Title: Blue Man Group

The best weekend of my summer is in progress as I type this, and even with shitty Internet, I gotta say, I just experianced one of the best concerts I've ever been too.

What was it? The Blue Man Group, in Chicago.

The Blue Man Group is a group of musicians that play weird insturments, like a Tubulum, or a drumulum, essentially, insturments they make themselves.

3 people each night are dressed up in Blue Latex for each show, wearing black suits with a hole in the middle. These are the guys trained to play the weird insturments. Currently, there are over 30 performing Blue Men.

Accompaning the Blue Men are Drums, Guitar, and Bass Guitar.

I took my chance to go to their concert through my mom's work place, both me and her went. I went shopping in Oakbrook mall, Oakbrook Illinois before hand, and after visiting some stores not available within an hour of me, like the Apple Store [drool here], I was back on the tour bus to the concert.

After standing in line, being admitted, and sitting down, the show started with a cool scrolly thing on the side of the stage saying things like:

"Jenny has a headache. LEt's help Jenny get rid of it. Ready, GO!"

Then the show started, and it was amazing. You first saw silohouttes of the guys, then you saw them playing oil drums. Then they caught MARSHMELLOWS everytime in their mouths when it was tossed to them. You have to admit, it was amazing, to be able ot catch 12-15 marshmellows without missing once.

A little in, they were talking about cheorographed dance moves, and they said to practive your music by playing stuff by rock greats before you. They played Rock Lobster, some sixties love song, and Freebird.

Freebird was a weird one, as someone in the crowd yelled "FREEBIRD!" and the band [not the blue men, the accompiament] Blasted out to Freebird, and then the BlueMen got out a lighter, and started doing that wavey thing, until another one shot it out with a fire extinguisher.

Then they moved on to Audiance dance moves.

"Rock Concert Movement #1, the basic head bob, ready, GO!"

All you see is the audiance headbanging to the beat. Then the one armed fist pump, then the up and down jumping motion, then the Behind the head leg stretch, and finally, the two armed upward thrust with yell.

It truly was a different concert experiance. I also suggest that if you have the chance to see them in concert, you go do so. They are a extremely talented bunch of musicians.
