Title: Immaturity on the forums

Missy_Roxx_Meh_Soxx - July 6, 2006 12:30 AM (GMT)
Since Kipdog closed the other topic and he did say to make a topic here,

Do you think immaturity is becoming a problem here? With the recent suspension of Darkhero and invasion of spamming n00bs (no offense to n00bs who don't spam), do you think the rules shoule be tighter?
Voice your opinion here.

I don't completely agree, but I do think that there should be a rule against making a topic in Leaving/Returning when you've been gone/are leaving for less than three days.

Missy_Roxx_Meh_Soxx - July 6, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
Isn't there a rule?

You should go find it, W_B.

I do think maturity levels should rise on the boards. It can become an issue in arguements, it would be nice if people were a bit more mature about several matters though.

There is none.

I think you are a problem.

Yes maturity is a big problem here. I'm not saying that I'm perfect. I probally act the most inmaturely here. I joke around, I will improve myself after this post. (As I have my own website to repressent. :P)

I'd make a more detailed post, but I'm not in the mood at the moment.

myles_master - July 6, 2006 12:45 AM (GMT)
The question is, where is the maturity level at now, and where should it be.

I'd personally give it a 5/10.

Most of them are very intelligent and I would be showing a sign of my own immaturity if I were to point fingers and say they are immature just because they do not agree with me. Then you look at the other side, and there are also a large ammount of members that are just plain stupid. ._. I'm sure they can improve if somebody makes them aware of how they are acting.

myles_master - July 6, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
But what are people doing now that make it immature and what should people do to so it won't be immature.

Everybody in this topic- Inlcuding myself are acting very stupid. This hasn't been the first agruement of the kind either. This happens every other month, basicly. .._.

Certain things require maturity; some do not. Remember this is a place where people go to have fun so don't always be asking for complete mature discussion.

That being said there is a time for immaturity and a time to grow up.

Kaden - July 6, 2006 02:25 AM (GMT)
I think immaturity should be kept to a minimum, but RI shouldn't matter. As long as they're not flamming or trolling (posting porn, ripping sprites, breaking any other rules on the tos...), RI should be a place for immaturity. Why do I say we need a place to spam? Because, everybody spams, or has a spam topic every once in a while. Plus, it's good for the forum, increases post count.

Edit: Also, with RI, spam would be kept out of other forums, like LUE/LEU. The only downside, is it may run off intelligent members, and attract more n00bs.

I second the notion. He's continued after PM's.

Missy_Roxx_Meh_Soxx - July 6, 2006 03:25 PM (GMT)
Thank you, Lades.

Kaden - July 6, 2006 03:25 PM (GMT)
He only did 4 times from what I've seen, and not after WB flammed him, and called him a 'fucking twit.' Just chill, he's stopped now.

Lades - July 6, 2006 03:27 PM (GMT)
Er...i misread. I'm pro suspension, not banning. The should have some grace periods.

Missy_Roxx_Meh_Soxx - July 6, 2006 03:27 PM (GMT)
For now, yes.

I agree.

Personally, I prefer the system the way it is, with RI being quite spammy, and other forums less so, with LUE & co. being moderated more strictly.

That's exactly the way I feel.

SpiralStatic - July 8, 2006 08:53 PM (GMT)
If people would just stop pointing fingers and actually get down to improving themselves, immaturity would drop really fast.

Esgalglinion - July 8, 2006 09:11 PM (GMT)
To put it bluntly, if we'd inforce the rules furthermore, I'm merely guessing it'd start another swarm of annoying posts.

Maturity isn't something you can force someone to. It has to come eventually on it's own.

Valter - July 9, 2006 02:58 PM (GMT)
There is the possibility that people just ACT immature to get on other peoples nerves. Like that n00b Valter, for example. But some people may be truely immature and need to reach that point in life to be mature.
