying on a forum court? It won't work. Either way the staff can choose whether to go along with the result or totally disregard it in the end. Just let the staff do their job, hooray! :ihavepie:

LoZfan03 - June 6, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
there should probably be a system in case the admins have a tie vote. like an appointed mod/g-mod tiebreaker or the whole mod/g-mod staff votes

Ronian - June 6, 2006 10:43 PM (GMT)
A good call. The admins would appoint a tie-breaking G-mod if necessary.

Dragon_Tam3r - June 7, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
Okay.this will most likely not work out, but anyways...

You just said you were defending Hiei, just to be known as the one defending him, yet you say your level-headed? Don't think so..

You barely know Hiei, so you'd have no clue how he's acted before, not very trustworthy...

....Jebux, I make a leaving topic, and then Aien drags me back without even trying to, *leaves*
