Title: Sleep question..
Puff - July 16, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
For awhile now (weeks, maybe), I've gone to bed--or have already been in bed--tired... I lay down, but it takes me an hour or two, maybe longer, to actually fall asleep. I'm tired right now, but if I go to bed now, I probably won't get to sleep until 3:00 AM or so (It's about 10 'til 2AM right now)...
Does anyone think there might be a problem?
Silenthunder - July 16, 2006 07:27 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't know if that is a bad thing, but whenever I am tired I usually fall right asleep. Watching TV doesn't make it seem as long though. But, there are some nights when I just can't get to sleep either.

I usually go to sleep late at night as well, but I almost instantly fall asleep. =|
I don't know what your problem might be...do you wake up early or something? Because I do, so that might be the reason why it takes little to no time for me to sleep.
Lionheart - July 16, 2006 09:32 AM (GMT)
Eh, that happened to me in the school year all the time. I think my problem was that I'm never tired until really late and it was hard to force myself to go to bed early. (It's five thirty in the morning right now.) Some of the times when I was trying to go to bed I felt like I was tired simply because it was the time when my body was prepared to go to sleep. However, my body wasn't actually in need of rest. Maybe your body is just used to going to sleep at a certain time so it's trying to tell you to go to sleep even if you havn't expended all of your energy yet.

Er, that happens to me all the time. Switch from top of the bed to bottom of the bed. It works.
sara13987 - July 16, 2006 03:13 PM (GMT)
Sometimes it happens. Not so much lately, but I have a problem in the school year because of it.
There's a few causes I've attributed to it, actually. (1) I think too much. The more I think, the longer I stay up, especially if it's something worry-ful. Solution? I listened to soft music for a bit. That eventually calmed me down and lulled me to sleep. (2) My body is accustomed to going to bed at later times, and refuses to sleep earlier. I've had that problem lately. Solution? I push myself to stay up later than my body can handle, so I end up falling asleep right away and I wake up more rested.
Also, it helps if you don't eat chocolate, soda, coffee, or anything else with sugar or caffiene before going to bed. That'll keep you up. Eating snacks, or even meals, before bed makes you sleepier, so it'd probably be better to not snack continually (as a trial, anyway) through the night, and just eat alot before bed.
Hope it helps. :/

I have the same problem, but I always thought it was normal. I've just waited until I fall asleep, every night, and not really cared. Just don't think about it, I guess.

Surprisingly, I actually found that the playstation menu was relaxing. Oceans sounds and crap. lol. That, and find another bed to lay on. I can't sleep on mine anymore it seems, but i can sleep anywhere else.
...Like School. <_<
Valter - July 16, 2006 06:06 PM (GMT)
Lades, I go to sleep on the PS2 menu too. :o Southern people think alike, obviously.

Read... I read until I start to doze off that is my solution (I've had that same issue since I learned that chocolate can be snuck past parents at bed time...)
Blademastersupreme - July 17, 2006 03:28 AM (GMT)
Myself. I get up, crawl out of bed, sit on the large cushion beneath my bed, and play Halo until my eyes feel that they must close. Works everytime. (That or I play Fire Emblem so I don't have to get out of bed.)

Insomnia? Just an idea. I'm the same way, I don't know why. =/
Lades - July 17, 2006 09:12 AM (GMT)
I got a new sleep problem. My bro and his friend. They will not pipe down, they keep bothering me, and his friend has ADHD so he's everywhere...and then they drank coffee while no one was looking. I CAN'T TAKE IT NO MORE! It's 5:00 in the morning, and I'm still sitting here cause theres no point going to bed! ARGH!

I too am an insomniac. I lie in bed thinking emo thoughts and can't get to sleep. :P Usually I just switch positions a lot.

Ditto... the emo thoughts bother me though. I guess since I think 'em before sleeping, they don't really manifest, so that must be why I'm not emo.. :P...

Same. B| So, I usually skip sleep all together and stay on the net all night talking to Richie and Zephyr. ._.; That is until my parents unplug my router. >_> Then I just lay in bed either thinking emo thoughts, or watchings girls gone wild commercials. /=

Replace "Zephyr and Richie" with various people I know, and "Girls gone wild" with Crap. Then you've got my nights lately.

WEll, do you see how FEW goes off topic.
Bosco - July 21, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
We're talking about our sleep habits. I don't see that as off topic. As this is a discussion about people with... strange sleep habits. ._.;
Kaden - July 21, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
Eh, I usually watch tv 'till about 11, then listen to my mp3 player until I go to sleep. (Sleep timer, 15 minutes.) =O

Read A Tale of Two Cities. It is very boring, confusing, and uses lots of long words.
